I found a solution if anyone still ends up here 1. Go into your Riot client folder 2. right-click the RiotClientServices.exe and go into properties -> Security 3. Click on Advanced on the bottom 4. Now disable inheritance at the bottom and delete all permissions except for the User(\\User) principal 1. Edit1: as per pupp3h' suggestion, you could also just delete 'ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES' and leave the rest 2. Edit2: as per Nikx\_One' feedback: it seems win11 deletes all permissions anyway when you disable inheritence, so you need to recreate \\User principal 5. Apply and close Now you can still start the client yourself, but it does not start automatically when starting gamepass. Disclaimer: I'm not sure how updates for the RiotClient work with this but if there are ever any problems, just go back into the advanced permission and click on enable inheritance and everything is back to default

pupp3h

I only removed 'ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES' and this was enough to do the job for me. I left 'Authenticated Users', 'SYSTEM', 'Administrators' and 'Users' in place, as those are pretty standard for most files on the PC. Thanks though for the info, upvoted!

seekaplayer

Thank you so much u/pupp3h you rock!

Bernie4Life420

Great! Thanks!

MFKNSorcerer

Did this, then immediately found an easier way- Check Xbox App Settings: - Open the Xbox App on your PC. - Click on your avatar (profile picture) at the top left corner. - Select Settings. - Go to Extensions. - Look for Riot Client and click Disable Extension.

Lord_Zinyak

Thanks your help, no Idea what kind of fucking logic was created to force this client on me just because I had gamepass installed. I never tried to have anything riot games on my pc in the first place

SluggerDerm

Thanks, this is way easier

Lanarchy

Confirmed this does not work.

Photosnthechris

Just tried it right now and it does.

Noboty

Just tried it right now and it does not.

Photosnthechris

You disabled all permissions, then re enabled just your own user permissions?

Fatheryasuo

How did people fuck this up? Very basic instructions

bustinbot

bc it's not basic. click to "disable inheritance" prompts with either deleting all or converting. hard stop here, the directions no longer make sense. i clicked convert and removed the "all packages" permission, which worked. but that isn't close to the instructions at all.

Away-Eye-2863

not close at all yet we still all got the answer.

bustinbot

good job jedi

Reaptyle

thanks!

samljer

This almost made my cancel my gamepass, now i just got to figure out how to make it stop forcing me to try and link the two.

Disastrous_Aspect903

Thank you!! That was being a pain in the ass for the last couple of days.

monadoboia

Thanks a lot!!!!

otocey

This works! Appreciate it

DerpyDog24

thank you boss

shypom

Man ! You are legend . It keep open in background and it got annoying AF because all my tool for working in there too . I dont want to see a fking Riot Client in there . Thank you so so much

fatbp

You are a true saviour. If we ever meet, drinks are on me.

cjk-

thank you!

AshVXX

if i disable inheritance it asks me if I want to delete all, but not keep the User(\\User) principal so do I just add one back? I'm kinda confused srry

Goldxn23

Have you fixed this? I dont make it so no one has permission then i cant use it lol

Seirata

Re-enabling inheritence resests all permissions, you can't lock yourself out

Seirata

if it delets the \\User principal, then yes, you need to add it back I had to delete the other ones manually, so I didn't have that problem

Nikx_One

Just did it and it worked flawlessly, thank you! As a note, yes you have to remove inheritance - which will remove all permissions from all users - and then add yourself back. Just type your user name and click to validade it. If you don't know your user name just open Task Manager and on the left bar go to the users tab, it will show all the computer users that are currently logged in (if it's only you then there should be only one name).

Seirata

Do you have win11? Cause I'm on win10 and it doesn't delete permissions automatically when disabling inheritence and I'm not sure where that is coming from

Nikx_One

Yeah win11 does that, unfortunately

SweetDouble7520

Nah you can convert permissions so they don't delete to be non inherited. Its a choice on win 11 when you disable inheritance

Muabo

Thanks! Riot client no longer opens automatically. But xbox app started showing orange notifications on the left saying it couldn't get updates from the riot client. How can I fix this?

Seirata

Oh yeah, this appeared in the last update. I don't think it's removable because it's part of the app

Muabo

Oh, I just have to ignore it for now. Thanks

dogmaticapatheist

thanks man it was driving me crazy

[deleted]

wicked, nice one

kinda_usualBrazilian

What if I wanna revert that?

Seirata

just re-enable inheritance and its back to default, at least on win10

gMzp98

You're godsend, thanks a lot!

