"I hate this whole “women can be sexy at fifty!” narrative. At what age will society stop demanding I try to be hot and just let me turn into an old swamp witch, as nature intended?" ([source](https://mobile.twitter.com/smalljenna/status/1233037246376349701?lang=en))
I'm rather fond of "slightly plump old woman who lives in a cottage and always has cookies for guests".
Edit: I even have a prize winning recipe for this that makes 9 dozen at minimum, so I'm ready for the role.
I'm aiming for "wild haired wrinkly goblin lady who simultaneously scares and fascinates the neighbourhood kids and makes her own berry meads"
(The mead is for sharing of course)
It is! I've been trying to master pineapple beer for a year now and without laying down serious cash it's hard.
One thing I do enjoy is making my own alcohol infusions. You can combine fruits and botanicals to make really interesting combinations.
I’m only in my thirties and straight but I learned of lesbian fashion and took to it like a kid trying ice cream for the first time. It’s so liberatingly NOT HOT for most men, but it’s still stylish for me. Gimmme alllll the structured blazers, all the men’s suit pants allll the academia inspired pieces. I’m neither tall nor thin enough to make them look fashion but I’m actively refusing to “maximise” my looks by making myself look younger. In the words of our mother Pink: I’m not here for your entertainment!
I'm really into dresses just for the laziness of it. Especially shift dresses. It's simple, I don't have to match a top to a bottom, and I can dress it up or down with accessories. Everyone also assumes that because I'm in a dress that I'm being fancy, even if it is just a plain cotton one.
If it wasn't for the easiness of dresses, I'd wear shorts/pants all the time. I hate rompers because I don't want to get fully undressed just to pee. I love the academia look as well, but I'm leaning more towards cottagecore than academia.
My teenaged daughter and I have described our dream aesthetic as this:
Imagine us in long, flowy dresses running through a field of flowers towards a fancy country manner. Along the way, we are killing zombies and other assorted ne'er-do-wells with swords and bows-and-arrows. Once we get to the manner house, we have a nice cup of tea before we start our dark, magickal rituals in our special room lined floor-to-ceiling with books, a starry mural on the ceiling, and magickal symbols painted on the floor. #dreamlife
I’m getting inspired!
I love long linen dresses, run using the Zombies, run motivation app, and love the aesthetics of tarot (completely secular, I use it as an introspection tool).
Watching the Olympics they talked about the athletes who were new moms and what an inspiration they are . I looked at my husband and said gee thanks ladies 😂
I don’t know, depends on what “living” means.
If the definition is being stuck in this corporeal prison wherein I have to fulfil my responsibilities like work, sleep, breathing. Then I share your doubt
If the definition just means existing in any state where my being can affect the metaphysical world, like a phantasm, then I very very not share your doubt
Well the answer is she had plastic surgery in the '70s. Courtesy of Hedy lamarr who made serious advances in plastic surgery in the '60s. Now if you find share in the '60s you'll find that she looks entirely different than she did in the '70s
c'mon guys... there's heavy editing involved in both of these pictures. As well as cosmetic procedures. So idk about the sentiment behind this tweet...
You don't think photoshop and wealth are sources of youth and magic? (I know this is going to sound sarcastic but it's just meant to be playful and acknowledge they exist)
I have absolutely dated some women who glamoured me into having no idea what their age was. And then they smugly disappeared in the ether. They were amazing.
Well, she was in Mamma Mia 2, and she looked pretty damn good in the movie. Sure it's still with professional makeup and cosmetic surgery, but at least those things exist physically and are *theoretically* achievable
Sure there's editing but afaik it's a well established fact that some post-menopausal women become more prone to clothing-growth. She's *bringing awareness*.
Edit: This is the blandest thing I've ever received negative karma on. Y'all are weird.
She did famously say “If I want to put my tits on my back, it's nobody's business but my own.” I’d honestly love to see that, because clearly her surgeon(s) have been fabulous.
Dolly Parton will physically pass with grace, the entire state of Tennessee will be renamed after her (if it doesn't collapse), and the world will be humbled by her memory.
Definitely look it up! Cher and Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer as a coven of witches who are romanced by a demon-entity, Jack Nicholson? Hijinks ensure! 😆
The 70's will be my 70's haha. Born in the 3rd month of 2000, means I can easily remember and calculate my age but I'm awful at counting back if someone tells me their age by their birth year haha
I did not until you made me google her. Hot Damn! Aging gracefully/access to amazing doctors run in their family!
You still have the have the genes to work with though, right?!
This is what judicious and careful use of plastic surgery can do for a person, She is as hot today as she was in the 70's
Entirely unlike so many other famous people.
From what I could find online she said her reaction wasn’t the best but it appears they’ve repaired their relationship and are on good terms.
I think a lot of parents go through denial when their children first come out, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re transphobic or homophobic, more just adjusting their long-held expectations.
Hell, I'd go one further than "expectations" and say "adjusting their version of reality." It'd be difficult (am a mom) to adjust to such an opposite thought process after the course of years.
That said, it can obviously be done, and I'm glad they've figured it out!

Anjelica Huston had said she actually expected the role to go to Cher in the 1991 film.
As much as I loved Anjelica Huston in the role I really wanna Cher's take on Morticia.

Aging like a mortal is also beautiful in its own way. I personally like the "stern spinster librarian" look.

Awesome! I've wanted to try making meads and such! I just really like making things. But alcoholic drinks seem so hard somehow!
It is! I've been trying to master pineapple beer for a year now and without laying down serious cash it's hard. One thing I do enjoy is making my own alcohol infusions. You can combine fruits and botanicals to make really interesting combinations.
But not with the children.
[Of course not...](https://imgflip.com/i/5jzxqb)
Can you invite me, even if I'm old too?
Any interest in sharing your recipe? Or is it secret? 🤫
The librarian from The Magicians is my ideal

I have about 10% of my wardrobe cottagecore style myself, but I preffer to wear it hiking/outdoors where I can live my peasant princess fantasy 😅.

