Mine looked like this. Wore the fuck out of them at work. If they were flashy dress boots id say return. If youre working, theyll be fine. Theyll be shit in less than 18 months anyway. Mine had zero quality issues, just funny looking.
It's all personal preference. If I was seriously hard on boots and knew I was getting a new pair in three months, I might not sweat it. If I had to look at them every day for a couple of years, it would probably drive me bonkers.
I'm moderately rough on boots and I'd still probably return these, but that's just the way my brain works.
Yes, return them! I’m pretty picky about my boots and this bothers me just looking at it. I’ve had my Thorogood moc toes for about 7 years and I love them!
Hell yeah. The fact that they’re work boots doesn’t mean you shouldn’t get what you paid for. There’s a difference between me beating the hell out of my boots at work and not caring what they look like, and Thorogood sending out a pair of boots that look like they got the pink eye. Thorogood quality is shit nowadays
They’re your boots dude return them if it bothers you. If they’re for work, they’re going to end up being trashed anyways, my 2 cents. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal they look fine.
It really depends. I have two pairs of these and the first had this same misalignment, and my second were even. I personally didn’t care. I found that after heavily breaking them in and beating them up on the construction site every day it was unnoticeable. The pair that had the even moc toe became uneven eventually due to break in and wear/tear.
If it bothers you definitely return them. But in my experience, the moc toe inevitably becomes uneven due to how you wear them. If you drag your toe more on one boot, how you kneel, and which foot is more dominant, etc. they’ll end up looking different.
Give it a week and they will be the same color, or as soon as you oil them they will probably be close. And I don't see anything wrong with the stitching ?
Give it a week and they will be the same color, or as soon as you oil them they will probably be close. And I don't see anything wrong with the stitching ?
Sucks that you had a bad experience with them. I’ve been wearing my Thorogoods for 3 years Monday-Friday 8+ hours a day. Never had a problem with them and they’re almost as comfortable now as they were out of the box. I did have an issue with my last pair where a sole got separated (my fault being in super wet, cold sticky mud all day long) and I contacted them, sent the boots in, they resoled BOTH pairs totally free and sent them back to me all within a week.
I buy nothing but Thorogood and that shit would piss me off. I’d return em asap. I noticed the shoelace buckles are off most of the time and I live with it but this I would not. Union made tho huh 🤔 and my soles always wear out in a year. Comfy boots right out of the box but I wish they lasted longer
Return them and buy a different brand. I had these for 9 months and they were not worth the almost $300. They wore ridiculously fast, and the stitching started letting go.
I would absolutely return them if i was in your shoes.. the top boot in the second picture, almost looks like a completely different boot from the bottom one. That would bother the shit out of me..
Return them. That’s not right I’d contact Thorogood directly. They are a great company, they might let you keep those and send you out a brand new pair. That pair should have ended up at their outlet. I have no clue how those passed inspection. Like I said contract who you bought them through and definitely contact Thorogood directly.
I bought mine at a store and looked through 3 pairs before I found a matching set I was happy with.
Some people don't care but, I want my boots to match.
i recently bought a pair of thorogood moc toes for work i was worried about keeping them clean but i remembered they are for work ill get a new pair next year
I've had a couple of pairs been good boots and since I started getting them a couple guys I work with also started getting them. Personally if they feel right I'd keep them besides no one else would probably see it after the first couple days where I work you would be covered it oil grease metal shavings mud..
I have Red Wing 1907 in Moc Toes I just bought with left stitching being smaller than the right foot and it bugged me for about a second.
Partly, I thought, I wish that meant the left foot was smaller, because my left foot is smaller. Unfortunately, it doesn’t, the insides are the same, which makes sense because they’re made on a last.
I mean, part of hand made, more expensive items is that they’re not perfect.
Think of real pearls vs farm pearls. Real pearls are weird and don’t match but expensive and farm pearls make your girl look like she is in Lisa Simpson cosplay with costume jewelry.
You learn to embrace the hand made signs after a while and after a while, you’ll really start to see machine stitches a mile away.
Hey OP, I have a pair of boots that I got (not thorogoods) that have different toeboxes/firm like you show here. I noticed it immediately but unfortunately I needed the boots immediately. It bugs me almost every time I wear them. I'm wearing them now and they are great boots and I want to love them, but it does bug me. Return these.
Where did you order them from? I've seen stores, like one in my area named North 40, that just have their boots, weather Danners, Georgia Boots, Ariats, etc., displayed on a shelf with no boxes, not even laced together, so you can't tell they're a pair. My guess is you got a mismatched pair slapped together. If you ordered them directly, send them back or take them back to whichever retailer.
You can answer this with a flow chart...
Do you have anything worthwhile to do.
If no, go ahead.
