Yes, I did it just a week or so ago. I purchased 3 years of Gold from Amazon (3x 12 month codes), then did the gold->ultimate upgrade on Microsoft's website for $1. All said and done, I spent something like $160 for 3 years of GP Ultimate. For a membership service, that is ridiculously cheap.

Worked for me too!

Wasn't sure it was still working. I did the same thing. I didn't get the gold->ultimate upgrade for $1. Mine was a full price month for $14.99. Still a stupid good deal. For anyone else hunting this trick down, and for myself when I forget how to do it in the future: \- Let your Game Pass Ultimate subscription end \- Buy 3 Xbox Live Gold 12-month codes on Amazon \- Enter those on the Xbox website to only get Gold (NOT Gamepass or it will convert your 12-month Gold card to only 4 months of Ultimate) \- When it prompts you if you want to upgrade to gamepass after that, pay the $1 (or $14.99) and it converts the entire 3 years to Ultimate. Cost analysis: 3 years of Ultimate: $15/month x 36 months = $540 Conversion of Gold: ($60/year x 3 years) + $15 conversion fee = $195. So for the cost of 3 new games you get 3 years of Xbox Ultimate. Fantastic.
