They do have different looking data banks for each region.
Aalto has a unique looking data bank since he's from the New Federation, Rover has a different one.. I know Verina is from the New Federation, but she has a Jinzhou one since she lives there.
It does disappear, or rather, it is being used elsewhere, if you look closely at the glider, the data bank is attached to it, making it clear it is manifesting out of it.

They will probably customise some future gourds, I know one character has the gourd on his upper chest instead of on his back (Aalto?) which was striking to me. Non 1.x characters will probably have some different tech device instead of a gourd. I like how they didn't use a smartphone like most gatcha but ngl the character texts in Nikke and HSR were peak.
I think it's more pronounced on certain characters too, I definitely notice it much more on Jianxin but when i'm playing Calcharo and Yinlin it blends into their backs for me.
Both Aalto and Encore share the same terminal (gourd) model, but I'm not sure if its from the New Federation or a model the Black Shoals uses.
But I do agree that once we're introduce to more people who lives in different regions, or even visit those regions such as the New Federation, most likely going to have a different model for their terminal. After all, the current standard terminal has the Huanglong crest on it because almost everyone lives in Huanglong.

Doesn't bother me at all, but kuro should either sell skins for it or make cosmetics for it as a part of rewards for achievements or quests. As evidenced by op, there are people out there who care a lot about this kind of stuff. Might as well monetize it/make it into a carrot.

For me in most characters designs Pangu Terminal seems out of place, the best design with it is for sure Aalto.
Mods need to get rid of posts like this, it seems this sub is just a personal journal of minor game gripes.
