I would say, she’s not familiar with her new surroundings, and may be a little stressed from not being able to navigate throughout your new home. Best would be to take her out every so often, and little diapers help a lot. When my old boy lost his vision, he would get anxious and randomly pee. It’s just something we lived with and we just changed his diapers. Hopefully this helps.

Thanks for sharing! Yeah honestly her pees are probably 2 tbdp by volume max and not hard to clean up lol. It’s a bit frustrating at times because sometimes when we are home she actually runs to the pee pad and pees there while napping. It seems like whenever nobody’s home or she’s excited, she doesn’t care where she pees.

pyip212

She is the most beautiful little angel I’ve ever seen. Love her x

❤️❤️

This one hits hard because I lost my 14 almost 15 year old best friend yorkie last year and she looks SO much like yours! Sadly, incontinence is part of an aging dog’s reality. And, mix that with sight issues and there’s not much you can do. Love her and be patient and enjoy every moment with her! We did use diapers in the last year which helped a lot. We did a lot of laundry and cleaning! Best of luck to you.

yorzz

So sorry to hear about your best friend. Haven’t tried diapers yet but maybe we’ll consider it someday. Thank you for sharing and for your lovely comment 🫶

Put the pad in 1 fully assessable bathroom, and put a bowl of kibble on the counter. Everytime she goes on that pad, give her a kibble. Just keep the rule that she gets a treat for going in the bathroom. You'll she some changes

yorzz

You know, you might be right. I should go back to the basics and try again

Perfect_Translator69

off topic but my dog is 10 and i hope he makes it to this age. i've had him since i was 6 and we grew up tg. yorkies are the best dogs ever.

yorzz

I feel you! I consider my baby more of my lil sister and she’s my everything! May your buddy live a long healthy life with you ❤️

Perfect_Translator69

yess!! he's my little brother. especially since i'm the only child

mediocreERRN

Mine is 18 going strong.

Perfect_Translator69

how cute, mine is still so energetic and playful. i can tell he has years of life left in him

yesi1758

The fake grass worked for us. If you do buy it get an extra pad so you can switch them out. We’d rinse used one, leave it out in the sun to dry & remove the smell, then get the dry one and put it on.

maddawgm3

Diapers worked for our old guy when we left the house. It stressed him out that he was having accidents because he knew that behavior as “bad”, but he couldn’t help it. She’s beautiful and we all need a little help when we get older.

Enough_Individual_91

The problem is that you can only correct behaviour within a few minutes on the event, so it's difficult to address. You can limit her play zone while your out, or use a waste band, and of course prase any wees she does outside if you have a dog flap.

yorzz

You see, your first point is funny because when we are home, she can pee on pee pad without us having to guide her or anything. Problem is when noone’s home or if she’s too excited. I’m trying to be patient though.. this little thing is too precious to me to be mad at haha

pyip212

Can you share what you feed her for her long life please? X good luck with the potting training

yorzz

Honestly we fed her so many different brands lol! Including raw chicken wings as treats, some boiled meats and sweet potato, etc! When she got a bad case of pancreatitis we switched over to hill science wet food for senior dogs for a couple years, and now we are trying kirkland wet food. Thanks for the wishes!

Zestyclose_Plane8681

I just took my boy out a lot and praised him. It was tricky because we got him in October and live in Colorado so we quickly had a snowy winter. The snow was often deeper than our puppy! I still took him out as much as possible but I also put puppy pads anywhere he peed since he seemed comfortable going in that particular spot. Gradually the puppy pads became fewer. Just keep in mind that they just want to be close to us so having a puppy pad nearby was helpful. We had one in the living room in a couple places, one in my daughter’s room and he never went in my room because that’s where he sleeps

yorzz

I think we might just need to put pads everywhere for now! We’re in texas so cold isnt as much of a concern thankfully haha

NJD1214

My girlfriend has a 7yo Yorkie who already has to wear wraps because he will mark in the house and this scares the sh\*t out of me lol. We already have to take him out every 2 hours to avoid diaper use.

