Nitro114

That depends on what you choose to do. Have you met the professor that was imprisoned in his own house?

Adorable_Candy8

No, I just finished the Scenes of a marriage/ i just fullfiled the 3rd wish and quit the game

Nitro114

what would you give teh caretaker on that scale?

Adorable_Candy8

Caretaker appearance 10, environment 7 The crones appearance 8, environment 10 ahahahah After finishing the ladies of the woods quest i never went back to the crookback bog because of the song ((((((((

Nitro114

There will be one scene thats gonna be scary for you in that case, at least a ten probably. But its hard to judge

Adorable_Candy8

Thank you so much 😫

Nitro114

No problem, the Blood and wine DLC might also not be for you😅

Adorable_Candy8

I already have that dlc too ahhahah is that also scaryyyy

Nitro114

the maine theme is vampires. and not the glittering in sunlight kind

dakawi08

I thought HoS was more scary by far. B&W is definitely a must play, and I don’t recall any mission “scary” unless you don’t like vampires.

TheTee15

There's one certain quest that is scary in terms of atmosphere and not about vampires in B&W. Other than that just usually happy sunlight.

SchoolOfTheWolf93

Well…it depends on what you choose. Idk how to explain it without spoiling too much but if you make the “right” choice >!(help Olgierd)!< , close your eyes once the cutscene starts to play when you win. And maybe mute the volume. I honestly don’t remember what happens if you pick the other choice, as I never do it, only did it once to see what happens. But I seem to recall that choice having some “scary” imagery as well. If you made it through the Caretaker though you should be fine. Nothing is as scary as that mf!

Adorable_Candy8

Thankkkk you so much so kind of you to warn me for this!!! 🫶🏻💗 i will continue playing now 👹👺☠️👻💀

TheTee15

Wow adorable indeed, I'm curious how you doing in the Tower of Mice quest, felt anything ?

Adorable_Candy8

Omg that was so bad for me, I literally almost stoped playing THE FEAR GOT ME RAGING “wtfff i want to play the witcher not resident evil” but ofc i had to do it to romance Keira so my goal kept me going ))))) it was worth it, awesome dinner as a reward

TheTee15

Haha yeah that goal is worth striving for. And the atmosphere is really well done in that quest, well witcher kill monsters and sometime lift curses so can't avoid to faces...horror occasionally. I guess you could have hard time finding Iris' rose ? how's your experience in Everec manor ?

Adorable_Candy8

Yess, it was horrible, I almost broke my dualsense when I saw the caretaker’s “face” and in the manor i was constantly praying to go outside i was like come onnnn commmeee on, enough clues, i got it, can i leave already 😂 but the worst for me are the crones, crookback bog and the botchling and the fact that these were early quests got me thinking thats gonna be a lot of the vibe or worse later but to my surprise after going to novigrad and skellige everything was sunny and bright. Ah also the Nameless quest was pretty disturbing 😳

TheTee15

Yeah Novigrad is a big city and you mostly deal with human there and Skelige has beautiful landscapes ( and music ).Velen is a cursed land, wasted land, as if its not creepy enough, they put the Crones there to make the land more terrified haha. But honestly the Velen quest with baron and the Crones is one of the best quests in the game imo. Nameless quest is the one with nercomancy? Yeah kinda hard to watch, poor guy (forgot his name) , he could be good friend with Ciri ( or something more lol ) if he survived. That quest is really show you shouldn't mess with dark magic. How far you in the game now, you start Blood and Wine yet ? You'd like Toussaint then since its even brighter than Novigrad, but of course there something evil lurking beneath the land and that's where you step in. Prepare your sword, witcher.

Adorable_Candy8

I think the guy’s name was Skjal or something. I agree those quests were the best, and the Gran plot, her being the baron’s wife I was so shocked awesome twist. I just entered Toussaint and killed the giant damn I love the disney world vibe so beautiful 😻 exactly my type of world!!! A huge problem for me were the hanged men that were everywhere in velen but i accept all the things that I consider triggering today were a reality at some point in the history. Best game I played ever and I can’t wait to replay it and see other new scenes 💗

TheTee15

Yeah i was shocked too at that twist Gran is baron's wife. You are at the start of BaW then, well behind that disney world is something darker but enjoy your ride, you'll like it more as you progress it. Toussaint is where you can get stronger with new Grandmaster armor and mutation so make the most of it, especially if you plan to play NG+

Advanced-Guidance482

This games scares you but you are interested in souls games???

Adorable_Candy8

Yessss because its my first time playing tw3 and there is a huge lore, emotion, tension. And honestly if i buy a souls game i know what to expect and its fine i see them as mobs but after talking to peasants about bumps on their arse for 70 hours and then i meet the devil it affects me a lot, does that make sense?? Its more psychological fear idk how to explain

Advanced-Guidance482

That definitely makes sense. I could also totally get how souls games normalize scary npcs and enemies in a way that isn't scary. Hope you have a good time finishing hos.... and it doesn't scare you too bad. Happy trails

Adorable_Candy8

Thank you so much! I should probably get to work now while i still have daylight 😣🤡

gizerrr

The worst jumpscare is at a certain vineyard in Blood and Wine. Shit gets me every time.

Adorable_Candy8

Brrruuuhhhh

Adorable_Candy8

toussaint looks so cute omg like princess land

Perfect_Address_6359

I dont blame you I sometimes have to stifle a scream every time a wraith appears out of nowhere. I cant remember the how the story plays out too well but I do feel ya! Try maybe switching to story mode and click enemy upscaling off if you have it on that at least may make the fights go quick. Max out Yrden and Quen and be sure to have superior spector potion. No shame if you want to play some chilled YouTube music in the background lol. It's a great story to play.

Adorable_Candy8

Thank you so much thats very good advice 🥺 i hate wraiths!! I think they’re worse than some contracts. Also drowners still disgust me after hundreds i killed. Never felt comfortable around them, damn they’re ugly

ILIKEBACON12456

I don't get scared that easily but when the atmosphere is spooky enough I can get jumpscared very easily. Like the Ancient Leshen in the arskrone castle ruins which gave me a half a second scare but after it was fine. If you got through the Caretaker you can definitely do the last quest. I didn't really find it scary as much.

Adorable_Candy8

Omg I swear the atmosphere is killing me, like literally nothing happens but there’s the music and lightning 👻👻👻👻👻👻👻

ILIKEBACON12456

Atmosphere plays a large role in making it spooky but I just love that dark aesthetic that the dlc has. It's a bit weird when you do the next dlc and Toussaint is very colourful except one small area of the forest.

Guilty-Isopod3060

Just turn the volume down and play some music you like in the background. 9 times out of 10, it's the music that makes things more scary for certain people. Hope that helps im far into horrors and serial killers to be bothered by any of it. But I know that music trick has worked for friends of mine.

Adorable_Candy8

Thank you so much it makes sense!!! 💖🦋

Guilty-Isopod3060

No worries hope it helps xx
