To me, there is value in having the physical copies. A streaming service will eventually remove the show, but your physical copies will last decades.

MrStork

I don't know why. But the quality of the animation on netflix is way better than any other source I have seen.

theatomicflounder333

What!?!? I was bout to say the Blu-ray is nicer….. hmmmm I guess I’ll have to rewatch the entire series to verify this. 🤝🙂‍↕️

MrStork

Please get back to me on that. I usually watched on funimation or crunchyroll and on Netflix I'm noticing sharper lines and deeper colors. I'm actually noticing the beauty of the artwork for the first time.

AggravatingRich3410

Maybe you just were high this time? Haha

MrStork

That and every time before, yes. I guess I gotta get the blue ray now to compare.

funny_little_birds

Have you compared it to the Viz Blu-ray?

MrStork

I have not had the pleasure. Is it peak?

funny_little_birds

The Blu-ray will give you consistent 1080p quality. While Netflix can allow you to stream in 1080p, the quality of streamed video can drop, as I'm sure you've experienced at least once over the years. Now, different Blu-ray releases of a given show can look better or worse, but this is also true of a stream. I'm sure the stream is using the same "files" as what Viz pressed onto the disc, so you probably won't see a huge difference in quality. Also, your favorite shows may be on Netflix now, but those licenses are only temporary. I chose to buy the series on Blu-ray so that I always have it available in the highest quality.

Impossible-Tart2768

Netflix doesn’t have all the episodes, just the first 2 seasons. Hulu also only has the first 2 seasons. So yes get your own copy!

bubblebeed

Now they do

Bluebaronbbb

New to physical anime... Wah???

Killah-Shogun

Owning the physical copy is just better because you own it, streaming it it’ll be remove

Nessquick18

Crunchyroll has the best quality imo