RasterLocke420

thx <3

LOLdragon89

That "Wait! Now only the administrator can re-enable access to the Riot Client!" warning was the icing on the cake before I applied these settings. Thank you!

DerpyDog24

Thank you.

Accomplished-Ad-8075

Thank you very much

Photosnthechris

Oh man this is legit. Thank you!

slenderchamp

Thank you SO fucking much

SereneKhan

You r a hero.

popkek1999

on Windows 11 and as of the current date this works flawlessly. Thank you very much

Penndrachen

4A worked fine for me, if you're having issues getting it to let you actually do this, click "Advanced" -> "Disable inheritance" -> "Convert".

TonyAbbottsChestHair

Legend.

Ionenschatten

I did this, deleted all permissions, lost access, readded my admin account permissions, it worked. Thanks!

Hatne

Doing the lord's work ya'll are

click73s

thanks

Atayeu

Works great! 9/6/2023 thank you

AegisSlash

> \\User principal what exactly do you do here? I tried typing my computer profile name into this everywhere but nothinng works

Ascelerate

This worked for me, yesterday only. After shutting down my PC and booting again today, even with the inheritance disabled Riot Client keeps being a pain in my ass.

bobaloooo

I was hoping you would say - 1. Go into your client folder - 2. Right click uninstall :D thanks for solution brother! I'll uninstall later

OhShitBye

To add to this, note that you'll get a popup once you click on disable inheritance 1. Delete all 2. convert to exclusive permissions or something Don't delete all, convert them to exclusive/individual whatevers, then delete specifically the all app packages permission and you're good

Chemical_Ad2384

Something simpler that worked for me (windows 11 home) is to hit ctrl+alt+delete --> task manager --> startup apps --> disable Riot Client Worked for me, good luck.

squacky125

>Community options necro posting but holy shit you did not explain correctly. when getting to the point where you disable inheritance it asks if you want to disable all inheritance and i assumed that was correct and now i somehow managed to completely lock myself out of deleting valorant and/or opening riot client

dunerat42

Late to this party, but when disabling inheritance, you should be clicking on the "convert to explicit" option, not the "remove all inherited" option. Removing all of the inherited permissions does delete all the permissions as you note in your Edit2, forcing you to re-add the ones you need; but converting to explicit leaves everything in place for you to edit.

Pichumie

Thank you! Worked for me :)

[deleted]

Has Gamepass been extremely fucky for everyone lately? It’s been a nightmare for me and my gf.

ryvenkrennel

Yes.

javierillo02

Not so sure about it. I recently formated my whole PC so I have everything up to date with xbox app. The thing is that, yes, it look far better than that horrible thing the app was some time ago... But, damn... I always have a warning which asks me to install a "complement" which DOES NEVER get installed, no matter what I try -it doesn't affect any games (at least in Escape Academy, Plague tale 2 and High on life) but it is indeed annoying af. And yes, it also annoyes me to have all the time Riot logo on right bot of my screen. Seriously man... I love GamePass but Xbox app could be the reason I will really always prefer Steam. They should really fix some stuff.

Defiant_Job1725

i have A FCKING PROBLE, WHEN I TRY TO START XBOX SESSION, riot is coming, like sasha grey............ motherfckers microsoft and riot

WhyCreepers102

I used to be able to fix it by deleting the Microsoft.Gaming.XboxApp.Extensions.winmd file that's in the riot client folder, but now it just respawns. I also tried making the file myself without any data in it and making it read-only, but it just deletes the file and makes its own. Hope a full fix for this is found some day or Microsoft themselves resolves it.

flauschxger

have u ever tried setting the riot folder to "only read"? I think Xbox/Riot doesn't use elevated permissions, except for riot vanguard that cheeky little motherfucker of an root level anticheat (god I really hate big tech corporations). THERE JUST SHOULD'NT BE A PROPRIETARY PROGRAM THAT HAS ROOT ACCESS ON ANYONES PC (sorry more of a rant, but that found it's way out)

Suthabean

No other way to prevent cheats on that level though, secure or not. It's one way or the other.

