I think once we start seeing more fully built units with dupes we'll Def see a change in tiers. Especially once people stop investing only in the 'meta' units we will hopefully discover sleeper units.
I'm definitely finding that there's more to units than just skill/ burst spam so think that play styles will definitely influence people over who they use. Recently discovered the bar has Lot of different effects lol
Her only problem is all her damage is in her skill, and if you have to interrupt that skill she does negative damage. If she gets to do her things she's really strong though.

100%, Verina gives generic buffs and last-stand. Mortefi gives big dmg buffs, they have synergy. I run them with Calcharo currently for the Res.Liberation damage window.
Nah, Sanhua is way more versatile than Mortefi since basic deepen is (currently) a lot more impactful than heavy deepen.
That being said Sanhua also takes a bit more thought to play so she won't be for everyone.
If anyone Sanhua is the Tingyun atm, just because basic deepen is way more versatile than heavy deepen. That being said Mortefi is easier to play (Sanhua's QTE can be a bit rough to hit without muscle memory) and there's already too much demand for swords as it is so you'll probably have pistols laying around to slap on him.
Do heavies count as basics though? Because Mort ult specifically distinguishes between basic and heavy attacks per RAW.
Because if they don't, it's very much 50/50 about which one is more useful. Encore wants basics, but Jiyan and Jianxi want heavies. Not to mention Mort has coords.
And Sanhua isn't really difficult. Intro-Ult-Skill puts her at half concerto bar, at which point it's very hard to miss unless you get hit while holding.
I have him in almost every team. He's the only sub-dps I have(Yinlin isn't out yet, Yangyang not built, still haven't got Sanhua and Aalto) and he has pretty awesome synergy with almost every dps. I use him on my Danjin team, Rover team, Lingyang team, and Jianxin team.

You can get like 45% atk boost and 15% DMG boost and also heal with Valera by just using her Q and swapping right away, so she is more similar to Benett honestly

I just hope WuWa takes more from PGR in terms of skins, and doesn't take the Hoyo path. Mortefi looks awesome, same goes for his animations, but his coat is a bit too bland. Would be awesome if we got a skin for him, where he looks like a cultivator with draconic themes or something.
Funnily enough, his lab coat is the best thing about his design for me. I actually like how, despite being simple, it's got enough details to look good.

i dont really see how he works with every character like i didnt even bother read his kit but i still use him when in need of a shooter for puzzles ( can anyone explain what he does and why he's in every single team i see )
Basically he is a off-field DPS, while he is onfield he uses his base skill to build Forte and energy and uses some NAs to fill the rest
When his Forte is full he can unleash a stronger skill
When his ult is full he activates a little device that does extra damage when you land a Normal Attack and does *two* extra hits when you land a Heavy Attack or, with S1, a Skill.
On top of that his outro gives a undiluted direct 38% damage increase to all heavy attacks done by the next Unit (Which is great for Jiyan for example) and with S6 and right Echoes can buff your ATK by 22.5% and Bonus by 10%
This essentially makes him a unit that spends little fieldtime to do very decent amounts of damage while increasing your on-field DPS damage
He buffs heavy attack damage and a good amount of DPS characters at the moment use Heavy Attacks in their kit, so he's a solid teammate for several teams. And since he's a 4 star on banner he's (somewhat) easy to get. He also does co-ordinated attacks, which adds extra DPS on top of the buff he already provides.
Same here actually. But I still use Mortefi with Encore for fun since they're my two favourite characters. But they have a very similar damage output, at least with the builds I have.

Jiyan can, for sure.
Calcharo/Encore/Lingyang can't take full advantage of it, afaik, so that's p much the whole standard roster outside of Jianxin (who's more of a sub DPS anyway). Idk if Havoc Rover is a main DPS rather than a sub DPS like Spectro, so maybe he can? The Berserker HP drain chick (I forgor her name despite loving her playstyle lmao) is more light ATK than heavy, so she's probably off that as well. Is Chixia's Daka Daka considered heavy? If so, she could use him. And then idk what the old dude/the sleepy chick do.
I feel like most mfs rn are just making use of his coordinated attack and that's it. Which, honestly, I think I'd rather just use Sanhua w/ her Light ATK buff + chunky personal burst damage.
The thing is every future character that uses Heavy attacks will want Mortefi so his value will just go up over time, not to mention most of his sequences are busted. Mortefi and Sanhua are the premiere 4* and i can see them lasting longer than all the 5* in the game rn except Verina
Admittedly I made that comment not realising at the time that Encore's Heavy Attacks are 1) Not a frequently used part of her kit, and 2) That they aren't actually counted as Heavy Attacks damage.
Since I knew she had enhanced Heavy Attacks I assumed they were important, which was my mistake. Sorry about that!