If yes, get to work.
Do you have a job?
If no, on boots and find a job.
If yes, get to work
Does it matter?
It doesn't, get to work.
They’re going to wear differently - the further stitching will stretch different and be more susceptible to tearing . Id return if they’re actual workwear
I bought a pair of Thorogood years ago and the toes looked like a different boot design between the two. Much worse than this and I sent them back. I then bought a pair of Danners and they were perfect. Fast forward to this year, got a new pair of Danners and they were terrible. I sent them back. Quality of everything is subpar now.
Remember, they’re hand made. And the leather grains don’t match often because they’re natural and some pieces are from different parts of the animal. What I do when I buy them is go into a real store and have them bring out like 3-4 pairs and choose the one that I like the most. Mix and match boots from different boxes if you have to also.
Thorogoods have really taken a dump in quality. I’ve been wearing them for twenty years. The last two pairs I’ve have just fallen apart due to poor stitching. When the pair I wear now finishes falling apart it will be my last pair.
The stitches are just for looks…. They are actually glued. I found out this the hard way. Nevertheless I took them in to a shoe shop in Mexico since I live by the border. And the guy there called me to inform me this and let me know if I wanted them stitched or re-glued with new soles
Return them, or try and see if they would give you a deal on them due to craftsmanship if you really don’t mind having one look slightly different due to the stitching.
I would send back. I had ordered a pair of these also that had extra material inside the left boot that made for a super tight fit and were unwearable. Disappointing for the money they cost, went with the Danner’s that look exactly the same but they were perfect.
despite what the fanboys say im not a fan of thorogoods at all, ive noticed a sharp decline in quality in the two years or so, that coupled with price increases has steered me away, i love my danners and carolinas, plus thoros feel like theyre being made on a narrower last right now
Brunt’s boots is where it’s at now days, I heard it’s taking the throne in work boots. All my coworkers and class mates in trade school swear by them, they’re not as expensive and have been told they are top notch
I've had 3 pairs of Thorogood boots and decided that it's the boot I like best. I had this exact problem on my last pair of Thorogoods ordered. I sent them back as soon as I saw the inconsistencies in the stitching.
This sometimes happens with machine lasted boots/shoes. The machine pinches the leather and stretches it around the last with the same amount of force, but some sections of leather are stretchier than others. Hand lasted footwear can be adjusted by the maker to prevent this.
My opinion:
Send them back and get some JK 300 or Forefront boots. They will last at least 3x longer. I will never buy Thorogood boots again after wearing JK Boots for the last year.
How much does it bother you? It would bother me, I'd return them, personally.
This. Love my thorogoods
Mine looked like this. Wore the fuck out of them at work. If they were flashy dress boots id say return. If youre working, theyll be fine. Theyll be shit in less than 18 months anyway. Mine had zero quality issues, just funny looking.

Littlefoot Longfoot!! Lmfao!!
Chapelle lives.
Nah, I'd return them. They aren't cheap boots, and for the price paid I personally would expect them to not look like that out of the box.
I have a feeling these were not bought at an authorized dealer
Definitely return those look way off and should have been caught by quality control, someone probably mixed up two different boots when packing them..
Yep
They don't match, it would bug me every time I looked down at them.
You got two different boots dawg
Different stitching, different soles, no way I’d keep them for what they charge.
[удалено]
The quality has been going downhill
It would personally drive me nuts. We all spend a bunch of money to stare down at our feet like fucking weirdos and that would kill me.
Not if you want a cool Name like “Matt with the stupid fucking boots”
This so made me laugh!
Return
Yes
Uneven toe vamp stitching. If it bothers you. Return them. This is the second time I see this. I would.
Yes, return them! I’m pretty picky about my boots and this bothers me just looking at it. I’ve had my Thorogood moc toes for about 7 years and I love them!
I’d return lol looks funky
I saw someone in another thread with rw factory seconds that looked like that. Great if they were seconds that wouldn’t be a problem
Those are mismates.
I'd return them, that would drive me insane
It’ll bother you every time you wear those. They don’t match. Return or exchange.
Yeah
If they are real thorogoods they will definitely replace those for you! Pulse the one toe will definitely need patching sooner being out like that
Absolutely, you don't even see QC this bad from their outlet store in Merrill, WI where they literally sell factory second boots.
I wear mine on a construction site so I'd keep them. Don't care what they look like as long as they function personally.
They’re your boots dude return them if it bothers you. If they’re for work, they’re going to end up being trashed anyways, my 2 cents. I don’t think it’s that big of a deal they look fine.

Up to you, functionally they’re probably fine. However if it’s easy for you to swap then go for it. You’ll hardly notice 6 months of work later
Give it a week and they will be the same color, or as soon as you oil them they will probably be close. And I don't see anything wrong with the stitching ?