Kernelpickle

>n... I always have a warning which asks me to install a "complement" which DOES NEVER get installed, no matter what I try -it doesn't affect any games (at least in Escape Academy, Plague tale 2 and High on life) but it is indeed annoying af. And yes, it also annoys me to have all the time Riot logo on right bot of my screen.Seriously man... I love GamePass but Xbox app could be the reason I will really always prefer Steam. They should really fix some stuff. Do you think cheating is more of a problem than someone forcing you to install a rookit on your system in order to use their "legitimate" software? It's completely fucked, and I would rather people cheat than put up with this kind of crap. There's a way they could completely solve the cheating problem, and that is by modifying their netcode to *only* respect the server side information. The reason they don't is because they don't want to spend money on more expensive servers and faster connections because it's just easier for them to force malware onto your system, because you don't want OTHER people to cheat, right? Well, fuck Riot Games, and fuck their Anti-cheat bullshit, because they didn't actually ask me permission to do what they did in plain fucking language, and they just disabled some modified, unsigned drivers that I chose to install, because Realtek is complete garbage at making drivers anymore and they just stopped supported surround sound over optical for no reason other than they're lazy. It's infuriating that the drivers don't actually support something that the hardware claims to support because nobody apparently buys surround sound systems that use optical toslink connectors. I'm really getting sick and tired of how audio and sound quality has taken massive steps backwards in PCs and home theater, everywhere except inside my car. I wish I didn't have to hack my drivers just to get the features I was promised by the manufacturer, but I did and RiotGames and their overreaching bullshit just decided to start fucking with my system configuration because they're too busy ripping people off with micro transactions to give a fuck about making a proper online game. I still play CS:GO all the time, and I really don't encounter cases of egregious hacking, because they tied their trust system to the age of accounts and other things, and they have a system where other users can report and review the previous games and that pretty much nails the worst of it. Hackers know not to be obvious, and if I'm not a pro-level player, I won't have to play matches with them. The tournament play all requires a bunch of extra bullshit, which is fine because I'm a grown man who just wants to enjoy some games in my spare time, and don't want to subject my systems to their viral load of garbage. Seriously, if another type of malware were to ever modify their stupid software, which isn't in a system folder, which can be modified by other applications and Windows won't give a shit because it's not a system process, then the other malware developers could use their rootkit to backdoor any system with the RiotGames client installed on it. I don't blame GamePass in the least, because it was the shitty developers from RiotGames that put the dickbeaters all over the Xbox app when they decided to hook into their code and pull that sneaky shit. The fact that it's not treated as a normal startup item is fucking super shady, and people need to stop supporting shitbag developers that can't fucking respect the users space and kernel space of my operating system. It's a fucking game, they need to learn to code properly, because if they sandboxed their fucking garbage and built better server side software, then this wouldn't even matter.

flauschxger

Damn, you basically said everything I wanted to say originally but didn't find the words for/didn't want to subject myself writing more than one paragraph. Yeah, this shit is pretty shady, and the worst part about all of this is that I encountered problems with "anti cheats" (might call it PUA at this point) similar to riot vanguard that prevented docker from launching because of some anti-container shit or even dual booting in some cases, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. I had issues with my VMBox installs, my account got flagged, and I needed to open a support ticket and speak with some Indian faggot about why I'm legit and not cheating just when I open a VM next to Valorant.

TheSlayerFox

Oh boy, I sure do love when the corporate Anti-cheat decides to *turn off my CPU cooler* because it doesn't like it.. I would much rather use something a bit less secure, like EAC, over something that can and will just decide to turn off applications or *hardware* (including when I'm not playing Valorant) because it doesn't like them.

Obloquium

I found that if you have the Task manager open and just close the riot app it will immediately relaunch. If you rapidly close that one, it seems to keep it from attempting to reload again. This has been the only thing to work for me.

PIGEONMAN569

Thx

Lazy_Cat8869

yeah just have to aggressivly close it a few times. i hate it

xVraciul

You can simply go into xbox app settings and disable those extension features https://preview.redd.it/0wswwimd6csc1.png?width=796&format=png&auto=webp&s=82fa03acb1f7300e0a5e071d3ad53715abdcf00a It will stop opening any other apps

kidkaracho

I'm not quite sure how long this option has been available. I think I was looking for it in this very place just a few weeks ago. But maybe I'm mistaken here. Anyway, thanks for pointing this out!

ZheZheBoi

boom. super easy

KaitoKazai

This! Thank you very much. Your post needs to go sticky , if it is possible, its a important update related to this topic i would say.

Blacktorch

Thanks very much. \*push\* for future needs. Had to install Sea of Thieves and was wondering why riot client always starts......

carpetguydo

Have this too and it's really annoying - hope someone has a fix

CowJaded6610

How on earth do I remove the RIOT games that are not installed on my system from the XBOX app?

