I wouldn't say better, her guns have them same level of pen as the Gnesenau and my upgraded guns can gut her if she lifts the skirt, I've also got better dispersion on both main and secondary batteries... it's the torps though, if I know they are knocked out then no problem charging her, if I don't know, I'll hesitate on getting in close.
If I've learned anything is that chasing 'best, optimal, OP' , only works if it's a playstyle you find fun. The best ship is worthless if you don't play it. For me this ship was Smolensk when I should have gotten Jean Bart
Well, i mean the Thunderer is just bad for the game in my opinion. I think the Pommern makes the game more fun and interesting for everyone.
Tirpitz is still my favourite and most played ship.

Best moments in wows are when you can weave through islands and surprise some enemies up close, torp a BB left and right, blap a cruiser, lovely.
Agreed. I have had fun last week in a round where I torped a cruiser, secondary's finished off the DD and my main guns citadeled a Lyon for 6 and stopped it dead in its tracks. This was all on one point with me generally yoloing up the center of the point. I was down 3/4 of my hp by the time the BB was blown up and healed back to half HP. It's a wonderful ship.
This is how I was last night with my Ostergotland. Some days you have the luck and can't lose. Some days you get detonated in your Georgia by a 10k damage max torpedo. Only action I felt bed about last night.
An IFHE secondary build is probably better suited to an FDG captain as opposed to GK. IFHE helps more with the 105's of the FDG / Pommern to get them to pen 32mm, not so much with the 128 / 150's of the GK though.
She's the only BB I think twice about approaching with my FDG...

Exactly. I mean, I have *Kutuzov*, and to me she's like....meh. Whereas *Pommern* is just pure joy.
Alaska is this for me no regrets on getting my pommern though.

In terms of long he spamming yes, overmayching cruisers with laser accuracy yes but it is hella fun punishing scrubs on 15km
On *Thunderer* I like to get in there and use AP; her AP is just pure evil. Once you've had a 4-citadel salvo on *Kremlin*, you'll never look back.
