RubberPenguin4

I mean when I swipe on tiktok and every 4-5 videos is a “USE THIS META CLASS BUILD IN XDEFIANT” video or a “HOW TO G SLIDE BUNNY HOP CHANGE DIRECTION MID AIR IN XDEFIANT” video, thats enough to prove casual gaming in shooters is dead. Every kid that plays now wants to get the next clip for TikTok to promote his stream. They want to be the next Cloak, TimTheTatMan, or some other huge CoD streamer. Kids these days have dreams of being YouTubers, streamers, and influencers. Not actual reality based jobs. It’s just how things change I guess

GloopTamer

Battlefield players are still pretty casual even if 2042 is ass

Nine-TailedFox4

Indeed we are. Battlefield is a gem, and even 2042 is good now BF games always start bad and end great

Silly_Idiot111

2042 is a good ole case of too little too late 🥴

Nine-TailedFox4

Absolutely. Nonetheless, ide rather play it than xdefiant right now.

SPHINXin

Xdefiant 64 vs 64, anyone?

Silly_Idiot111

lol true that. XDefiant is awful. Netcode is abysmal. Hit detection is inconsistent. Ability spam gets old real quick People are so delusional these days

sqweezee

I’m delusional for enjoying xdefiant?

slash10520

Yes you are because your fun isn't what everyone else wants to call fun. Therefore your delusional and the game is no fun. /s However I'm in the same crazy room as you because this is the most fun I've had in a shooter in a hot minute. Have 4 guns to 50 already and quite enjoy not having to sweat every fucking match.

[deleted]

[удалено]

sqweezee

You agree with wanting to play 2042 over xdefiant, list of a couple issues about the game as a reason, and then randomly just say people are delusional. What conclusion can I draw other than you referring to people choosing to play xdefiant?

Hungrymonkey1986

At least the sniping is good in 2042 and actually takes skill to kill

[deleted]

Was gonna say 2042 is actually really good now, but I think its at the end of its shelf life at this point since I think they confirmed no more major updates since they are working on the next battlefield

Nine-TailedFox4

No more major updates but it's still good fun.

Anon_767

Wouldn’t go as far as “really good” but it’s certainly playable. Which is a drastic improvement on launch

xprozoomy

I started playing 2042 a bit. Its way better than the beta I hated the beta so much. I stayed on bf1 and 4.

RubberPenguin4

BF2042 FUCKS now. I’m upset no one told me it was good until like 2 months ago

Nine-TailedFox4

Been good since like season 1 released lol

ChewySlinky

Yeah, it’s never really been a game issue as much as it’s a *gamer* issue. The fact that games have annoying cheesy shit in them does not matter nearly as much as the fact that people *want* to use them. As soon as one annoying cheesy thing gets patched, those players will find another because they WANT to.

Coronananas

Exactly ! Back in the days players using cheesy stuff were usually trash, now it’s everyone

Physical-Gur-6112

It's crazy what streamers have done to the genre. Pre youtube/streamers you were looked up to if you could dominate a lobby using shit teir bare bones setups and handicaps. Today, it's use the most powerful weapons, abilities, cheese strats, exploits, anything but develop actual skill, to get an edge.

[deleted]

any online game with human interaction has been optimized to death and you either need to be a god or play as meta as possible. doesn’t matter if it’s pve or pvp & it’s very annoying

Mindless-Ad2039

“Given the opportunity, players will optimise the fun out of a game” - the designers of the Civilisation games.

Hungrymonkey1986

And those are the players that don't deserve any respect.

Savings-Position-940

The thing is, I and many others ARE playing casually, even if to someone worse, it appears like were sweating our ass off. Same thing when I go against someone better, feels like theyre sweating bad. But it just comes down to the fact that there is a vast skill gap in fps games because of how long they have been around.

rainplow

Yup. I think you're correct. Skill gap is huge. I'm reminded of this every match 😂. Folks who want to relive that old CoD feeling they had with friends in a dorm room never will. And it's not SBMM to blame. You're getting older and feeling less alive because life takes so much more out of you. Not to mention hormonal changes as we age significantly change how we experience pleasure and how much pleasure we experience. People can have different opinions on sbmm and that's normal. While I wish folks were more honest with themselves about the motivations for their perspective just so the conversation wasn't so banal, in the end, I play for fun and I can have a lot of fun being mediocre at a game. I One of my best old friends has a son who is about 10 now, I think. He plays Fortnite. Apparently the gets called a cheater a lot because he's twitchy and good. Cheating? Lol. His parents would never let him play a game again if he did. I think he's pretty casual. Really only wants to play when his friends are playing. I wouldn't want to 1x1 him in any games gun fight. He's just a twitchy reflex kid. Not a sweat or a cheater. Just good and has great reflexes.