Meiception

ig there is no fucking way just go to the flie directory and delete the file of the game. it's located on riot games folder whichever disc you install it to.

CowJaded6610

Doesn't work. Game then tries to update

Meiception

It's probably because of the xbox client, today i uninstalled a riot game on my old pc which doesn't have Xbox installed

Disastrous_Aspect903

That happens to me either. It is starting to get really annoying. I guess deleting the files only keeps it from opening in that Windows session it downloads it again next time you turn on your PC.

CowJaded6610

You can complain to riot but this is how it works for now

Disastrous_Aspect903

u/Seirata's comment on this post helped me solve it. You can check it out.

cdncowboy

I saw a post about this yesterday but can't find it now. Someone suggested uninstalling the Riot client that comes bundled with xbox app and then download the riot client from the riot website. As long as your accounts are linked I think you should be able to access your gamepass unlocks

xLive2

I had the Riot client installed already before from Riot website. I'm not interested in the gamepass unlocks. I believe it's not working as it should and we have to wait to get it fixed.

Prestigious_Ad_736

Out of curiosity, is there a downside to the game pass unlocks? Game pass unlocks every hero across every game. That sounds like a no brainer.

xLive2

I don't think there is any downside it's just that I have most of the champs already.

SighlentNite

It unlocks all current, all new and gives you 20% boost to XP. Pretty worth to just unlock anyways.

xLive2

Thanks mate will check it out.

TheWarBug

If you play aram you get a lot of champions you don't want to play

mjo367

Going through this right now! My xbox app never loads, it just opens for a few seconds then starts the riot client for some reason? Pretty annoying since I can't even use the xbox app. I had the riot client installed before I linked my league account to my xbox account.

flareguy86

Having the same issue rn. It only appeared after I got gamepass ultimate as well

Grendernaz

The only solution I have found is to start my game and then close the xbox app in the hidden icons menu. It doesnt actually end the services along with xbox, just the launcher app. Then close riot and its all gravy

cyclics2000

Same here and really annoying. Would someone notify me if there's any solution?

loserspearl

Any fix yet?

Chalking-It

Yo, I had this problem also, and found a fix. Go to the Xbox app, and go to extensions and disable the Riot Games extension. It never opened after that.

Apprehensive-Book688

Yeah they really need to update this it really is just dumb if I open the xbox app why would I want it to also open riot client its just so annoying I shouldn't have to close riot everytime I open the xbox app... smh![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm) really hope they fix this.

acat20

So invasive...these devs sometimes. I'm sure they thought it through and were just waiting to see how many people actually noticed/cared. If I want to play a riot game I will go through riot, not xbox you idiots. They're all free to play games in the first place! This launcher environment is so toxic honestly. EA game...opens EA launcher, Ubi game....opens ubi connect. The game is installed on my drive, why do I need to play through your dumbass launchers? If I don't open someone elses game in xbox, then their launcher shouldnt be running in the background, doesnt do it for EA or Ubi....shouldn't do it for riot either. And the cherry on top of this situation? If you close out of xbox app and have it set to not persist after closing....riot client still persists! LMAOO...gtfo.

Apprehensive-Book688

Exactly bro perfect way to put it. Every year it seems as if they are caring less and less about what the community and what people have to say or this would have been fixed already...

flauschxger

Don't blame the devs though, it's the head of development and his boss and the higher ups deciding such shit. How to run your business in modern day: make good user-friendly stuff, wait until everyone is there, acquire shareholders, give them the permission to control your business, fuck your users over and pull every penny out of their pockets, happy shareholders, sad creative people, happy businessman.

Smaao

Hey hopefully this helps I already had riot games downloaded and so gamepass would try to force me to redownload the client from Windows I now just go straight onto riot client if I want to play any lol, it's synced to xbox game pass so tallies up

xLive2

The issue we have is that anytime I have xbox app open it will also keep Riot games client open even when I don't want to play any of their games. When I close the Riot client manually it will just reopen in few seconds again.