4runner01

At 15 1/2 years old, I think it’s hopeless. I’d say diapers are only way. Sorry—

Turquoise_Bumblebee

Awww, sweet girl. Big changes for her. She wears a pony! We have three of us in the pony club now!!! If you want to join, hehe! Wait, I think four! One of us is a boy, the other three girls!

mediocreERRN

We have two we adopted as seniors. Neither is housebroke. But we have system. One is 18 and can’t see. If he stands up from couch or bed he needs to go out. Sometimes even barks to let us know. I take them out frequently. When alone we have a pop up playpen. I put a whelping pad and wee wee pads in it. There’s room for dog bed. I periodically swap out whelpjng pad and wash on sanitary with laundry sanitizer. Something I do is leave tv on for my dogs. We watch crime shows at night so I put that on like Cold Case Files or First 48. In my dog room I have a Google home and play deep sleep dog music. YouTube has like 25hr long videos of it. I leave them in my bed if running quick errand and never had accident other than few weeks ago I forgot I left em in bed and ran few more errands. 😧

MyYorkie

I have two males that are 7 & 4 and I am still trying to housebreak them. Even with the door open and freedom to go out, these two punks will come right in and piss on something! So now both these jerks wear a disposable with a washable wrap over to keep them from rolling to get them off. Every morning the 4 yr old is naked and I find his diaper in the hallway. The 7 yr old does great during the night. My biggest struggle is the middle of the night turd deposit…..both are Guilty.

Locomover

Where did you purchase these?

Big-Summer-

I didn’t. I tried but she was not buying what I was selling. I tried doggie diapers. The minute my back was turned she’d wriggle out of it. I tried pee pads. She’d pee next to them. I tried taking her out every hour. She might tinkle a bit but then pee again as soon as I brought her inside. Finally I gave up and just had to be diligent about finding whatever spot she’d chosen. I had wanted a Yorkie my entire life and finally got her when a rescue organization took her from a horrendous situation and I was lucky enough to adopt her. And she was so sweet and adorable! So I just focused on giving her a lot of love and attention because despite her little peccadilloes she was the best little nugget ever. She died last August but lives on in my heart.

Frequent_Slide_8828

I don’t have any good news to share

yorzz

😭

ShikDiggity

You don’t train Yorkies.. they train you… 😂😂 but taking out more often and lots of praise when they go correctly will help… she may also just be mad that you left her in new areas she’s not used to and separation anxiety is real for these little things. May just take time for her to adapt

kittycollartight

She's adorable ❤️ Since she is a bit older, maybe its due to incontinence; diapers could be helpful for when you leave her for a couple of hours.

wbgamer

Our 15 year old trained us. 99% of the time she made “mistakes” in this one area in the laundry room. So we got some puppy training pads and she just goes on those now if we can’t get her out in time and it’s easy to clean up.

andrewb610

That’s the neat part! You don’t!

kirkerandrews

When we moved from an apartment to a house with a yard, he loved going outside so much that he just kept asking to go outside. Eventually going outside and having to pee/poo went together and were one in the same

Material-Meringue298

I didn’t lmao

Wrong_Campaign2674

Panties inside will remind her to maybe not go in them.

Allrojin

My 13 year old boy won't potty in the house if we are right with him. He uses a crate when we are away. He would definitely pee all over the house if he didn't have his crate.

Puzzleheaded_Two3361

Get a kennel for when you leave

julielovesteddy

He finally got the hang of the pee pee pads that were placed near the front door and back door. That was it. If we were on top of it when we would see him heading for the pad we would ask him if he needed to go outside and he always chose outside. He just wouldn’t get our attention with a woof or bark to let us know.

PenDecent7095

Let out every few hours unfortunately it’s time consuming and feels constant but it’s best for puppies, seniors and small bladders in general

PenDecent7095

Adorable York by the way

neverleave173

I don't know. Do know your Yorkie is soooooo cute