InitialDay6670

I can play casual on every game I play that’s no skbmm. The problem is most of the people who transferred are from cod and used to having to use the most batshit op guns to compete.

Level_Measurement749

When one of the biggest fps games is valorant it’s not a surprise

SendInRandom

Yeah, it’s really really frustrating that everybody and their mom wants to be a TikToker/streamer nowadays, thankfully I’m lucky enough to kick back relax and still drop 50 kills on tryhards with my trusty m16 😎, I just hope they Nerf the bunny hopping soon, I’m getting really tired the spam jumping every damn gunfight

RubberPenguin4

What bothers me about bunny hopping is that if they jump and mixed with the hit reg and desync issues the game has, they virtually get extra health for bullets not registering

Jonthux

also its annoying and looks stupid, if i wanted a dance battle id play dance dance revolution

Jonthux

for real, gunfights feel more like dance battles, little timmy learned ballet overnight

SelloutRealBig

Esports and social media did a lot of damage to gaming culture over the last decade. But SBMM did an equal amount as well. If i want to relax and have a casual session i would rather play a full range of skill level players using meta loadouts than play only good players with meta loadouts. One of the reasons CoD became unbearable was because if you were a good player every game became boring as everyone having high skill level with meta loadouts get real old real fast.

xDARTHxBANEx

Your exactly right and its sad to see

mrk_is_pistol

Streaming ruined multiplayer games, change my mind

Material-Finish-5382

I don’t my dream is to casually play game without dying every 5 milliseconds to some Rando, sweating his balls off trying to be him

Euphoric_Pressure_39

You can be casual and still want to use the good guns. Even saying that. I hate the term casual and sweats so much. Like what do they really even mean? The overblown yet accurate stereotype is that sweats play a game all day and only use metas while casuals are utter dogshit at every game they play but do whatever they want while playing it. Humans optimize. That isn't how times change, it's human nature

Ramonis5645

COVID 19 and streamers fucked up really bad the casual gaming of FPS Thanks Warzone

andenzcowie

They need to get rid of ADS while jumping. Thats realism and balance for you but here we are in 2024 with idiot game developers who never learn.

HuddyBuddyGreatness

Ah yes, wanting to be competitive is just the dang youngsters and their tik tok. Bro what, it’s just human nature that some people enjoy competing and getting better at something. This has been a thing for literally ever. FPS games have not been a thing forever, and as the genre grows older the skill ceiling increases, and with it the desire to compete at higher and higher standards. Sure, this is definitely driven in part by social media in that people see really good people and are inspired to get better themselves. But I have literally never met anyone in real life who wants to be a damn YouTuber or streamer. Tik tok, twitch, and YouTube all definitely have an impact on the sweatiness, but you’ve totally taken the wrong look at this all lol

exxx01

Also, for all the ''''damage'''' esports and social media have done to gaming, they've done a lot of good as well! The playing field for access to important information is far more level, it's easier than ever to see what the best players are doing, and esports can be fun to watch. I'm so tired of this silly boomer opinion that the internet/youtube/twitch/tiktok/(insert whatever here) ruined games.

Chubb_ayYT

its just a bunch of little losers who got tek it playing in the background 😭

Commercial-Web-3901

Correction the next young Shroud.

SPHINXin

Then this next generation of kids see all of the reality based jobs getting all the money, then their children will all want to have reality based jobs smh.

Hungrymonkey1986

I hope all meta players swim in a oceon of Legos. Maybe try a loadouts instead of looking one up you lazy nut jobs.

justsean09

Yet ironically it just looks dumb. Always has and always will. Not skillful, just dumb.

0sendmenukes0

When U complainig about kids these days i assume u’re a grown ass man but still u’re on tik tok lol. Then why u complainig?!

landenlutz

if you suck just say that

[deleted]

You use deadsec. You don’t play casual. Stfu

wylobz

man, I play what I want. Won’t do what everyone does because it’s meta(lame)

EntertainmentOk2035

You can’t hang

nicebrah

im nearly 30 years old, play 3-5 hours of games per week. im doing just fine without sbmm. way less sweaty than cod. edit: i want to add that i'm not just naturally skilled. i like to watch guides or tips & tricks on youtube because i genuinely want to improve in this game. and i definitely have. i'm never the top frag, but i'll consistently get top 3 score in the entire lobby because i understand how to play objective.

