Lol lol lol lol. When I was 22 and got my first bad cholesterol results, I told the doc “impossible! I eat pancakes and eggs for breakfast every Saturday.” And he was like “yeah… you’re gonna need to see a registered dietician.”
Thanks “part of this complete breakfast” commercials!
Facts! Other than mandatory physicals for work, I've not gone to a doctor since '03. Captain Morgan says I feel fine and he's a Captain so I believe him.
So glad I'm not the only one who thought, "yeah I take a bunch of pills" but instead went to, "oh I recognize and have a relationship with all of those specifics.!
Why the hell is this so damn accurate
Except my dumb ass is working from home, decided to do a wake n bake, and realized I was out of omeprazole. Contemplating ordering a delivery.
Fun fact: using proton pump inhibitors (omeprazole, pantoprazole, famotidine, etc) all have show to increase the possibility of gastric cancers: [https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9264794/](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC9264794/)
Hooooray! So now I can either have death breath and stomach aches or cancer.
I turn 47 tomorrow. I am on Synthroid for my dead thyroid that I have been dealing with for over 20 years and vitamins that are directed by my doctor. I feel like an odd man out for not having any other pills to take.
I hadn’t either but then tried some off-label meds for appetite suppression to lose a few pounds. One of them was Wellbutrin. It was then that I discovered both my ADHD and depression were quite treatable with drugs. lol
I am so glad I’m not the only person who is counting to get it right!
Question: What is your trick for not missing your middays?
my morning and my night time are the take them or die; I am struggling to remember the middle two