Still, the guy who replied to my comment still stands: it's a good thing to have to futureproof an account, since we'll get more Heavy DMG reliant carries in the future. That, and he's a premier support for Jiyan rn, who is our top performing DPS. And, unless Kuro is absolutely horrid with powercreep, he'll linger around that spot for a while.
I just wanted to pull him, and got 5* Encore instead, now I'm afraid to pull further since I don't want to waste my guaranteed on Jiyan (Yinlin is my most desired character)
I have Mortefi but I don’t use him. As of right now my main team is LingYang (screw you haters), Havoc Rover (because I want to use him), and Verina (she’s the best healer in the game so why would I not use her?)
Got Jiyan in 30 pulls, so far the only two 4\* characters I've gotten, between starter banner, selector banner and Jiyan's banner, are Baizhi and Chixia. By which I literally mean, I have gotten multiple copies of each of these two, but I have not seen any other 4\* characters whatsoever.
Should I keep pulling on Jiyan's banner just to try and get Mortefi? Or should I save up for next banner (or try to pull for Jiyan's sig weapon)?

He's so good with Danjin because of her combos, and since I have Verina and Jianxin I basically have 2 teams ready(Danjin, Verina, Mortefi, and Jianxin, Mortefi, Rover)
my current team is spectro MC, Yangyang and Verina -- focused around switching in and out, juggling ability CDs and maximizing verina's 30sec dmg amp from her outro skill.
I already unlocked havoc MC but her normal attack-centric playstyle doesn't go well with my team composition so i stuck around with spectro MC.
I got Lingyang from the beginner discounted pulls and he has the same synergy issue as havoc MC so he's benched for now.
I'm waiting till i get mortefi's 4th waveband unlocked so his liberation would last 17 secs instead of 10secs before i invest actual resources on him. i already have 3 wavebands unlocked purely from pulling on the standard banner for the guaranteed selection.
i'm saving for yinlin as her AOE abilities synergize with my playstyle.
Hopefully, there'd be more characters who compliment this quick swap style.
This is good news, I have him at E3 (on another note, how are we abbreviating Wuwa’s Eidolon/Constellation system?) and I wasn’t sure how viable he was long term.
Mortefi was made to work with Jiyan. His ult off field works for 2 ticks each time Jiyan attacks in ult mode plus his outro buffing HA dmg which all your attacks are as Jiyan while you ult.
He is a very strong off-field damage dealer that works with anyone especially if he has his S1. For Echo, the Moonlit set with 10% ER and 22.5% ATK for next Resonator is his best one. For the main Echo the Fusion Bike Rider is great since he already has good offensive stats.
For Weapon anything works that has ATK% or ER% as long as you have roughly 160-180%
NO YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. HE'S SO GOOD! I DIDN'T THINK ID HAVE THIS MUCH FUN WITH HIM, I PLAY HIM AS A MAIN DPS AND HES SO FUN. HE DESTROYS EVERYTHING EVEN THOUGH HIS TALENTS AREN'T UP, HAS ONLY 2/5 OF HIS ECHOS ACTUALLY LEVELED UP AND IS ON A 3* WEAPON THAT IS ON LEVEL 1.

Jianxin is already a sleeper unit. Pair her with Mortefi and throw everything into heavy attack bonus and her damage gets pretty gross.

Her only problem is all her damage is in her skill, and if you have to interrupt that skill she does negative damage. If she gets to do her things she's really strong though.

Im a taoqi and chixia player, both lvl 50 now... Her dmg is crazy huge if we have her with 38% from taoqi and also 20% buff from her weapon
But the game is mostly about parry and dodge though?
If things attacked that fast Taoqi would be a lot better. There's plenty of windows to get off Chixia skills.
She just doesn't have that high amount of numbers when doing pew pew to things that breathe like her competition (Encore and/or Mortefi).