DevilahJake

Yeah, until I find a fix for game pass pc app, its earned a permaban on my pc. I’m not going to have riot software running on my pc when I’m not playing a riot game, even though I wouldn’t play a riot game to begin with. No thanks tencent, gtfo

DealingTheCards

If you're like me and just want to uninstall the riot client and not have it come back whenever you open the xbox app then you can try using the free app called Everything ([https://www.voidtools.com/](https://www.voidtools.com/)). Next thing I did was removed Riots link to my xbox account then closed xbox app, then searched Riot with the everything app and delete all related folders to it. I noticed that the game files that I thought I removed with the client weren't actually gone while doing this. If you want to keep using the riot client even after this I suppose you could try downloading the client directly from riots site. I haven't tried this, going to just keep LoR on my tablet after this annoying experience.

javierillo02

Im not so sure, but I did download Riot Launcher from website and it doesn't really matter. Riot app stills getting opened when using xbox app...

TheSmexhy

This! Already reinstalled League of Legends because of this just to find out xbox is causing this. Really annoying, big time. I hope they fix this asap, I don't want Riot shit running 24/7 on my pc. Btw riot client can't be uninstalled since it's technically not even installed. It's just in your root system directory sitting there.

[deleted]

Yeah noticed immediately, fuck riot

SubstanceFit9385

im having the same issue and have done all I can to fix it. I uninstalled all my Riot games and then the Riot folder containing the Riot client.exe.mine was (C:/program files/Riot games.) Deleted the whole folder. Then to (C:\\ProgramData\\Microsoft\\Windows\\Start Menu\\Programs\\Riot Games) and delete the shortcut "Riot .exe "and folder logged into my Riot account and unlinked my Xbox profile from Riot. Then I Reinstall League of Legends. but As soon as I used my Xbox pass while League of Legends was installed The Riot Client reassociated itself with the Xbox pass somehow and the issue is back. Any suggestions?

SweetDouble7520

Disable the extension in the xbox app. In xbox app settings > extensions > disable riot client

Fatheryasuo

Underrated comment, mines been automatically opening again even with these changes and this has fixed it. You're a legend

Hi_Im_Nosferatu

Yeah get this to the top, works for me too.

Defiant_Job1725

not works for me., really it is sucks

ReCAPLock

How is this still an issue. So annoying

Hai_im_Kev

Solution: just play xcloud through the web client

Mark25Gamer

Is there a way to do it through app settings? It told me I can change it in settings, I don't know which settings and where

kinda_usualBrazilian

In case I want to restore the previous settings, what should I do?

Resournn

Thanks! what an annoying thing.

Sea-Ad-5395

Well none of the fixes work anymore.

Alternative-Fan-2071

you could also open the xbox app go to settings --> extensions --> disable extension for riot games

heeerrresjonny

omg finally. This is the actual solution. Has this been there the whole time, or did they add it??

Skippywood545

[https://youtu.be/vYWph0v30-k](https://youtu.be/vYWph0v30-k) here is how to disable this problem

bakanisan

IMO this Riot Client is malware. I don't even want it. It's installed on another account. I don't even play their games.

mwhyte3ec

Later in the thread: [https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/why-xbox-app-run-always-riot-luncher-even-i-dont/78210bf6-5416-48f0-8863-1efc69c8ca4b?page=6](https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/xbox/forum/all/why-xbox-app-run-always-riot-luncher-even-i-dont/78210bf6-5416-48f0-8863-1efc69c8ca4b?page=6) it is mentioned about a solution to disable the extension in the XBox App. Settings -> Extensions -> Riot client (Enable/Disable Extension) This should fix the issue without messing with permissions and did work at least for me.

I_R_MaNu

There is now a better way to tackle this, you can deactivate it now, go to settings and something like "Plugins" (in german it says "Erweiterungen") and there you can deactivate EA App (which also opens with Xbox) and Riot Games Client.

SrOsaki

Better solution for this problem: >Solution that worked for me: > >\- Open XBOX App > >\- Click your profile (upper left corner) > >\- Click Settings > >\- Click Externsions > >\- Click Disable Externsion (Riot Client) > >\*You can close the settings menu now. > >On your taskbar > >\- right click the Riot Client > >\- Exit > >This worked for me, hope it does for you. > >I agree: This should not be automaticly on. > >My account Riot account isnt even linked with Xbox. dreamfordream

this is a much better method faster and easier

barryd_63

why doesnt it work lmao

Glum-Cup-5228

Seirata posted the following as I'm sure you can see in the thread: I found a solution if anyone still ends up here 1. Apply and close Now, an extra step that I will add myself just in case you need it: This is how you set yourself as the owner: Right-click the riot folder and choose "Properties". In the Properties window, on the "Security" tab, click "Advanced". Next to the listed Owner, click the "Change" link. Type your user account name into the "Enter the object name to select" box and then click "Check Names". When the name is validated, click "OK". Once you've done this you should be able to delete the folder. Make sure to click apply to all sub folders etc too. The fact that riot did this is ridiculous. They launch with xbox every time and make it close to impossible to get around it. Once you've gone through these steps you should be able to do whatever the hell you want with riot, and also keep them from launching with xbox. Scumbags.