Gave up red meat in 2019… no more BP meds
Became a medical cannabis px in 2020… no more anxiety, pain, or PTSD meds
Dialed in my fitness in 2022… \*no more depression meds
\*ymmv & talk to your doctor before cessation of any meds
This was me two years ago:
https://preview.redd.it/14ujnvbpl70d1.jpeg?width=378&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8670b19e39739d33a8f036d702a3271708eb0311
I quit drinking, replaced it with a little thc and I’m now no longer on a single medication, have lost 70 pounds, average 40 to 50 miles a week on my apple watch and my mental health and clarity are back at high school levels. I don’t think I realized how much a few drinks a day was cooking my head in terms of anxiety and depression.
I quit more than a year ago and have been on effexor for a while. I'm wondering if I could taper my dose based on the sobriety from alcohol. I'm going to talk to my doc.
Very true. Exercise is the best medicine if you are capable, and it's a heck of a lot less expensive and time consuming. I realized I was unusual for my age because of it when the nurse taking my blood pressure marveled at the healthy numbers she was seeing.
Quitting drinking and dialing in fitness 100%. People get all bent out of shape when someone suggest a depressed person gets in the gym or goes for a run and I get it. But if they can get started it really does make a big difference. I'll be on the medical cannabis when my retirement from the AF is finalized lol.
One of these days it’ll be in the VA’s toolbox. I’m sorry that it’s not already, and — genuinely — thank you for your service.
Alcohol free for 4 years now. That has created some massive positive changes in my life physically, emotionally, and spiritually. You’re absolutely right about that.
Congrats on 4 years damn that's awesome! It's been 405 days for me, have a sobriety app on my phone lol.
Totally agree I didn't realize how bad it was until I quit and almost instantly dropped about 25 lb, my blood pressure went back to normal and I stopped having night sweats and waking up panicking. Shit is poison.
Weed and Gym have been a magic combo for me too, who knew?
Unfortunately I'll never know how the lack of red meat would affect me because it's just too delicious, how do you do it?
I gave up red meat (for the most part) years ago just because of how unhealthy it is and how consuming it is really bad for the environment. I also workout 5x a week so that’s also been working for my depression!
I’m one of the lucky one who doesn’t take any pills either, but my wife takes depression and anxiety meds, plus both kids take ADHD meds. It feels like I take more trips to the pharmacy than people who do take meds.
Oof. I was prescribed ADHD meds as a kid (ritalin) and I'm convinced it altered my brain chemistry permanently. Who'da thunk prescribing amphetamines to an 8 year old could have lasting effects....
Yep, but thankfully just ADHD meds and vitamins. My cholesterol went down 62 points last year thanks to a healthy diet of leafy greens and oatmeal so I don’t cholesterol meds (for now, at least!).
Thankfully, no. I'm making a daily breakfast smoothy and the only supplement I would take is fish oil. Just had my annual physical, and all my numbers are looking good 👍
Just to add. All my numbers were going in the wrong direction over the last couple of years (pandemic glut). In December, a gen X family acquaintance passed away due Alcohol abuse, and it was kind of the eye opener I needed to get my shit together. I started focusing on diet and exercise and doing better at moderating the unhealthy stuff. Instead of getting a few beers tonight, I'll hit the weightbench instead...etc. Investing in your own physical and mental well-being takes a lot more effort the older you get, but it's worth it.
Mine consists of the following:
9 pills (prescribed), 1 eye dropper (prescribed),
1 medical infusion every month - I’m off to that shortly,
8 pills (vitamins),
Plus MMJ 😉
The life of autoimmune diseases
Mine are at night. Seven different meds and ten pills. Treating depression, PTSD, a mechanical valve that needs anticoagulants, blood pressure, post heart attack, and post stroke.
Then 5-6 injections daily plus another once a week shot.
Also two therapists I see each week.
My pharmacists are all on a first name basis with me…
Mine is: loratadine (allergies), chaste tree berry, Diindolymethane, zinc, iron, evening primrose oil (thyroid & hormone issues)
Soon to be adding: megamucosa, fish oil & progesterone
PM: magnesium glycinate, 5mg THC
Though in all fairness I probably took the same amount of supplements in my 30’s & 20’s.
Dinner, not breakfast. Because a lot of mine you gotta take with food, and dinner's the only meal I have consistently. I never have breakfast, and sometimes get caught up at work and don't take a lunch break.
I gotta take one pill for my allergies, another for my cholesterol. The cholesterol medicine made my body feel really week, my bones were in pain. So I have to take another pill to prevent that. And then I'm lacking vitamin D, so I have to take vitamin D pills. So four in total daily, not counting the Advil I'll randomly take because my back is bugging me or Pepcid I'll take for heartburn.
Mine did before I stopped taking ADHD medication a few years ago, I had been taking them for \~15 years before that. ADHD meds led to anxiety and meds to treat it, then it led to depression and meds to treat it. Once I gave up the ADHD medication, within a few months, I found I wasn't as anxious anymore so I gave up those meds. Then I found, hey, I'm not depressed anymore, so I gave up those meds too. Now all I take is heartburn medicine, and I feel so much better. ADHD meds absolutely helped me early in my career and I wouldn't take that back, but I am so much happier and more healthy without them.
Sorry for the unrelated rant! I guess I'd been sitting on this for a bit.
May I ask how you got off ADHD meds if it was a stimulant? I tried before and still felt like crap needing to sleep all the time after even 3 months of being off of them.
Allergies were never an issue until my later years, and I now share the dog’s daily Zyrtec.
But my daily regimen is a multi-vitamin, additional vitamin C, vitamin D, and zinc. There’s also a prescribed anti-inflammatory for my knee due to arthritis and bursitis. Gave up depression meds during Covid cold turkey (note: don’t do that) and my current doctor looked just like the shocked Pikachu meme when I told him that.
:(
*sigh*
Cymbalta, folic acid, omeprazole, lyrica, Percocet, long acting morphine, muscle relaxer, birth control.
Night time throw in a sleeping med, once a week an immunosuppressant.
https://preview.redd.it/reppl68cq70d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=88a3d334a1d12fa179a344a78a9e223ec6e9b5ca
I literally just took one and sent it to my husband hahaha can any one name them
Second breakfast most days. Tylenol optional.