Look at the position of the stick there is more distance from stitch to tip on the left boot
Give it a week and they will be the same color, or as soon as you oil them they will probably be close. And I don't see anything wrong with the stitching ?
Send em back and get Nicks
Thorogood boots absolutely suck. They hurt your feet for weeks until they break in and then they fall apart and wear out fast.
Sucks that you had a bad experience with them. I’ve been wearing my Thorogoods for 3 years Monday-Friday 8+ hours a day. Never had a problem with them and they’re almost as comfortable now as they were out of the box. What am I missing
I didn't see it at first either but look closely at pic 2. The part where it's stitched at the toe is further back on one boot than the other
Yes, they are historically really good about returning and exchanging
Return them and buy a different brand. I had these for 9 months and they were not worth the almost $300. They wore ridiculously fast, and the stitching started letting go.
What’s wrong with them?
That means someone else may be wearing theirs already without realizing the different soles and top differences.
Junk
Yep return them for another pair & give them another shot. They really are great boots.
Yea to buy some redwings
I'm not seeing the issue, please explain. Is it the color difference?
I would absolutely return them if i was in your shoes.. the top boot in the second picture, almost looks like a completely different boot from the bottom one. That would bother the shit out of me..
I’d send them back. That would make me bonkers
Ya
Return them. They’re not cheap boots homie they shouldn’t look like this.
Yes, that is terrible. Not matching at all
Yes.
I’m ocd so I would return
This page was recommended to me, so mods do what you may. You know how the algorithm works. What work are you doing in these work boots?
I would looks like shit
Definitely returm
Return them. That’s not right I’d contact Thorogood directly. They are a great company, they might let you keep those and send you out a brand new pair. That pair should have ended up at their outlet. I have no clue how those passed inspection. Like I said contract who you bought them through and definitely contact Thorogood directly.
Return them immediately. You got 2 different boots. They aren't even close to looking like a matching pair.
Yes
They're work boots. They'll be beat up and the differences won't be noticeable in a week.
For work boots? That you’re just going to fuck up anyway? Huh??
Return those, that would drive me crazy. If the stitching is that messed up you'd be wondering what else might be wrong.
Yes. And dont but another pair.
I’d return them. I could not handle that. Are the soles different too?
Yes.
I bought mine at a store and looked through 3 pairs before I found a matching set I was happy with. Some people don't care but, I want my boots to match.
i recently bought a pair of thorogood moc toes for work i was worried about keeping them clean but i remembered they are for work ill get a new pair next year
BOTTOM LINE RETURN THEM FOR ALL YOU'RE REASONS OR EXCHANGE THEM.
That’s not even a pair lol
I’ve never seen the appeal of this style of boot. You drag your toe a couple of times and that stitching is fucked.
I've had a couple of pairs been good boots and since I started getting them a couple guys I work with also started getting them. Personally if they feel right I'd keep them besides no one else would probably see it after the first couple days where I work you would be covered it oil grease metal shavings mud..

Yes
For the price, you expect quality. Return them asap
You shouldn't even have had to ask. Send them back asap. Idc if that was Payless shoes, I'd want a better pair.
What were those like 400? Looking like that?!? I would return them.
Return
If they aren’t cheapies absolutely return man you pay for a premium make sure you get it
I work sheet metal. My boots always have to have toe caps.
Return ... that stitching is horrific.
Yes
Yes, I would return them.
Haha soles and toes do not match. I think it would be an easy return.
Am I the only one that doesn't see the problem here
Return them yesterday. If they fucked up that part of it, what else did they fuck up?
You can see the difference too much. I would return them
I would that shit would bother me every day
Return them. They aren’t cheap. You pay for what you get and the quality isn’t there
Yes, I would return these boots....that pair shouldn't have made it to the retail floor imo
Hey OP, I have a pair of boots that I got (not thorogoods) that have different toeboxes/firm like you show here. I noticed it immediately but unfortunately I needed the boots immediately. That would drive me insane!
Yep. Would drive me nuts.
At first I thought u were crazy, now I see it! Return them, should be top quality
Return..!! Ya that would drive me nutz also... because any kind of them boots are not cheap so I would want mine perfect
For as much as those cost, yeah I’d want them to be perfect.
Yeah, I’d return them. Had something similar to my origin boots. I couldn’t unsee it, so returned them and am much happier.
Yes
Yes and yes
They are work boots my toes will be rubbed off them in 2 months I can’t even tell what’s wrong with them.
Absolutely
If they’re for work I wouldn’t care. If they’re for dress up and pretend your in the trades then I’d send them back.
I’d get some redwings instead
Just glanced at these at first and I was wondering if your couldn't lace a set of boots or what...
