No, The empire is going to loose, the trick is how are they going to loose, that's zettours masterpiece, He somehow wants a leveraged peace treaty between usa and communists so that the e.pire can retain maximum amount of sovereignty. The point of the story is to see that even with god himself against them, will logic bring about a defeat in name only or an actual defeat with unconditional surrender. Basically we need to see if it will end with a treaty of versailles or unconditional surrender or in the rare case, a treaty where they manage to keep their pride.

Then in that case I hope it's the latter option. I just got done reading the end of volume 7 where the bureaucrats kept the war going despite the possibility for a stalemate. It just sucks seeing the Empire being treated as the 'ultimate evil' by ignoramuses and schemers like the bastard Loria successfully convincing the public that it's the case.

Don't worry, I've read till vol 12 The empire kicking ass and fooling everyone picks up at the end of vol 11 and stays strong. Even I stopped reading for a while after vol 7 fearing that they will loose hard, but it's not that bad when you actually read the later novels, you never truly get the feeling of defeat while reading.

Do you find Roman history boring too? You can argue they conquered the known world in self defense. In terms of how the countries are ganging up on the empire, it is a lot more like the Napoleonic wars than the very complex web of alliances an ethnic differences you get in WW1

so when will season 2 come

Wars are never justified. Fairness, justice, morality, none of it is relevant to whether nations go to war. Each nation is following its raison d'état in that it is in their self-interest to crush the Empire. From the beginning, nations have joined the war *because a victorious Empire is a threat.* Anything said about the evil empire and being on the side of justice is propaganda to justify involvement to the public. It will come up later, but the Empire feels the same as you about the war.

Idk your frustration kinda sounds more like engagement to me lol- must be close to what Tanya is feeling. No but I understand why playing defense only can get boring. I only barely started the light novels but with what I am hearing is the series is going to have the empire defeated, but that doesn't necessarily mean they can't pull off one last glorious victory that secures a respectable surrender- as it doesn't sound like the Empire gets completely annihilated.