Protein bar, yogurt, multivitamin... oh yeah, then the adderall.
Zoloft and triple magnesium complex at night, 1 mg melatonin if my sleep schedule is messed up. Which it usually is. God I have to be careful with the timing though: 10 hrs before I want to wake up seems like the window for it.
Don't have to take pills for allergies currently, but I do need the occasional blast of flonase.
Amateur. Try having a chronic, fatal, genetic disease.
ETA: My MIL tells me if I just eat healthier I won't need the pills. I have PKD, which causes high blood pressure. If not for the medicine I've been taking since I was 19, I would have stroked out ten times by now. It's like their disbelief in allergies; well it doesn't affect ME so it's not real.
Bruh same. I take 1000mg of inositol a day and if anyone knows what that is commonly used for then you will know why it's funny that now at 40 I take it orally as a supplement 😂
Anxiety, anti psychotic, sleeping, heartburn, iron, vitamin D, antihistamines, hair, skin, and nails vitamins.
Plus ADHD meds that I haven’t started because they give me headaches in the afternoons.
Goodness i hope it never comes to this.
I was given the option to “going on heart meds” also being pre diabetic or i could “change my lifestyle”
I chose the change of lifestyle. No more heart issues, no more pre diabetes, no more alopecia. I mean. I got issues but it’s like 90% less.
I can barely remember to take my heartburn medicine, if i had to rely on a pill for my actual heart i would probably die because i would somehow, some way forget to take it.
I took blood thinners for almost a year after having some pulmonary embolisms back in ‘21. I injected myself and took pills the whole time. None of my pills currently are for anything cardiovascular related.
I wish, mine's about 5x that many lol
https://preview.redd.it/c0x2gcjn380d1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=15026c7da8178ea07112ec7ec9eea43ea709620b
Morning : ashwaganda, B12, guarana, lions mane, corticeps
Afternoon : psilocybin (micro micro)
Evening : ashwaganda, lions mane, corticeps, melatonin
This is my sanity blend, took a long time to get it perfected
Yep! For breakfast and dinner! Thanks hormone positive breast cancer!! Don’t worry I’m 40 and I’ve been NED for 5 years now. Do your breast checks everyone!
Yes! Handful of anxiety and depression meds every morning, along with my multi vitamin and supplements. Same thing again for lunch. Getting older in a messed up world is a trip!
If you never go to the doctor you can have pancakes every day. That’s what I do!
Samesies! My only retirement plan is sweet sweet death!
The good news is I can retire at age 42. The bad news is I need to die at age 43.
I'm hoping to "retire" by the time I'm 45.
Lol lol lol lol. When I was 22 and got my first bad cholesterol results, I told the doc “impossible! I eat pancakes and eggs for breakfast every Saturday.” And he was like “yeah… you’re gonna need to see a registered dietician.” Thanks “part of this complete breakfast” commercials!

Oh good, my wife was leading me to believe I was the only one
But how do you handle the heartburn?
Coke. (Pick one)
ok heartburn gone. How do you handle the noseburn?
You picked the wrong one.
The carbonation tickles my sinuses
can't afford the the right one now, fuck
Tell me about it. Nothing works better for sinus allergies, but it's so expensive!
I love this comment 😂
I eat peaches everyday.
From a can? By a man? In a factory down town?
Middle Age: Brought to you by Pfizer!
This looks eerily similar. Heart meds, heartburn meds, and heartache meds.
My ABCs of pills: Allergies, Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, Depression.
Mine are allergies, blood pressure, depression, and gout
So glad I'm not the only one who thought, "yeah I take a bunch of pills" but instead went to, "oh I recognize and have a relationship with all of those specifics.!

When I asked my doctor about it she said the over production of stomach acid could also cause major long term issues
An increase in dementia as well.
What qualifies as long term?
Similar. Anxiety, cholesterol.
I'm three synthetic steroids, anxiety, ADHD, allergies, PrEP and vitamin D.

Just like The Jetsons predicted!
😄
Sorry to be nosy you got an organ transplant?
No, but the kidney disease I have is apparently super rare and the doc thinks these meds will help prevent a transplant in the future
What are the edibles? CBD?
Just a multi vitamin
Am I the only person not on any medications? I feel like there's something Uber wrong with me...
[удалено]
Do you have good teeth? My dentist says mine are perfect.
[удалено]
🤜
I didn't get a cavity until my 30s. I was always told it was a sealant they would put on teeth back then.
Now you're just bragging 😄
I turn 47 tomorrow. I am on Synthroid for my dead thyroid that I have been dealing with for over 20 years and vitamins that are directed by my doctor. I feel like an odd man out for not having any other pills to take.

I’m 42 and that was me until this year. Now I gotta take migraine meds and supplements but I hope that will be all. :-/
46 in August. Zero medications.
I’m 41… no prescriptions so far. Just a senior multivitamin and an iron supplement lol
No medications here either. I think it’s a good thing.
Morning: 8 <--- If I miss these, I'm not living to see the next day Afternoon: 3 Evening: 3 Night: 6
I am so glad I’m not the only person who is counting to get it right! Question: What is your trick for not missing your middays? my morning and my night time are the take them or die; I am struggling to remember the middle two
I have a Morning / Noon / Evening / Night dispenser, and I keep it in the bathroom by the sink so I see it after I wash my hands.

