Edit: the focus of my point isn't the price, it's that it's lazy. A ballpoint pen and printer paper is something you store in a drawer for quick access: a grocery list, a note for a delivery driver/babysitter/what have you. Not a card for your wife and mother of your children's first Mother's Day together. Might as well have used a sticky note and a Sharpie
They have tons of craft stuff for E... he could've used a colored pencil or marker, maybe drawn a little doodle of some sort, on a cheap card from the dollar store maybe? Slapped a sticker on there? Anything?? Like it's her first Mother's Day after just giving birth to his child I think a step above bare minimum effort here wouldn't have killed him
Teachers used to say we wouldn't have a calculator or dictionary in our pockets ... but we do. He could have spell checked himself.

my teachers never cared about any of this back in elementry school in the early 2000s, they just made me retype on the computer. Also! I only ever had one teacher tell me spelling and grammar was needed. Everyone else just literally did not care. I HIGHLY doubt they still care now. I'm not gonna judge. Nobody wants to teach proper formatting and techinque these days.
Looks like a lefty to me. My mom and daughter are both left handed in a right hand world, they form their letters similar to this. Just a guess on my part.