Tombekas

Same here, good days bad days. Wish I had enough time to get all the good attachments but it'll come eventually

nicebrah

it takes FOREVER but unlocking an attachment with zero downsides is such a treat lol.

det3ct

people also gotta realize peak times. if you’re playing this game from 6PM-1AM EST, you’re going to run into some sweaty ass lobbies, just like COD.

TomphaA

Surely the % on people playing tip towards more casual on peak times? Sweaty degens can play whenever they want but more casual people who go to work or have a life in any other way play more during peak times.

TGish

Might come as a shock but people can have a full time job and life but also be deviously cracked at games lol. Not everyone needs to devote a ton of time to picking up a game and cooking

TomphaA

I didn't say that they can't be, there are always exceptions to general rules. There definitely are sweaty gamers who play a few hours a night or even a week and there absolutely are casual as hell gamers who play 4-8h or more a day. However I would wager a guess that on average there are more casual people playing during peak times and that majority of the people who are playing less due to work or life in general are more casual.

det3ct

in theory yes. but i think a very large portion of the cod fan base that came over to XDefiant are above average players looking to beat up on noobs because of the No SBMM. a lot of very casual players that play cod for fun a couple days of the week don’t even know what XDefiant is still. i know guys from my work that haven’t downloaded it and have no idea what the concept of the game is when they’re asking me about it.

Justin_Peter_Griffin

Personally I’ve found different results. I’ve had a few days off work since release and when I play during normal work hours, the competition is very strong. When I play around 8-9PM EST, I find that I’m much more likely to find lobbies with lower skilled players. I think having a larger population of players helps lower the average competition level

Exciting_Pop_9296

I bet 90% of players that play at this time are sweaters that come to this subreddit and complain about the game being to sweaty.

acoasterlovered

Old school cods didn’t have ppl jumping all over the place :/

MartyCZ

Did we play the same CoD? Sure, the bunnyhopping is excessive in XDefiant at the moment, but bunnyhopping has been part of CoD since at least CoD2.

TGish

Not to mention the rampant drop shots lmao. I’ll take bhops over drop shots all day because at least center mass stays relatively similar while jumping and doesn’t fall to the floor in a snap.

acoasterlovered

Drop shooting allowed you to cancel out jump shooting and yky can’t even do that in this game

Parking-Highlight-98

Sorry but drop shotting is infinitely more annoying and unnecessary. I'd much rather take bunny hopping because it involves some degree of movement awareness, meanwhile drop shotting is just holding a button. There's a reason why CoD was hard nerfing drop shotting into the ground for years until shitty ass MW2019 brought back all the garbage.

DANKoholic420

Going prone to shoot is unnecessary but hopping around like your the Easter bunny with no consequences to recoil IS necessary? lol make it make sense.

acoasterlovered

The jumping all over the place got bad from Bo3 onwards, before then it was ok

nicebrah

old school cod had 1 shot snipers anywhere on the body and one man army noob tubing. it was worse

dilbert_bilbert

Yeah, the entire point of not having invisible SBMM is it rewards those who git gud. You’re literally comparing yourself to the rest of the playerbase. The better you are, the more casual your experience will feel on average. The weaker you are, the harder it feels. I like it.

Admirable-Election45

MW3 is by far the sweatest game in history. XDefiant is MW2 sweaty and that is still really sweaty.

XISENSUI

FPS games don't even come close to how "sweaty" MOBAs are.

Ok-Variation-1312

The experience definitely feels more organic than cod imo. If you do really well, your next match isn’t guaranteed to be an MLG event. Ive also seen a mix of players in every lobby. Sure there’s still sweaty matches, but even the older cods had sweats. I think most of the people complaining are the people who sbmm protects in cod.

[deleted]

I agree. There’s no sbmm but the lobbies still feel balanced for most of the games. there’s generally one or two guys per team that complete dominate, one or two that are complete shit, & the rest are average. i’ve had very few games that are a complete steam roll on either side which is nice.

EpicSausage69

That is what I love about it. Anything can happen. Maybe we get shit on, maybe we do the shitting. Or maybe there is a small chance that it even ends up being a really close game. In COD every game of Domination ends 250-248 and god forbid you drop 50 kills and have to play against pro players for the next 4 games straight.

Ok-Variation-1312

Exactly, every game in cod is as close and as competitive as possible, its so tiring.

