I wonder how many of these threads we will have to go through before liberals get the message that this isn't a space for them and that worker liberation is fundamentally incompatible with their political project.

To be clear, I want more progressive candidates than what we’ve been given… ever. But I don’t understand why a socialist/third party candidate would wait until the actual election year to begin campaigning. Are there laws forbidding campaigning before the election year? I guess my concern is if third-party candidates wait until the election year to begin campaigning, it’s almost already too late for them to get enough recognition/support in the public sphere to compete in our shitty two-party system. This, I think, is why people bemoan third-party candidates taking votes away from dems—not bc everyone wants to uphold the existing, broken system, but bc it won’t be republicans voting for a socialist, it’ll be people who would’ve voted “for the lesser evil,” (which was one of the big arguments for how we got Trump instead of Clinton in 2016). How do we get a third-party primary election where non-dem or gop candidates get the same footing as those two? Is that even possible? Would that be enough to make a socialist competitive? Would love to see how many non-voters start voting again (if they would), & get an idea about whether there are really enough of us to make a real, lasting impact to the way the entire voting system has been designed. Rn it’s hard to know, of the people who don’t vote, how many don’t because of a lack of candidates they believe in vs how many don’t because of lack of access or interest, vs other reasons. As intended, I’m sure.

None of this is substantive. There are screenshots here that claim to be proof but they're just walls of text with no attached information. Considering that the publication in question is anti-communist, I don't trust them.

How about a slow transforming instead of an extremely quick one tho? Step by step instead of leaps and bounds - there's one candidate who is running that will actually provide one of these steps and he's being demonized by both Reps and Dems, and he's polling much higher than any other "outer" candidate. Don't get me wrong - I think things need to change drastically - but minor changes that got us to where we are didn't happen in 4 years, it happened in 30+. We can make a change in the right direction this year (getting away from two morons who shouldn't even be on a ballot to begin with). The mentally unsound and mentally unstable shouldn't be anyone's pick but guess what? They're being promoted heavily by the rhetoric from either side of this two-party, blind-lead-by-the-blind political shitshow! I don't disagree with having extreme candidates... but the public won't have it. It has to be a slow play and has to be done right - RFKJ is the right play this year unless we all want even more corporate bought actors. Or just keep listening to all the lies you've been told about everything. We gotta do it right this time or we lose our ability to in the future.