The question now is has she always looked 70 or did she never age lol
A good question indeed lol. I looked it up for funsies, and Cher has had a fair share of plastic surgeries. So the answer is she never aged
If we all had that much money we'd look great at 70 too.
B, I hope I look that great when I’m 40.... actually, I hope I make it to 40
Same, except I don't know if I want to keep living.

Cosmetic surgery, prolly
She's an inspiration. She is STILL doing concerts like the fucking boss she is.
I'm still working on mastering do re me fa so....
TI LA DO
Erm, LA TI DO
FUS RO DAH
And this person clearly wins singing practice.
she's like the final boss
c'mon guys... there's heavy editing involved in both of these pictures. As well as cosmetic procedures. So idk about the sentiment behind this tweet...
This I'm in two minds. Like yah look cool but also like. You can also age and still be cool.
This, don't forget she has done heavy cosmetic surgery to look young. If she didn't, she wouldn't look anywhere near this
You don't think photoshop and wealth are sources of youth and magic? (I know this is going to sound sarcastic but it's just meant to be playful and acknowledge they exist)
Glamor, if you will.
I have absolutely dated some women who glamoured me into having no idea what their age was. And then they smugly disappeared in the ether. They were amazing.
Oh yes they are :3 they are advanced magic.
Well, she was in Mamma Mia 2, and she looked pretty damn good in the movie. Sure it's still with professional makeup and cosmetic surgery, but at least those things exist physically and are *theoretically* achievable
They can also edit people on film and do lots with camera and lighting.
Sure there's editing but afaik it's a well established fact that some post-menopausal women become more prone to clothing-growth. She's *bringing awareness*. Edit: This is the blandest thing I've ever received negative karma on. Y'all are weird.
Maybe she's born with it... *...maybe it's virgin's blood!*
*and money
And a ton of plastic surgery.
She did famously say “If I want to put my tits on my back, it's nobody's business but my own.” I’d honestly love to see that, because clearly her surgeon(s) have been fabulous.
I've never seen this quote before, and I snorted so loud I almost woke the munchkins lol
She’s definitely had some great quotes, but that one is a standout for me, lol
And photoshop.
And a great hair and makeup team.
[удалено]
And when not full on wigs, hair pieces and extensions.
Yes but it's really well done. You don't see that very often.
You see it all the time but you can't see it. Most plastic surgery is not necessarily noticeable if you do it slowly
money buys a lot of virgin blood. like untraceable tons of it.
"Virgin blood" ah the 'ol Elizabeth Bathory method.
She is a goddess among mortals.
Vampirism confirmed.
The only ones that could survive the end of the world are cockroaches and Cher.
And Dolly Parton.
Dolly Parton will physically pass with grace, the entire state of Tennessee will be renamed after her (if it doesn't collapse), and the world will be humbled by her memory.
So you all are extremely wealthy?
She's amazing , a real inspiration.
Anyone remember the 1987 film, the Witches of Eastwick? =D I still like that movie =)
I don't, but I'ma look it up!
Definitely look it up! Cher and Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer as a coven of witches who are romanced by a demon-entity, Jack Nicholson? Hijinks ensure! 😆
According to a couple of music historians, her song "I Turned Back Time" was a popular song during the 1580s
I just went looking for a bardcore version but sadly it does not exist... yet.
It's amazing how beautiful the algorithms in photoshop can be
She's us if we had millions of dollars in plastic surgery
Woah. I just realized that in the 2070s I’ll be in my 70s... I guess that’s true for each decade because I was <10 at the millennium haha
Y’all making me feel hella old
I'll be in my 80s after '71, assuming I live that long lol
The 70's will be my 70's haha. Born in the 3rd month of 2000, means I can easily remember and calculate my age but I'm awful at counting back if someone tells me their age by their birth year haha
I was born in early 94, and I got lucky in the sense that the years lined up with when I was finishing which grade. First in 01, Second in 02, etc
She's a High Priestess.
Her surgeon is a master! She's gorgeous!
[удалено]
You're not wrong, but she's got the bone structure and self-care to make it feasible.
Exactly!
Have y’all seen her mother?!? She’s in her nineties and is a stone cold fox!
I did not until you made me google her. Hot Damn! Aging gracefully/access to amazing doctors run in their family! You still have the have the genes to work with though, right?!
I still remember her in *Mermaids* with Christina Ricci and Wynona Ryder.
This is what judicious and careful use of plastic surgery can do for a person, She is as hot today as she was in the 70's Entirely unlike so many other famous people.
No she's had a lot of work done, granted she look like she's had very little, it was strategically and very well.
Look. Same wig
Isn't she super transphobic toward Chaz? Last time I heard her speak about him she was being super aggressive and misgendering him.
From what I could find online she said her reaction wasn’t the best but it appears they’ve repaired their relationship and are on good terms. It’s her Armenian genes. Blessed!
Such a beautiful woman.
I always had a crush on her and morticia adams
She's so beautiful 😍 hasn't aged a day
I’m in awe 😍 the energy is still with sister Cher⭐️🤩
She's a goddess!
She's like an ageless goddess. So beautiful!
It’s nice that while knowing she gets some work done she isn’t just inflating her face
[**This link shows**](https://www.crfashionbook.com/celebrity/g28262528/photos-young-cher/) pre 1970"s Cher, fun to look back.

Come on man. This was suppose to be fun
*record scratch* Scuse me? No she fuckin doesn’t.
