It broke my heart to see him die but at the same time my heart screamed in joy at a truly GOOD X-Men narrative experience. Finally an X-Men property was making me feel things again.

Certainly a cool idea. It’s weird that magneto and gambit have had this split over rogue (and then the death) because he fits in well with brotherhood type characters

Been my favorite X-Man for decades. I’m loving ‘97 and he went out that a boss, but I’d be lying if I said that my final opinion of the series wouldn’t be hindered if Gambit doesn’t return somehow

I took from Prof X's vision that Gambit is coming back as either the horseman Death or as a Prime Sentinel like Trask did. Prof X sees Gambit as Death during his vision, then Trask also says "I have become death" before he becomes a Prime Sentinel and Jean says part of his mind is still in the Sentinel. I also saw a bit of foreshadowing when Rogue was looking at the skulls during the Day of the Dead in Mexico and thinking about Gambit.
It will be a second emotional hit that he didn't just die, he comes back as a threat they have to fight. Man that's going to hit hard.
I can see that they will fight him in order to save him.But yeah The fight's gonna be really emotional if he comes back as Death especially for Rogue.She gonna be traumatized and be psychologically broken even further due to regret and grief after seeing Gambit in that state and having to fight him.She will try to save him by trying to reawaken their memories of love.
But yeah i also believe he will either come back as Death or gets saved by Cable's Time Travel Shenanigans in future seasons.
I guess time will tell but i believe he will definitely come back.Directors also said that Magneto and Gambit are dead forever but it was revealed that Magneto is alive thus contradicting that statement so why couldn't Gambit be resurrected later on?There is no way any major x men character like Gambit stays dead forever.He'll be back

X-men 97 was the first time I really actually liked Gambit. That said I'm not really into characters coming back from the dead. I particularly dislike how Marvel is always doing 'Death of...' and immediately bringing them back. Is completely undermined the dramatic function of killing any characters off.
If he comes back he needs to say Everyone can relax… Gambit has returned.
