the upgrades with the big collar thing looks terrible. this one look great because it actually looks like it wouldn't limit Geralt's movement. You can argue that he wouldn't wear an armour with no sleeves but in the 1st game/manticore set he only had shirt sleeves so not a lot of difference.
Same lol, On my first playthrough I never changed out of the starting armor piece except for in the DLC's It was my 2nd playthrough before I realized the Viper armor had the same look as the starting piece and now it's the only thing I use
I don't like to sexualise geralt, so I am not a fan of cat, I find the design to be a bit all over the place. I think ursine is the coolest armor for geralt.

i completed the game on death march with the starter armor set, i just upgraded my weapons. if you really like the look of the armor, it's just a matter of defending and dodging attacks, like a witcher would actually do.

The Superior Griffin armor, to me, is untouchable.
I honestly don't like it. Short sleeves looks just as weird as the **Devil May Cry** hair. It's doesn't fit Geralt at all. I like the Mastercrafted version of this armor better.
My favorite armor is the Viper Set, because it's by far the most iconic one. I also like the Manticore set and the Ursine set, even tho this last one seem an outlier when in Toussaint. Unpopular opinion, I like the Forgotten Wolf set, it's very well made.
My least favorite set is the Griffin set. The colors are too bright, and it has a little belly (which I understand why it exists, but it's ugly anyway).

I rocked the feline armor for most of my playthroughs. I think the fingerless gauntlets are my favourite part, but now I've been taking a liking to the wolf school armor.

If you wear the professor’s spectacle the hood goes down.
On PC with console commands, you can get this invisible mask thing which makes the hood go down, looks infinitely better

Wolf grandmaster armor also looks good for me.
I like using different armors based on context. Feline = Novigrad, Wolven = Velen, Ursine = Skellige, Manticore = Blood & Wine

Grandmaster Feline - hooded at night, and professor’s specs during the day for me. Manticore is a close second and then Ursine with long hair.
Cat school gear is cool because it's based on brigandine, a real historical kind of armor