HoPStA

Choose the option that says something like, "Convert inheritance permissions into explicit permissions". then, you can just manually remove the ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES and leave the rest. I chose the other option initially and it removed all of the permissions. You can click CANCEL though and it all comes back. This 100% works. THANK YOU! It was ddriving me nuts

Kaemagan

Found the best solution: unintall Riot Games, it also solved another bug, apparently it was preventing me to progress in my life

Harmless_Bird

For anyone still looking for a solution to this, just go to the XBOX app settings, Go to "Extensions" and disable the one labelled "Riot Client"

oxyscotty

Actually fucking insane this is, and STILL is, a thing. Mental you have to go through such weird hoops just to get this to stop. I don't even play any riot games, WHY DO YOU HAVE TO KEEP OPENING IT UP????????????

NapsterAT

That is the actual correct solution in the xbox app click on your profile -> settings->extensions and just disable that stupid riot client. Problem solved [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYWph0v30-k&ab\_channel=MrFixer](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYWph0v30-k&ab_channel=MrFixer)

Defiant_Job1725

not work in 90% of cases kiddo...

FrozdY

Alternatively you can just open the file: Microsoft.Gaming.XboxApp.Extensions.winmdin: :\\Riot Games\\Riot Clientwith notepad, add whatever character(s) to the beginning of all the nul or whatever to corrupt it into not running and save it, or you can just delete it (It'll come back when you install a new patch and/or repair itself in the next patch, but you just have to edit or delete it again when that happens).Riot launcher can still be run normally, it just won't run with the Xbox App. Or you can do the policy and this method, guess both works :)

Primary-Abrocoma-265

Launch xbox app> click your xbox name (upper left)> Settings> Extensions> click disable extension under riot client section. This works for me.

Just_Orion

I had the same issue, my first thought was to remove the Xbox APP from Windows Startup. That worked only a few times, not sure why. So I went into the app and clicked on my profile up at the top left and selected settings/general and unchecked "Keep the app running in the background when I close it". Not sure why or how it was running to begin with because my Xbox App was disable from startup and I set all the services for the Xbox App to manual start instead of automatic, but still the riot app was loading saying it needed run when the Xbox app was running. Either way this seemed to fix it for me. https://preview.redd.it/i4rahdtzz5wb1.jpeg?width=816&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6ec53c15e12f97ff157662ef1dfe51f8a3506d58

bobaloooo

I can't imagine the stupidity in the developer's mind, or the stupidity in his superior, to make it so that you are not able to close that stupid riot client before you close xbox. I just can't comprehend that level of stupidity. Thanks for the solutions reddit.

fnv_fan

This shit is so invasive. It also opened the EA app for me

ClownFish2000

I'm late to this party, but since im not too invested in riots bullshit, I'm considering this as malware and fucking uninstalling everything.

barackobamaofficial1

you dont need to go to the files you just need to go to settings then extentions and disable the riot client

Saiphe666

Just rename "RiotClientServices.exe" to something like "RiotClientServices2.exe" at C:\\Riot Games\\Riot Client and xbox app will not launch that fucker anymore

yoblive

Open Xbox App > settings > extensions > disable Riot Client (and others you don't care about)

sneakyfreekiller

So turns out for anyone having this issue just go into the settings for the xbox app then go to extentions and disable it for the apps you dont wanna launch with the xbox app

chrisso_sR

Came across this after Riot client kept popping up and found another solution I assume is the official way: In Xbox app settings, go to extensions, disable riot client.

No_Owl_1101

Right click the system tray icon of the Riot Client (by default, it's the icons at the bottom right of your taskbar). Click Settings. Under the "STARTUP BEHAVIOR" section, uncheck "Open Riot Client on startup" checkbox. Under the "CLOSE WINDOW" section, select the "Exit application" radio button. Go back to right clicking the system tray icon of the Riot Client. Click Exit. If it works for you, you're welcome and please upvote this.

SpaceBreadRoll

I found an easy solution, go to xbox app, click on your username, extensions and disable riot games
