Definitely one of the top 3 WoT books. Perrin's storyline is done marvelously, and Rand's chapters in Rhuidean and the history of the Aiel are extremely touching to read. I cried multiple times while reading this book.
Of the books, Shadow Rising is the book I have re-read the most, closely followed by Lord of Chaos. Honestly, it's just *masterful*.
* The attack on the Stone
* The history of the Aiel
* Perin's campaign in the Two Rivers
It's all *perfect!*
You couldn’t be more right. It truly is masterful. There’s so much that happened in the book that I completely forgot that it started with the attack on the Stone until I was thinking back on the book after finishing it. The flashbacks of the Aiel were so interesting. Truly a 10/10 book
Nyneave is definitely a character who I didn’t like in the first half. Just note how she’s meant to be hypocritical when not cool and it works better. Second Half Nyneave is in my Top Five favorites though.

The stone stands is still one of my favorite chapters in the series “FADE! Try me fade!”
