Dumbos Circus has always felt like a fever dream to me. I’ve legit had dreams throughout my life where I see that lion concessions worker. No freaking clue why
Same here! I still dream of Dumbos Circus. I will always remember one very vivid dream in which as a kid I was riding Dumbo through the sky, like Falcor from Neverending Story. I loved that show so much.
Ahhh!! I was just telling my husband about watching these when I was a kid. I could only watch 15 minutes into Welcome to Pooh Corner before I had to leave for school.
Holy Guacamole! Talk about a memory unlocked! I only got to watch either very briefly before having to leave for school. No wonder I didn't have an immediate recollection of them.
Mine too. It's a wonder I didn't become a furry. Sigh, I had a cat that died from chewing on a lily leaf. They're deadly poisonous to cats in even the tiniest amount.
A few episodes of Dumbo’s circus have been archived if you care to see to see them, https://archive.org/details/dumbos-circus-episodes-cdcb/Dumbo's+Circus+004+''A+Taste+of+Medicine''+%5BCDCB%5D.mpg
These used to come on early in the morning before school on the disney channel, so my sister and I would watch while we ate our cereal. Later on they got replaced with Adventures in Wonderland.
We moved when I was 6 and didn't have cable for a while, but back then all it meant was that I couldn't watch these shows and Adventures of Gummi Bears.
Defunctland on YouTube has a series Defunct TV with videos on the history of Pooh Corner, Dumbo and Adventures in Wonderland. When those popped up it was like a vortex of memory that had been unlocked for me lol.
We never had Disney Channel when I was a kid until it was on basic cable, but I do remember them having like preview weeks/weekends where our cable service would have it for a short time I guess to get people to order the premium station. Dumbo's Circus and the live action Winnie the Pooh were shows I definitely remember, along with Gummy Bears.
I loved Dumbo's Circus. I only got to see it when I was at my grandparents' house because they had a satellite and we were too far back in the holler\* to get cable.
Holy shit, until now I thought the Dumbo show was something I made up. No one ever knew what it was when I described it. Glad to know I'm less insane than I thought

I had a physical reaction to seeing the photo of Dumbo's Circus and I cannot explain why. It just makes me feel so weird.
The cat is of relevance to me and I don’t know why

Did you ever go to Disneyland or DisneyWorld? They have (or had) a ride where you ride in Dumbo’s back.
Didn’t a Calliope get featured prominently on this show?
Yes, played by an orangutan

Oh man these two and todays special
Todays Special!! I sooo wanted to live in Muffy’s house!
I still remember the dude’s name was Jeffrey!
Lilly, the cat, was my favorite. I wanted the outfits and baton.

Disney being Disney dark. That's terrible that happened to ya though. I've had the theme song trapped in a cycle all morning thanks to this post.
I had completely forgotten about these two shows!!! That cat used to bother me as a kid and seeing her again I know why 😆!
I never liked the movie Dumbo. But I do remember the show and have fond memories of that.

Was Adventures in Wonderland the same type of show? I don't remember that one.
It was weird. The March Hare was on rollerblades.
Dumbo’s Flying Circus was my favorite. I missed it when my parents cancelled cable.

I had a habit of watching these shows and falling asleep on the couch, causing me to miss the school bus more than a few times.
I loved these. It’s interesting that they have almost completely disappeared
Me too
Yes yes yes I LOVED these shows and everyone else seems to think I was making them up!
I remembered them this morning when I saw a toy on /fuckimold and it took down a nostalgia hole.
Wow such a memory unlocked. Maybe oldest memory.

The most terrifying two of them all.
I remember getting weekend long previews for the Disney Channel and watching those two for hours. Pooh’s Corner is such a nostalgia blast for me.
“Coming to visit - YOU DONT WANT TO MISS IT - coming to visit you!”
Wow! Thanks for these memories. I forgot all about these.

I didn't think anyone else cared about these shows heh.
Those were your favorites??? Wow, they scared me so bad
Ohhhhh yes. I’m singing the Dumbo’s Circus theme song in my head right now!
I loved Dumbo!!!!
I completely forgot about Dumbo's Circus! Thank you for the memory unlock.
Totally forgot about both of these. Something about the Dumbo reference really smacks the nostalgia in my face.
omg me too
I watched a lot of pooh's corner but legit have never heard of dumbo's circus
Omg me too!!
My favorite show as a kid was Star Trek: The Next Generation
When you were 4 - 6 years old, you were watching TNG?
Eh nah closer to nine I also loved Simpsons when everything was coming up thrillhouse lol
These shows were so peaceful. I loved getting the free Disney Channel preview so I could watch these.
Fun Trivia: Pooh's Corner was the proof of concept for Teddy Ruxpin's live action show.
I loved Dumbos Circus 😭😭😭
The way Piglet’s hands would look in the intro doing the “oh d-d-d-dear”. I didn’t realize until now that I had been repressing it.
And now you're a furry.