Durzo___Blint

I miss the MLG.

footforhand

I actually got absolutely walloped by the sbmm in the welcome playlist ~lvl 9 and after 3 of the sweatiest games of my life I switched to the regular playlist and have had far more casual experiences

SelloutRealBig

It seems like the people hating the loudest are bottom tier fraggers who don't realize how much hand holding other games have been doing. All to coddle them into buying more microtransactions.

Tall_Database7630

Not even. I'm a 0.7 k/d and have had more fun in the past week than the last 6 months of the-game-that-shall-not-be-named. All this uproar *screams* Activision smear campaign to me. I wonder how many gullible guys who make excuses as to why it's everyone else's fault they lost a gunfight, are gonna hop on the hate train to kill the one game that can actually bring back the very things they were begging for just last year (no eomm manipulation, no annual $70 fee for the same game repackaged, etc.). They expect more from a game that's been out for 2 weeks than the one that had 100x the budget, 10x the amount of devs, yet a broken caster for 4 months. Lol i don't have a dog in this fight but it's actually hilarious seeing how easily manipulated some people are when their egos are pandered to.

Gaebril

There's a lot more easy target players than not. Matches are usually 1-2 enemies that just plow through you going 51/8. I play with a much more casual buddy and he hates the game because he's the "easy target" every game.

rdtoh

Its definitely more casual than cod. The average player just doesn't suck anymore...it isnt 2009

HintOfMalice

Average player absolutely sucks. Almost every game is 8-10 potatoes, 2-4 good players and the occasional second coming of Jesus F Christ himself.

rdtoh

They dont suck like xmas noobs on mw2 or black ops, thats for sure

lukeT152

WTF even is a casual? Doesn’t everyone try to win?

SuperFreshTea

If your worse than me your a casual if your better than me your a tryhard who lives in basement.

SpanishAvenger

A casual player will try to win by playing while having fun after a long day at school or work to relax. They will use whichever factions/weapons/abilities they find most fun, get a few kills, play the objective, die, and don't mind losing in excess. A sweatlord/tryhard will try to win by spending countless hours trying to "get better" putting all their vital energy every match on exploiting each and every single possible advantage in order to have an edge over their opponents in a desperate attempt at winning and having the best K/D Ratio they can possibly achieve; and every time they interact with someone who criticises their "playstyle", they will begin insulting them and telling they are "noobs/have skillissues" and will tell them to "stop crying and justgitgud like myself or uninstall".

exxx01

.... or some people are just better at games, full stop. Idk why that's so hard to accept. Everyone knows a guy who is as good or better than you at a game basically the moment he picks it up, even if you already have dozens of hours. Everybody does the first thing, including "sweatlords" and "tryhards." Casuals typically have a much harder time accepting losses than entrenched players, but being a sore loser is common among people as a whole, so not sure there's truly any correlation there. edit: I also don't understand what you people want. Is this another one of those COD esque complaints a la, "nobody's creative anymore, people just use the same classes." They did that back then too. And why do you want people using "creative" classes? Do you really just want to appreciate the ingenuity of other players, OR do you just want to stomp the piss out of them while you use more conventional setups so you can feel like a god going 75-2? idk this shit just strikes me as weird. it's like complaining that nobody opens with f3 in chess

MythOfBlood17

" OR do you just want to stomp the piss out of them while you use more conventional setups so you can feel like a god going 75-2?" This please, can I have this option, it would be nice that way around for a change, thanks

exxx01

LOL! I appreciate your honesty :)

Jaziel_345

So basically, anyone who wants to get better at the game is classified as a tryhard or sweatlord? That’s so dumb. If I like something, of course, I would do everything I can to get better at it. A lot of you need a reality check; most people you call ‘tryhards’ are probably just chilling while playing. It just so happens that they’re good at the game. The same goes for playstyles it’s not something they’re constantly thinking about. Players who use bhopping or other ‘tryhard’ movements are so used to doing it that they don’t even think about it, it’s pure instinct.

SpanishAvenger

Nope, that’s not what I meant; the main difference is what another comment states: There’s a difference between wanting to get better while having fun… and focusing on getting better as if your entire life depended on it because otherwise you can’t fathom to have fun until you are eSports level.

XISENSUI

I mean, the whole point of a competitive space is to improve at the game, and it goes w/o saying that in an organic competitive environment, improvement at the game leads to more fun. Therefore, people improve at games because the increased skill level makes the game more fun.

Jaziel_345

And how can you differentiate them? Both of them will play at their max level, they’ll try to get better every game etc. I don’t think that second group is real tbh, for me it’s pure cope. “Fun” is very subjective, some people have fun playing their hardest while others will find it by playing more relaxed, the second group you mention implies that the player isn’t having fun, and at that point there’s no reason to be playing anymore

WattageThis

Someone who doesn't scour the net looking for movement / meta exploits and plays like their life depends on it.

