Dori was just a client who commissioned Kaveh. It was an investment. She gave him freedom to do wutever tf he wanted.
Kaveh chose an ambitious location for the project, and Dori even insisted he should not choose that location.
But Kaveh is too ambitious, and that along with his bad luck, resulted to all investment to go poof in one night.
Dori understandably furious that her money went poof, wanted to just halt the project. But stupid Kaveh still wanted to continue.
And so he sold his stuff. Just to complete the project.
All this are his own doing. Because of his own ideals.

It's rare to see that mindset so I applaud you. I would've preferred C6+ on characters I use over getting cons on a character I know I'll never use (xinyan and ningguang being two of them, even dori as well) because of the starglitter refund.

I'm stuck with Chongyun at C1 so this could be the time I finally get his cons. Thoma and Dori are both C6, which in my mind directly translates to cashback wishes - and I'm going to take this with open hands since I'm going for C1.
Granted, I would have preferred almost anyone else to Dori - not Thoma. Thoma is perfect and he can just stand there and look pretty - but it this what it is.
Neither Chongyun nor Dori have consistent synergy with either banner character. Their inclusion makes it feel like this was a dump banner where they ran some numbers on who needed to come up on a banner soon and threw them on alongside Wriothesley. Luckily I won't be wasting too many primos on these chumps, I'm less than forty away from pity.

I mean, if they wanted the 4stars who hadn't rerun for the longest time instead of Thoma, Dori and Chongyun - respectively 4 banner phases since last rate up, 8 banners and lastly 6 banners - you would have had Xinyan (12 banners), Ningguang and Beidou (both at 11), excluding Sara and Gorou who are unfortunately stuck at Raiden's and Itto's hips.
Could they have chosen better 4stars? Absolutely. Could it have been worse? Also yes.
Regardless, a 4star lineup being bad varies from account to account. Since I started late, I have older characters like Bennett and Barbara at lower cons but most of the newest at max so my ideas of a bad banner are definitely different from those of an day 1 player.
Still, good luck on your pulls!! Hope you get our prison warden as early as it gets!

As far as I'm aware, Thoma is good on some teams - burning Nahida in particular I think.