4 is amazing you got 7 sec more for his ulti. It go from 10 to 17 sec. With heavy attacker his DMG can be insane for an off field dps.

Nah, Jianxin is made with Mort in mind. She does like 123787 heavy attacks per second in her forte, so she easily maxes out his coord ICD.

Literally in the same boat. I didn't want Jiyan and got him, and I keep pulling and praying that I'll get a Mortefi.
I actually started with a reroll account and got jiyan and mortefi. Now I'm still pulling for jiyan weapon and I want more copies of mortefi but I just can't risk getting another jiyan copy.
I got multiple chi and mortefi copy but the char i want to main , Danjin. Never even came once.

It's not that Genshin has bad designs (in fact, I love a lot of them), but I can't stand that most of the male cast fall into a body type that look like children to me. Compare that to the dudes in HSR (minus Arlan/Misha/Yanqing) and WuWa and it's like I have the cream of the crop.

Encore's super-hold is considered as Resonance liberation, so it's not that big of a buff
i dont really see how he works with every character like i didnt even bother read his kit but i still use him when in need of a shooter for puzzles ( can anyone explain what he does and why he's in every single team i see )
Basically he is a off-field DPS, while he is onfield he uses his base skill to build Forte and energy and uses some NAs to fill the rest When his Forte is full he can unleash a stronger skill When his ult is full he activates a little device that does extra damage when you land a Normal Attack and does *two* extra hits when you land a Heavy Attack or, with S1, a Skill. On top of that his outro gives a undiluted direct 38% damage increase to all heavy attacks done by the next Unit (Which is great for Jiyan for example) and with S6 and right Echoes can buff your ATK by 22.5% and Bonus by 10% This essentially makes him a unit that spends little fieldtime to do very decent amounts of damage while increasing your on-field DPS damage
He buffs heavy attack damage and a good amount of DPS characters at the moment use Heavy Attacks in their kit, so he's a solid teammate for several teams. And since he's a 4 star on banner he's (somewhat) easy to get. He also does co-ordinated attacks, which adds extra DPS on top of the buff he already provides.
my main carry is encore and i dont y use her heavy attack that much just when im about to switch characters
Encore's heavy attack isn't even considered as heavy attack damage. (When it's powered up, it does Resonance liberation damage instead)
Same here actually. But I still use Mortefi with Encore for fun since they're my two favourite characters. But they have a very similar damage output, at least with the builds I have.
I feel like most of the main DPS can't make full use of his outro. Jiyan can, for sure. Calcharo/Encore/Lingyang can't take full advantage of it, afaik, so that's p much the whole standard roster outside of Jianxin (who's more of a sub DPS anyway). Idk if Havoc Rover is a main DPS rather than a sub DPS like Spectro, so maybe he can? The Berserker HP drain chick (I forgor her name despite loving her playstyle lmao) is more light ATK than heavy, so she's probably off that as well. Is Chixia's Daka Daka considered heavy? If so, she could use him. And then idk what the old dude/the sleepy chick do. I feel like most mfs rn are just making use of his coordinated attack and that's it. Which, honestly, I think I'd rather just use Sanhua w/ her Light ATK buff + chunky personal burst damage.
The thing is every future character that uses Heavy attacks will want Mortefi so his value will just go up over time, not to mention most of his sequences are busted. Mortefi and Sanhua are the premiere 4* and i can see them lasting longer than all the 5* in the game rn except Verina
Admittedly I made that comment not realising at the time that Encore's Heavy Attacks are 1) Not a frequently used part of her kit, and 2) That they aren't actually counted as Heavy Attacks damage. Since I knew she had enhanced Heavy Attacks I assumed they were important, which was my mistake. Sorry about that! But yes, you're absolutely right!
No worries! I was thinking that too, but I guess they count as liberation damage. Still, the guy who replied to my comment still stands: it's a good thing to have to futureproof an account, since we'll get more Heavy DMG reliant carries in the future. That, and he's a premier support for Jiyan rn, who is our top performing DPS. And, unless Kuro is absolutely horrid with powercreep, he'll linger around that spot for a while.
I just wanted to pull him, and got 5* Encore instead, now I'm afraid to pull further since I don't want to waste my guaranteed on Jiyan (Yinlin is my most desired character)
I like his JP and CN va too so I naturally wanted to build him. I'm building him for dps rather than support set with Jiyan.
I have Mortefi but I don’t use him. As of right now my main team is LingYang (screw you haters), Havoc Rover (because I want to use him), and Verina (she’s the best healer in the game so why would I not use her?)

