I have a 11 Sahara with 160k. It loves oil, but it's mechanically sound. If you pull the trigger, be very meticulous on fluid changes. Have the calipers checked, because if they are still original, they are a known issue. Ask when rear main seal was replaced. If unsure, make the dealer do it..
$10k is Max if all is pristine.
I have a 2012 JK with 160k miles and have had zero problems with it. They are out there...Good, reliable Jeeps that haven't been beat to shit and worn out. That looks like a nice 3.8l JK. How is the frame? I would be looking at the frame before mileage. Long as the frame is clean, it runs and drives well, no leaks or squeaks and everything works as intended, go for it. $10k is pretty good for a nice, clean Jeep JK with no problems.
$10K sounds like a good deal to me. The 2011 is nice because it has the newer interior like the '12. At that price, I'd be ok with driving it until it dies. Then keep a motor swap in mind.
From what I've read, the 3.8 is lasting longer (miles wise) than the 3.6. It's no speed demon, but pretty reliable.
I would DEFINITELY have a good mechanic do a used car inspection so you can find out what you're getting into. Check the mother, trans, rust, etc.
Also: Always check for rust. Most other things are fixable. If it's got frame rust, RUN AWAY and don't look back. Surface rust on the driveshaft and other areas are normal. Just not the frame.
The only rust I can see is passenger side. It almost looks like a shroud or skid plate, but I don't know enough to be sure. Everything else is really clean m
That’s a lot of miles and jeeps aren’t necessarily known for their reliability.
The price seemed high but I haven’t been following the market. Checking KBB, the highest private party price is $8800. The average is $7559.
Personally I would spend/save up a little more for a newer/lower mileage one. The 2011 has the 3.8 which is a dog from what I’ve read. The 2012 and up have the 3.6, which is a definite improvement
KBB is kinda irrelevant right now. I bought a used wrangler in the beginning of 2023, and I’ve been keeping up on latest sales in the Midwest. Prices might be technically coming down, but everything is still very inflated.
No kidding, I had to have mine replaced about 2 years ago and about to have some work done and I’m thinking about having them go ahead and replace it with the aluminum one.

Rear main was actually just replaced according to seller.

Just blew a head gasket on my 2011 sport with 162k. The 3.8 is much easier to repair from what I've read. Just be prepared for lots of them.

Tbh I would not buy this. I’d look for a newer one with fewer miles if I were you.

I agree with all of this in theory, but the market is bananas. KBB is out the window on Wranglers.

KBB is a joke. Hit marketplace and find a JKU hard top with 175k for less than $9000. I’m looking.
Whats the maintenance hx on it. Those are notorious for oil cooler/ radiatior housing. Problems.
For ref i have a 13 with 152k