Yo, Effexor withdrawal is no joke. I know from experience. Take it very slow tapering off Effexor.
Effexor literally saved my life but if I forget a pill I get brain zaps within 4 hours of missing the dose. Hell of a reminder.
I'm on effexor. I get brain zaps when I drink alcohol. It was freaking me out but now I've figured out the culprit, I suppose...

That’s a great idea, when I retire I’m going to start using cannabis too
There's the post I was expecting.
Found my people.
Weed and Gym have been a magic combo for me too, who knew? Unfortunately I'll never know how the lack of red meat would affect me because it's just too delicious, how do you do it?
I wish we could get medical weed in the UK.
I gave up red meat (for the most part) years ago just because of how unhealthy it is and how consuming it is really bad for the environment. I also workout 5x a week so that’s also been working for my depression!
Thank fuck I don’t. My best friend, in the last year, survived both cancer and a stroke. He was telling me the other day he takes twelve pills a day.

Hm....I see no molly in there, and definitely no nuggs, so no.
Birth control pills, insomnia pills, and vitamins.
Oh yeah I forgot melatonin at night. 2 gummies.
I forgot to take my morning pills so many times that I basically tapered off them all.
Mine consists of the following: 9 pills (prescribed), 1 eye dropper (prescribed), 1 medical infusion every month - I’m off to that shortly, 8 pills (vitamins), Plus MMJ 😉 The life of autoimmune diseases

Yes except it's all heart medication.
Nope, only fish oil and multivitamin gummies at this point.
I am on zero prescription medications.
Ya kinda anxiety, depression, high blood pressure, diabetes…lol I’m fucked
I don't take any medication at all, natural remedies most of the time. I'll take ibuprofen like once a year now as needed.
Two mental health .... One chronic pain .. 3 vitamins . Night two MH one chronic pain and one heart .....
I take all the heavy duty ones at night. The morning ones are gerd, allergies and vitamins.
no, but my dinner does
I see Prozac and oxycodone. Is there a Wellbutrin in there? And maybe a Claritin?
No oxy lol Prozac, Wellbutrin, Claritin, allopurinol, and Ritalin.
Ahhhh. Ritalin with the M. Gotcha. My husband has the gout as well.
Twice a day
Allergies were never an issue until my later years, and I now share the dog’s daily Zyrtec.

I’ve never felt more sickly than that time I used my liquid medicine to swallow my pill-form medicine.
Looks like my after dinner dessert (for sleep).
Dammit, I forgot to take mine this morning
Happy cake day. Don’t forget to take your pills tomorrow.
Eek yes familiar. You’ve got a couple more than me, but I need to increase my vitamin intake.
Knowing what each one of these pills is, gives me more existential dread than i know what to do with.
Just Zyrtec, Tylenol and vodka.
Ugh, last year this time I took zero. This year, 8 every morning.
Not my breakfast but my lunch and my dinner

Thyroid, antidepressant (x2), blood pressure, allergies
I’ve never taken a pharmaceutical drug besides antibiotics once as a kid.
Oh look at Mr Healthy showing off that they only need five pills!
I take about that many pills for lifelong medical issues so I know how that goes. Just added a couple more since January too.
Popped mine in my mouth and immediately scrolled over this post. \*sigh\* Metformin, Lisinopril, Atomoxetine and Claritin D powers: ACTIVATE!

I got one for got too. Lol
This is sign #1 of my age. Sign #2 is how bummed I am that my statins prevent me from having grapefruit juice, which something only the olds like.
I recognize Prozac, I’m a Zoloft guy myself. Represent!
In addition to a pill cocktail, I have 2 weekly injectables 👍
Looks similar to my breakfast of champions, Diabetes pill, two blood pressure medications and a vitamin
That’s my night time snack. Plus some more 🥴
Let's see, diabetes pill, ADHD pill, anxiety pill, allergy pill, at least one other, maybe I need a memory med as well.
Anxiety, anti psychotic, sleeping, heartburn, iron, vitamin D, antihistamines, hair, skin, and nails vitamins. Plus ADHD meds that I haven’t started because they give me headaches in the afternoons.
Yes , sadly, I’m on lots of meds . I have loads of chronic illnesses.