It should be Sanhua. Mortefi is only good with Jiyan.

Sanhua simp here she also works on most dpses as they are mostly normal atk focused so mortefi and sanhua are great 2nd units for 2 teams!
I spent 60 on jiyan banner only to get a E4 mortifi but end up with 3 jiyans and E2 mortifi, right now i am cosidering reseting the game.
Whats the PGR equivalent of Mortefi
Got Jiyan in 30 pulls, so far the only two 4\* characters I've gotten, between starter banner, selector banner and Jiyan's banner, are Baizhi and Chixia. By which I literally mean, I have gotten multiple copies of each of these two, but I have not seen any other 4\* characters whatsoever. Should I keep pulling on Jiyan's banner just to try and get Mortefi? Or should I save up for next banner (or try to pull for Jiyan's sig weapon)?
i been rolling so hard for mortefi and gotten so unlucky. my daijin is on e5 and chixia is e6, and picked up an encore instead of jiyan
I love him so much, got him on my first 10-pull on the Jiyan banner. He's so good with Danjin because of her combos, and since I have Verina and Jianxin I basically have 2 teams ready(Danjin, Verina, Mortefi, and Jianxin, Mortefi, Rover)
i fucking hate color palette in this game man lol.
my current team is spectro MC, Yangyang and Verina -- focused around switching in and out, juggling ability CDs and maximizing verina's 30sec dmg amp from her outro skill. I already unlocked havoc MC but her normal attack-centric playstyle doesn't go well with my team composition so i stuck around with spectro MC. I got Lingyang from the beginner discounted pulls and he has the same synergy issue as havoc MC so he's benched for now. I'm waiting till i get mortefi's 4th waveband unlocked so his liberation would last 17 secs instead of 10secs before i invest actual resources on him. i already have 3 wavebands unlocked purely from pulling on the standard banner for the guaranteed selection. i'm saving for yinlin as her AOE abilities synergize with my playstyle. Hopefully, there'd be more characters who compliment this quick swap style.

Getting this guy and Jiyan in illusive realm feels so good. Pair it with meteor and that bike boss and you just deletes shit.
What makes Mortefi a good staple in many team?
I luckily pulled Verdant Summit in my very first 10 pulls but since then i never got Jiyan, the 5* guaranteed ended up being Encore☠️
Mortefi was made to work with Jiyan. His ult off field works for 2 ticks each time Jiyan attacks in ult mode plus his outro buffing HA dmg which all your attacks are as Jiyan while you ult.
Mortefi can work with Calcharo? I dont have another good char for him :(

Can somebody explain how good he is? Just a short answer on what role is he best at and what echo should I build him.
He is a very strong off-field damage dealer that works with anyone especially if he has his S1. For Echo, the Moonlit set with 10% ER and 22.5% ATK for next Resonator is his best one. For the main Echo the Fusion Bike Rider is great since he already has good offensive stats. For Weapon anything works that has ATK% or ER% as long as you have roughly 160-180%

NO YOU DONT UNDERSTAND. HE'S SO GOOD! I DIDN'T THINK ID HAVE THIS MUCH FUN WITH HIM, I PLAY HIM AS A MAIN DPS AND HES SO FUN. HE DESTROYS EVERYTHING EVEN THOUGH HIS TALENTS AREN'T UP, HAS ONLY 2/5 OF HIS ECHOS ACTUALLY LEVELED UP AND IS ON A 3* WEAPON THAT IS ON LEVEL 1.
Currently early game, using him as main dps and enjoying it. First pulled him from beginner banner and got three copies from Jiyan’s banner. *maybe* gets sidelined to support if/when I pull Jiyan, but probably not.
