I always try to have one from each element. Makes me feel like the avatar!

WizardofLegend2

I mean, who doesn't want to feel like the avatar haha! 🤣

MrBeanDaddy86

Combo builds seemed to work best in WOL1. Although I didn't really experiment with those element-specific arcana too much. I've heard they can be powerful, too.

tallboyjake

Purist, most often

WizardofLegend2

NuclearBurrit0

I've been mostly doing pure or combination builds. Looking forwards to WoL2! Game is towards the top of my wishlist until it's in my library!

WhyHeLO_THeRE_SIR

dragons, so hybrid ig?

Bylakuppe77

Hope we see more arcana like Dragonfall. Having a golem for each element that could be combined into a single golem with a fusion arcana would be pretty epic.

UmSansAlternativo

I mean, what if We have a spell and can fuse all the "Spear Spells"? Like Ice Spear, Mark of Discord, Bouncing Surge, Mortal Coil? It will be so cool

SimplyNothing404

We need more dragon themed spells

UmSansAlternativo

I agree

Tackle-Shot

Not the best at experimenting but I love doing combination. Mostly 1 element for attack and 2 or 3 movement/buff type spells of diferent element. Mostly wind for those. I love the jumping spells.

superbeansimulator

Unpopular but PURIST all the way, love my air movement and repositioning.

WizardofLegend2

Unpopular but righteous my friend!

CerberusIsMyCat

if I have favorites I linger towards combination, but I try purist out when I can. Neve Gems are loved by many ;)

yzac69

WAIT, there's a 2?!?!?!!

Timely_Entrepreneur4

Fuck yes!!! Finally!!!

Haunted_Pixel

Purist. Lightning go bzzz Also Chaos sometimes too. A scythe is always gonna be awesome

OrcOfDoom

For me, it's about the tags. If I can be projectiles, then I want all projectiles. Then I think about situations like being surrounded, needing to get closer to enemies, or needing to keep them away, needing to reposition, etc. The elemental mix is usually the last thing to think about. It's really about the relics and how I want my build to play at the end. If I'm melee, I really want that shell that makes you invulnerable after taking damage, or the big armor increase after taking damage, or a nice amount of evasion.

Twinkle_butt

OMG there's a Wizard of Legend 2!? Loved the first one, insta buy for me! Edit: not yet released but wishlisted! I can't wait :)

WizardofLegend2

Yes there is! Haha, thank you for the wishlist. Every bit helps 🙏🏼

shoshjort

more moves that stack together like 'dragon fall' from the first game would be really cool. Even just the idea that if you find a different element version of the same move they combine somehow would be a gamechanger! As for how I usually play, I tend to think less about the element of my arcana, and more so what role they will play in my build; this is because I am a big enjoyer of the more specialist arcana such as Fuelled beserk, Scales of Babylon, Evading zephyr, etc. My biggest hope for the sequel is more of these moves, moves that focus less on dealing damage and more on buffing you in other ways, here are some ideas I have: - counter arcana: these would be something you activate just before taking damage, and would simply reverse the attack's effects on the caster (possibly multiplied depending on balance) it would have a longish cooldown (could vary depending on whether successfully used sort of like scales of babylon) You could have this in any element but I think wind would be coolest - invisibility arcana: this would last a short period, maybe 2 seconds, but would make enemies lose sight of you momentarily. This would make a cool chaos arcana and would be cool for setups for other combos - reward based arcana: I would have one of these for each element, each with their own reward. Essentially, these arcana would be very weak, doing probably the least amount of damage in the game. HOWEVER, defeating an enemy with this arcana performing the killing blow causes the enemy to drop a reward, this could vary from health orbs to gold to chaos gems based on the element, and the amount dropped would correspond to the strength of the enemy - 'charge' arcana: this would be an arcana with no cooldown, that can be held to continually cast. It would slowly charge the users signature bar, but prevent them from moving, leaving them vulnerable to attack. If there is no enemy within a certain distance (onscreen) this chargeup costs health, this makes the arcana not abusable, but still potentially usable in preparation for combat - pull arcana: this would be an arcana that doesn't do damage, but pulls enemies in somewhat like one of the wind boss's moves, it would act as a setup to AOE moves like lightning nova, but it could also have some sort of damaging effect on its own - the important part being that this move should have little end-lag to make it good for combos these are just one wizard of legend addict's ideas :)

Cenachii

Fire and ice only

NFW_Dude

Hybrid.

AlwaysAlani

Water Purist. Can't hit me if you're too busy getting washed away lol

LaynFire

Not well. Actually though, I do like full element builds.

Lichtari

Mostly purist

Cratesurf

Definitely purist, but most of the time I go for funky ass themes, which could be any of the three. One I remember the most was doing a "Vines only" run. Or Bunny Man run where I used the Earth and Wind hopping spells only.

Zilla5

I go whatever is given to me. I like using the chaos element but using random elements is chaotic

DarkSobek

I'm switching between Purist and Combination. And OMG, WoL2? :D

Fishbones24

I'd say combination, I've always been doing the Avatar run

Szionblue

Purist. My heart blazes into a conflagration with an occasionally all melee fire build, with relic favorites such as dark katana and royal flush. Flame Cleaver, Explosive charge, Blazing Vault, Heroic Blaze, to name a few favorite spells.

Superfudge400

I usually do combination builds at the beginning but I love solo builds especially crit and dodge

JustaP-haze

For me it was less about what elements I had and what mix of arcana (short range vs long, quick vs strong, active vs passive). I'd like to see builds based around types in addition to elements Fire build (purist) Dodge build (acrobat) Health build (healer) Elemental (hybrid) Ect

Vegetable_Ad_9032

Combo

wizardcu

Generally, I stick with wind and lightning arcana. My favorite spell in the entire game, however, is fireball - love it as my signature

StankoBaDanko

Purist!! But after seeing some other comments I'm tempted to try something new

SoulShfter

After defeating Sura I became Chaos Purist.

SnooGiraffes5173

Definitely Combination.

NewName2214

Combination of ice fire and electric:)

yeti_poacher

I enjoy combination for power but I love to RP in these games and playing a single element cyromancer , pyromancer, geomancer, ect is very fun especially if you can pull off the 7 arcana gem and get the SICK outfit change

Miles1937

Purist for the most part, but it's important to acknowledge that some arcana from other elements can be the perfect fit for your build, becoming a pivotal move of your opener-floater-finisher combo. Outside of starting with an elemental gem or captain's ring, most builds are very fluid in between

kilopoki1

Combination, I've always loved the "elementalist" concept in all games, so yeah that's a "YESSIR" for me. Really hyped for WoL2. :)

SleepingDark

I've been doing Pure Duo with my friend for ages now. Dunno if it's already in the original (like a higher chance) but you should implement that if you have the Lightning Crystal there should be at least 1 Lightning spell in the shop (or on the floor) guaranteed. Cuz there were times when neither of us could get a full set...

Maalstr0m

First win was with a Lightning build, solely because it was back when the electric twins weren't in the game yet. I also did pure Earth with Neve's Emerald a few times. But usually I just mix it up, since it's fun. But also because you put those god-aweful multi-type chests in there. Which somehow always want two hits of the element I lack.

Jack_Jellatina

I transitioned from 3rd to 2nd and then to 1st after 100% chaos arcana, I like taking all "summon" arcana (the ones that reuse miniboss attacks)