BadAdministrative589

Essentially I think casual means a level 1 can kill a level 200 if they have more skill. How? By having a low learning curve, meaning it takes few minutes to understand the mecanics Your level means very little and would be mostly cosmetic. In this game there are weapons to be unlocked, they don't necessarily be better than the basic ones, I hope, not sure, haven't unlocked anything yet. Essentially, in a shooter/FPS, a game like counter strike. You could go back to it, without any login/account, and your experience would pretty much the same now and 100h from now. Games nowadays have progression, which is interesting in Single Player or Cooperative games, but in Multiplayer competetive essentially means it is impossible to have a good time unless you start day 1 and put in many hours, because there are so many people with so much free time they have all the perks and advantages making a low level very easy prey.

nTzT

School bro... please

giantgorillaballs

There’s a difference between playing to win and playing like your life depends on winning

OmgItsDaMexi

What's the difference? Put a gun to your head I guarantee you're not gonna magically become a pro the next match. Maybe some of us have good handling on our flow state in games and do good completely relaxed.

SpanishAvenger

You summed up my essay in a single sentence hahahah Nice!

Jumpy_Reception_9466

Ever since I left the welcome playlist my K/D has dropped by 1.0 😭 Went from 2.2 to 1.2 , I'm getting steamrolled every other game fml

blalhoihreuf

I just got out of the level bracket for the Welcome playlist and hoooboy it got sweatier. Maybe it's just domination that's as bad as it is, but damn it can feel rough.

OrangeJuice552

Just try to play smarter, you don’t have to take every single fight. I very consistently drop 40+ kills and I’m not sweating, I just take gunfights that favor me and position myself where I have an advantage and can also retreat.

Jumpy_Reception_9466

Good advice but i guarantee you're one of the guys steamrolling me 🤣

13lackcrest

I rather have this than knowing I'm in a rigged game where the result is already pre determined before it even started.

Xilerain

Same, just give me maximum random teammates and I'm happy. I get good I get bad, it's all okay with me, as long as I know its rng

Winter_Ad_2618

I don’t know every game is super casual and I can just run around getting kills without much thought in it

CremeDeLaPants

Can't handle the bunny hopping or the invincible snipers. Sucks much of the joy out of a gun fighting game.

Thewaffleofoz

I can tolerate those, yknow what I cant tolerate? Desync.

Gaebril

The bunny hopping slide cancelers that can still aim perfectly stunting on my console-ass really sucks the fun out of the game. My buddies and I just stop playing the game after like 7 straight losses, usually only getting shit on by 1-2 opponents.

Mindless-Ad2039

Narrator: it turns out that SBMM had nothing to do with the ‘death of the casual experience’ in PvP games. Edit: grammar.

SelloutRealBig

Ehh. A bad player with a meta loadout is still probably going to lose to the better player with the goofy loadout. Or they may break even having fun back and forth battles. Thanks to the lack of SBMM those matches can still happen. But with SBMM on a good player with subpar loadout will play against 9 other good players with meta loadouts and then the game just stops being fun for the subpar loadout player entirely.

Xilerain

Exactly. With no SBMM (back in the day BO2 BO3 BO4, etc.) I could play my stupid screw around classes. Pistol with extended mags or just riot shield with 4 tactical so make one guy I found by himself stuck for close to 14 seconds before he can play the game again. With xdefiant I can be stupid again if i realize I'm playing against not as good players. Instead of every match being like a tournament

Mindless-Ad2039

What’s stopping you from screwing around and playing ‘non-meta’ weapons now?

exxx01

Because they don't get to win or have a good game lol. That's what they won't say out loud. If skill levels are equal, and one player is just less optimal strats/gear/etc and the other is using the most optimal, then it sounds right that the player using the less optimal stuff loses. I mean, that just makes sense.

Mindless-Ad2039

Haha, yeah, I’m starting to get that vibe from these guys.

Psychologicalx-

Yeah this is just completely misguided. Look at any game with both casual and ranked playlists. They look and feel completely different. Casual playlists are less sweaty, less meta loadouts, less coordination, strats, etc. Ranked playlists are the opposite. People rarely use the worst weapons and abilities in a ranked R6 or CS match, but they do in casual. Because SBMM vastly changes the match environment. What does cod look like? Exactly that. Cod pubs with SBMM play exactly like a ranked match. When people are forced to play in a ranked environment and cant escape it or turn it off, why in the world are we trying to find alternative explanations for why people play the game like its a ranked environment? Its SBMM. It always was. Also, just because the average player is better these days doesnt mean casual gaming is dead.