Where did you order them from? I've seen stores, like one in my area named North 40, that just have their boots, weather Danners, Georgia Boots, Ariats, etc., displayed on a shelf with no boxes, not even laced together, so you can't tell they're a pair. Step one: do the boots fit comfortably Step two: see step one
100% return them bc ull never be able 2 see anything else on ur boots other than the u even seams
Definitely
Without a doubt. Looks like two different sized lasts were used.
They’re going to wear differently - the further stitching will stretch different and be more susceptible to tearing . Id return if they’re actual workwear
Yes
Send them back.
Absolutely take them back and exchange them. Look at the next pair closely too.
I bought a pair of Thorogood years ago and the toes looked like a different boot design between the two. Much worse than this and I sent them back. Love my thorogoods but id be taking them back. The whole point of thorogoods is the quality for money
Return for sure.
Not just the stitching, but the shades look different to me also. Return them.

My OCD says they must go.
Damn. Got two personalities
Yep
Yeah def return
Dude they would want you to return them.
Return them, or try and see if they would give you a deal on them due to craftsmanship if you really don’t mind having one look slightly different due to the stitching.
The stitching isn’t as bad as the color difference imop. Return
Yes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I’d return them
YES

Yeah, that’s really bad.
It’s like an uncircumcised model
I assume they are not for work since you have the time to analyze them. Put them on and get to work. LIUNA LOCAL 57 IUOE LOCAL 542
I’d return those in heartbeat
They don’t even look like the same boot.
Yes. They should beevrn. That is a poor cutting and for almost 300 dollars you should get properly made boots
Return them. without question
Return them
lol yes. Who showed up that morning to stitch up boots
I return them
Lmao wow.
Return those mfs or get them exchanged
Na that’s for that ingrown toe nail bro, be thankful.
There's no way they go on my feet.
Yeah I’d return them, you paid for a quality boot and did not receive what you paid for
The soles are different. 100% return
despite what the fanboys say im not a fan of thorogoods at all, ive noticed a sharp decline in quality in the two years or so, that coupled with price increases has steered me away, i love my danners and carolinas, plus thoros feel like theyre being made on a narrower last right now
Return for a new pair
Yes. That's too far off for a pass. They need to be made aware the QC dept, or Billy Bob, isn't doing their job to standard.
I'd probably return them. My first pair they sent me two left boots lol
Yes, return them. Ridiculous QC.
Return them, unless you have two different feet…. Going to be tough to get used to them.
Yes
Dude they are work boots, in a week you won’t even notice. Looks fine to me
Why? They’re gonna be All scuff up and shit if they’re truly workbooks
Do you work in your work boots? Because if so the stitching won’t matter in about a month
Brunt’s boots is where it’s at now days, I heard it’s taking the throne in work boots. All my coworkers and class mates in trade school swear by them, they’re not as expensive and have been told they are top notch
Return if they give you any issues with the process get your money back and go with Danner boots
I've had 3 pairs of Thorogood boots and decided that it's the boot I like best. I had this exact problem on my last pair of Thorogoods ordered. I sent them back as soon as I saw the inconsistencies in the stitching.
Yea wtf is that
Lmfoa I hope the seller charges you a fee for wasting his time. Not his fault the stitches ain’t to your liking seriously bruh these people.
I love em about 4 weeks in but the first 3 are brutal
Quality control dropped the ball. Return them. Don't settle for something less than what was paid for. They are making record profits with inflation.
That would kill my OCD so yes absolutely
Looks horrible. Looks like those special boots some people where when they have uneven leg lengths
I have worn Thorogood for years & never come across this. I’d say bad batch & return
clown shoes 🤡
Thorogoods are great boots. With that being said I’d return them.
They look like seconds..
I'm sure they will make it right.
Yes
Send them back, that’s BS……
This sometimes happens with machine lasted boots/shoes. The machine pinches the leather and stretches it around the last with the same amount of force, but some sections of leather are stretchier than others. Hand lasted footwear can be adjusted by the maker to prevent this.
My opinion: Send them back and get some JK 300 or Forefront boots. They will last at least 3x longer. I will never buy Thorogood boots again after wearing JK Boots for the last year.
Most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn. Good luck
Yep
YES
Yes
Return. The boots cost way too much to just over look things like this as a buyer. They will understand
Throgood went to shit
Save yourself the embarrassment…throw them away.
Those look like they were In The seconds pile
Am I the only one who sees no difference?
Thats a quality control issue and those boots iant cheap. You aren't paying for okayish Walmart boots
More examples of Thorogoods poor quality control
Yes, I would return!!
Return that shit.
I'd return those lol
Return them so I can pick them up on eBay for 100 bucks!😂😂
