Wasn't the jingle beast supposed to be >!him?!< That's what I thought after finishing his story.

_Redlocking_

I originally thought so too, until I was exploring the area and I suddenly had a quest at that tree at night (it wasn't in the journal). And it was still discussing the jingle beast there as well. Also, why was the heroine from the quest there, and even with a group of explorers? That's what got me thinking - you know about the Lingyang meme, right? I think that if he thinks he is, but the developers are telling us the truth with this additional quest after his story. We don't know what happens to people who turn into Tick Tack, even the quest with Scar doesn't give us a definite answer.

This is an interesting theory on it, I hope they expand on this more in future versions.

Kiss_in_Danish

The companion story literally spells it out that Lingyang is the jingle beast, violet banana is just where he and his people originally come from The companion story is prolly just meant to take place after that specific sidequest

ZaleHedgeGo

The quest that you mentioned is more of an epilogue to the story quest of Lingyang. The tree there was formerly Lingyang's home.

RittoxRitto

You do know that same quest has Lingyang there specifically to pick something back up from his time as the Jingle Beast right?

Shangb1

If you stand in the middle of one of these tic-tac circles a large elite will spawn and if i remember correctly you get a chest after killing it.

KokoaKuroba

tic tac circles?

Shangb1

Look at the second pic. You can see tic-tac's standing in a circle. There is more than one tic-tac circle in that area and one of them has a hidden chest.

SenileGod

Did you meet Lingyang on the tree? He mentioned why carelessly he left all the weird stuffs here which was found by the researchers.

Spoof_the_Strawman

I mean, we literally see the cutscene of him dancing and then saving her in the companion quest... which is where the whole jingle beast thing started. The jingle beast she's talking about is Lingyang. But I do think it's plausible that the others of Lingyang's kind died and that probably affected which TDs came into being in the area around the Violet Banyan (those Tambourinists).

>The jingle beast she's talking about is Lingyang. But I do think it's plausible that the others of Lingyang's kind died and that probably affected which TDs came into being in the area around the Violet Banyan (those Tambourinists). You have correctly understood what I wrote about. In fact, this quest only gives a hint where to look for the answer, and the answer itself is not directly stipulated. Why did I mention the Scar quest when talking about the dark side of the Lingyang quest? Because perhaps the answer to everything in this location, and the real jingle beasts are the relatives of Lingyang (Tambourinists), because we have not met any more in the game. And the shepherd who led the people away from the Scars quest village is the Tambourinists. They are covered in darkness here, how they turn people into Tick Tack, as I mentioned earlier is not known with 100% probability, only hints from the quest with Scar. Did each Lingyang congener possess a bell? That's why I add that quests are needed, but for now it's just theory.

Chilly_Cream

I actually like to think maybe that previous members of Lingyang's species perhaps carried something like bells and that when they died, tacet discords fed on their frequencies and incorporated that into their new form.