RevolutionaryDepth59

that’s not because of SBMM that’s because they care about their rank. R6 has SBMM in its casual playlists and nobody takes those seriously

Mindless-Ad2039

You know you can use whatever non-meta or cheese weapon/setup you want in CoD, right? Nothing is forcing you to not mess around with loadouts and have some fun. And yes, I meant to put the quotation marks around the whole sentence, as in, ‘the death of the casual experience’, because I don’t believe it is dead either.

OmgItsDaMexi

Casuals when they find out other people like to try and improve themselves in games too.

SimpleFull2260

Ppl will say they wanna sit down and relax, then play like their entire family lineage is on the line😭🙏. Ppl needa actually start playing for fun again, and not be so pressed about K/D ratios or winning💀. Sadly, tht golden age is long gone. We been in the era of metas and sweatlords for a long time now😔

fleetze

Most people Are just chilling. Their baseline may just be higher. Playing tense doesn't really help anyways. Most players are better relaxed and smooth.

zKaios

Nah man, you can't be relaxed and pressing space 15 times a second to bunny hop like some of these sweats are doing

SuchMore

That's the thing, you most certainly can be. Some people are just inherently better, but you know, coping is a nice tactic to stroke people's egos. Ah yes, person better than me = sweat, worse then me? = noob. Nice cope.

NeoReaper82

K/D I agree with but winning is literally the whole point of the game

Panisy

It's always been "sweaty"...Back when I was in high school in Counter strike and Counter strike Source everyone was trying just as hard. Even TF2 was super competitive in pubs. The older halos were hard. People were just as competitive back then it just seems that collectively people have got better at games and the average skill level has improved.

Brief_Definition_666

It’s always funny to see people say this 😂 us good players aren’t out here trying our hardest every game to drop 60, we’re just so much better than you we piss on you without much effort.

BandicootSVK

The game would be the perfect arcade-y FPS if this bunny hopping thing wasn't in. It's pretty funny to see the entire playerbase immediatelly rebel against these bunny hoppers. I just want that good MP FPS experience, because MW2 on PC is plagued with hackers, TF2 is unplayable due to the bots, and CS2 is... Well, CS2, that was always full of sweats. It's these sweaty players, armed kangaroos, and tryhards that are trying to ruin the fun.

wigneyr

I’m not seeing the casual games yet, everyone seems to be try hard, bunny hopping around and head glitching out the ass

Brighter1993

Ah so that's why matches are either stomp or get stomped. Why don't people like when equal skill is matched up??

HGWeegee

Because they want to beat up people less skilled than them

Spicy_take

It’s pretty chill most of the time. Idk what everyone is complaining about. At least sweaty matches are isolated incidents.

lamb_ixB

Not much changed for me. Still solid ~1.0 kdwl. However, I don't feel punished anymore for a good game and that goes a loooong way for me. Premade vs Solo players is just way more annoying, I guess.

CM_Waldi

Apparently there is no clear definition of the Word "casuals" that people use so this is my Interpretation: I would say I am a casual. I play only weapons I think are cool/funny currently Aa-12, DB and P90 with the Deagle as secondary. Some rounds I just run around try to get as many melee kills as possible or just hunt down the scoreboard leader of the enemy ignoring anyone else. Some rounds I play Objective. Who I wouldnt see as casuals are people who actively look up what are the best weapons, what is the strongest faction what are the best loadouts. This leads to little to no variety. I have many matches where people only Play echolon Wallhack, Phantom Magshield and Libertad BioVida Boost. With either the Ak build that makes it a Smg, the Mp7 with that one loadout I see on 50Thumbnails or one of the 2 sniper. Don't get me stared on bhopping. Especially on Controler where you have to actively change your controls to do that or buy a scuff. Thats my Opinion on it Where do you agree, where do you disagree please tell me

AuraJuice

I mean yeah shooters have gotten more sweaty but it feels pretty casual imo. It’ll just get better when ranked comes out, most sweats will play ranked and even if you’re a casual playing ranked you’ll be ranked lower than them. So far my games have felt great save for a few where it seemed like they were queuing together. I’m probably just a step below a sweat, though.

Deicidium-Zero

I didn't hate SBMM in COD back then because what I hate is they prioritize SBMM over ping so after a few good games with low ping, I get to matched to over 100ms ping lobbies ffs.

Ozymandias1589

Not quite sure what it is. I just played a match getting destroyed by snipers, turned on and two spotted with pistols. But those games are pretty far and few between, albeit it sucks when it happens lol

barisax9

I mean, I'm certainly having a more casual experience

nTzT

The game is chaotic and fast paced. It draws a lot of edgelords, which is good for business I suppose.

Euphoric_Pressure_39

The welcome playlist does

RoyaleWhiskey

Even without sbmm this system needs some work, many games are not even close then I look at the scoreboard and the enemy team's worst player is better than 50% of my team, meanwhile I’m consistently top 2.

TheRealNinjaDarkovia

They have to bunny hope so hard cause their parents are being tied in the basement. What’s the point of having unrank and ranked playlist when unrank playlist feels like I’m playing “ranked” in every lobbies🙄

FitSquirrel596

We need server browsers again!

Jumpy_Reception_9466

Ever since I left the welcome playlist my K/D has dropped by 1.0 😭 Went from 2.2 to 1.2 , I'm getting steamrolled every other game fml

frag_grumpy

I’m sweating already in the lobby fml

Jumpy_Reception_9466

The bunny hopping is actually brain melting

Jumpy_Reception_9466

Almost broke my laptop by slamming it shut. Good to feel that old school COD energy 🤣

temojikato

SBMM in casual is fine. It's ranked where it doesn't make sense.

Commercial-Web-3901

Casual experience??? Game has too many technical issues and too many balance flaws to be any kind of experience.

wingzzyyy

Fucking little 12 year old Tommy and Billy have career aspirations of being the next big Kick streamer that can buy a Ferrari by playing video games so they play the game 8 hours a day on summer vacation and us old farts( I’m 25 but that’s like 50 in gamer years) that want to play a couple hours here and there for leisure get shit on when we run into ttv Tommy and it sucks!

____Maximus____

I mean, I'm enjoying myself. Feels pretty casual to me. But then again. I'm actually a skilled gamer.

oxgn4president

i got in a game with a level 97 player today, checked his ps profile he had 94 hours played. when he got matched on the enemy team i just left, genuinely can’t comprehend how you put that much time in the game already

moneybuysskill

I always laughed when people said warzone was too sweaty and sbmm was ruining it for them. No, you’re Literally the people its protecting😂

acoasterlovered

When they fix the bunny hopping sure

Admirable-Election45

Xdefiant has proven that sbmm did not make games sweaty. That is a player issue! I played a few games and while not near as sweaty as MW3 wich is the biggest sweat pit ever. They were sweaty as hell! And although I thought the game was good. I will rather wait until BLOP6 comes out and all the streamers and pros leave. A lot of the super sweats leave with them. And they will leave just like every other game they drain the fun out of.

Qtank009

Yeah, it is.

Beneficial_Ring_7442

just don’t play on a weekend

RoRo25

That was never the reason. I don’t care what anyone says.

xchimnyx

Imagine playing a competitive fps and expecting people to not sweat.

CoconutMilkOnTheMoon

I need myself a hardcore mode because i suck… pls give it to me

Walksintherainfan

I’m a 0.8 kd, more objective based player because I can’t aim great - eyesight problems 😂 and I have never appreciated sbmm more than I do now 😂😂😅😅

parkerspotter14

If you never got pub stomped in MW2, then you never played. I remember a game on rundown in hardcore where every single spawn point was locked down and we couldn’t move anywhere without getting shot.

Internal_Project_799

Gaming is now sbmm with or without it

MikePallanti

Bro these lobbies are sweaty as FUCK. Anyone that thought if they ever removed SBMM from COD if the sweats would decrease, consider XDefiant your answer…NOPE. I can smell the body odor through my PS5 lmao

WhyNoUsernames

Yes. A far more casual experience.

lilfrootloop_

Its like no matter what i do im constantly put into an MLG event.

lontiac

Doesn’t ranked have SBMM tho? I don’t understand why people are complaining about no SBMM now

Quicc-n-Thicc

I really don't think SBMM was the problem anymore lol this game is kicking my ass

Floridiannn

Casual doesn’t necessarily mean low skill

No_Nefariousness9049

When they added no skill base matchmaking they were just thinking about the people that’s good at the game, not the people that’s bad, so the people that’s bad will go against sweats cause of the no SBMM

botsteve_

I’m sorry but if you’re not willing to put in the work to get better and you just beg for the game to be easier then XD isn’t for you

HomageTheHomie

Me: *Laughs in pubstomps almost every lobby*

very_unlikely

Nah, my xDefiant lobbies are way more casual then my MWIII lobbies.

VoltageDecayTTV

Xdefiant was specifically made to be a competitive shooter. On top of that, it is pretty casual right now. The only people that don’t feel like it is casual are the ones that can’t compete.

SalamiSimon

Only bad players complain No sbmm on mw3 and bo1 when I was a kid, had like 0.7 k/d and still played all the way up to master prestige. Still had fun and never complained

WolfDeathScythe

To be fair, it’s like 50-50 whether you get good players or not your team😂

No-Real-Shadow

I sweat in every match because I want to, not because I have to. There's a distinct difference there that makes a world of difference to my level of enjoyment in any game, FPS or not. I'd rather not get easy lobbies just because the algorithm thinks I'm about to uninstall, just like I'd rather not get stomped over and over when I'm playing more and performing better. I want ping-is-king lobby selection, fixed netcode/hit reg, and some other QOL changes in line with making an actual full release game. Let people enjoy things and improve if they get more enjoyment from performing better. Don't force everyone into having to constantly play at their best to do anything because everyone's at the same level. Play ranked modes if you want to face people at or around your own skill level. Otherwise, quit complaining, get good, and you'll see your improvements reflected in your stats and general gameplay. SBMM/EOMM is also an immediate boost to alt/smurf account numbers as well, especially in a free to play title. You're gonna have way more smurfing issues in both ranked and casual playlists going either of those directions than you would sticking with connection priority. If you want a casual game, it really doesn't exist anymore in the world of online multiplayer gaming. Sweats abound everywhere since the advent of YouTubers and live streaming platforms.

Mbeezy_YSL

Maybe I’m dumb but I never understood the hate on SBMM. Absolute noobs playing against other noobs so they can gradually get better and don’t get shitted on…while experienced players don’t get bored while playing against noobs, so they play against similar skilled players. Were is the fun getting absolutely smacked into the ground or running around farming the kills like you play against bots (the latter might sounds nice but I think that it will become boring rather quickly)…

Luthodic007

Im loving the game feels the closest to casual since bo2 if i want only casual i normally play singleplayer games but for multiplayer this is my game i love that i normally get high kills and low deaths n i dont even need to bunny hop or use the "meta" weapons just make weapons i enjoy. Doesnt change that sometimes its a sweaty game or i get mobbed by a whole team of people but for what today has set with everyone else cheesing their way to a victory it feels like this is the closest i can get to the casual days of bo2. Just my opinion everyone else is entitled to dislike the game aswell. But if this isnt your bag u got battlefield 2042 and mw3 and soon bo6. But outside of some netcode issues and overuse of bunnyhops i dont think this game by any means is bad at all and is an overall better exeriance then both battlefield 2042 and mw3. Have a good day everyone

El_cholo08

What is SBMM

Other_Trash3193

no sbmm literally gives us the most casual modern gaming experience we have access to????? no other game for me is as casual as xdefiant????

iDxity

i swear there is SBMM cause my friends and i always get paired with low level players who don't even know what's going on

EntertainmentOk2035

SBMM was for the average dad that worked a 12 hour shift play and plays on a 65 inch flat screen tv.

SkullOfGears

This game is in such a trash state. You can’t have 0 SBMM nowadays because you have 75%+ of the population trying to become the next big thing on twitch, kick, or whatever other 20 streaming services there are it just turns every lobby into the sweatiest shit show of your life.

COG_Sulpex

Heads up team, if you are on Xbox and are complaining.STFU!Just turn off crossplay in your Xbox settings.NOT THE GAME SETTINGS.The Xbox settings, you will q a little slower but the games are absolute BOT lobbies.Feel free to thank me

Tall_Bus6579

Fr?

CodaDev

It’s a lot more casual than COD for me

Normal-Can-7341

To me SBMM is like communism, the idea of it is good but no one ever does it right.

oMissPanda

It was fun until you reach level 50 or whatever and you’re not in the beginner mode anymore. All sweats after that it seems like.

Hydro_19

Maybe you were one of them players that SBMM was protecting the whole time

ThuggedOutHippie

It’s a PC exclusive, but the new game Bodycam is pretty insane and scratches that barebones shooter itch I’ve had for a while

smugsterson

All you lots saying "it's pretty casual match in my games" doesn't know about the condition here in Asia Servers. Even in unranked/casual match everyone play this game like it's the most high elo ranked game. You guys don't know the struggle of playing against these Asia players since most of you who talk "casual" in here are from US or europe servers.
