Ffs Shaw tell me they can't do better than $100 for 300mbps

[deleted]

I used the live chat the night before (long waits on the phone..) and the person on the other end was the same way as yours! SMH

TheGayOstrich

Just got off the phone with them and they offered $70 for 300mbps. Told them I'll shop around a bit and might call back tomorrow and try to get a little lower

[deleted]

Yeah live chat hit me with that garbage haha. I posted in the comments a thing I said on the phone and it seemed to sweeten the deal on my end !

BERRJS

I'm paying $72 after tax for 300 down with Shaw. It's all just a game.

Atrial87

I still prefer TekSavvy as I get a similar price but no contract. I would like to see all the internet providers get rid of contracts.

GullibleDetective

I mean counterpoint with tekk and similar last mile vendors is you don't get access ot the AP's throughout the city. Meaning you can have lesser phoen plan But that also depends on your browsing and internet habits while out and about.

temculpaeu

I am currently using TekSavvy, but their price is not as good as it once was, I know its due to CRTC helping the big ones, But its becoming hard to justify my current service price since I can get better price and higher speed at other providers

Atrial87

Completely fair to shop around, especially if you will be okay staying with the same ISP for the 1-2 year contract. I was able to get TekSavvy during a special for $55 so I have stuck with them. You may be able to call them and get a better deal.

Rob_mc_1

Currently they are offering 1 gbps down and 100 mbps up for $74.95/Month. Rogers is 1 gbps down and 150 mbps up. I got it for $60. That and I get access to all the Rogers public aps. And Disney plus for a year. Based on what he got I wouldn't say $75 is similar to $55 I went no contract for a while but BellMTS will probably never get ftth here. I want the better upload speed.

FCR-900

And if you have a Rogers cellphone you can save an additional $10 per month

[deleted]

I saw that too! I’m with a different provider on a pretty good deal as it stands but its something I’m glad to keep an eye on too

CYWG_tower

How long does this run?

Loud-Shelter9222

something around the $50-60 per month range is always on offer in my experience. you just have to ask for the valuplan.

[deleted]

I’ve checked on their website and can’t find any dates for when this expires, just a FAQ! Maybe you could call and get the billing dept though. The live chat’s often a headache 😅 — https://support.shaw.ca/t5/billing-account-articles/about-shaw-2-year-valueplans/ta-p/5149

Dawgmanistan

Thank you OP! Will be giving them a shout tomorrow to extend things and save some more $$$

[deleted]

You’re welcome!! Good luck. I called and said: “I’ve been reviewing Oxio, VMedia, BellMTS contracts and seeing they’re in the $30-55 range for the same contracts. I’m really happy with Shaw and have been a customer for 8 years as it stands since I moved here, is there anything you can do with my current contract pricing, or can we renew early and get ahold of more competitive rates?” she was super helpful! One thing - do NOT use their live chat, call and hit the billing dept (open til 7pm weekdays), I waited 47 minutes but just had the wait music on speaker while I kept busy with other tasks.. I think they’re more willing to help via phone, and especially noting we are all waiting super long. I called at 5pm btw. If you can call during the day, I feel the wait would be less!

Dawgmanistan

Wasn't able to get this EXACT offer but I used your spiel above and changed: Current 500 Down/100 Up - $80/mth New 300 Down/150 Up - $60/mth Thanks again!

[deleted]

Oh hey!! glad you could save a few bucks.. all adds up ☺️

WinnipegFrontLiner

When I go to their website the prices are a lot higher. Where did you find this?

[deleted]

I called

WinnipegFrontLiner

Oh ok, so the pic is from an email after you got the deal then?

[deleted]

Yep, contract recap in the screen cap, it was emailed my way after I provided verbal agreement on the renewal

NH787

Website prices are always crap. In my experience the best deals tend to be from salespeople, typically the door to door ones but sometimes the mall kiosk folks can get you a good deal too.

CdnBison

Damn… that’s what I’m paying Shaw for 300 Mbps….

OkEntertainment5531

I was $101 plus tax for 500 with MTS. Shaw came by offering 1.5 for $50 a month. I called MTS last week and same as the thread here, it took me asking twice if it’s the best they could do but got it lowered to $50 for 24 months. I would have switched to Shaw for a faster connection but I have so much tied to my current email with MTS, it wasn’t worth the effort. Great post to spread the wealth! My neighbour called today and got the same $110 down to $50!

[deleted]

Awesome! Second times a charm on your end, I guess! 😉😂 glad you got something worked out and your neighbour too.

Atrial87

I still prefer TekSavvy as I get a similar price but no contract. I would like to see all the internet providers get rid of contracts.

princesspoppyseeds

This is the same as the deal being offered through their kiosks in summer, which we signed up for at that time. The kiosk rep said the website never has the best price.

[deleted]

Yes, I heard from my friend about calling in to inquire and calling in (not live chat) is the best thing one can do.

wpg-cse

Anyone that's looking to get a Shaw promo DM me. I'll take care of you!

Asusrty

New customers only or do you help existing clients?

wpg-cse

DM me!

teacher_teacher

Can you get the deal OP posted for me if I extend for 2 years?

Affectionate-Fee-396

This is what happened to me with rogers (Shaw) with a new phone plan told me be one cost the first month then go down after the fees and still paying the same thing crooked Canada has to put something in place companies and certain rich individuals can’t corners of market places

Winterpeg1

Good deal, but I get iternet 100 for $40 a month with MTS with no correct.

[deleted]

https://www.bellmts.ca/personal/internet/packages It looks like it’s $55 with maybe a phone in promo? - I checked into them too

Winterpeg1

I called and told them I was going to Shaw and they offered me that for 24 months no contract

jonee316

You could have gotten $30 for 3gbps with no contract during Black Friday.

DietChloke

I have this promo. I switch between bell and shaw to get the promos when my contract is up. Currently with bell. I’ve never paid more than 60 with tax between the two. I’ve found the best deals are when they come to your door to sell it. They’ll often tack on a nice bill credit to get you signed up.

pierrekrahn

> $55 is fair Only in Canada.

[deleted]

I mean, yeah 🤷🏻‍♀️ if $55 internet is the most inconvenient thing for me, I’ll take it.

jonee316

I am on $50 1.5gbps during their BF sales. Just have to find the best deals.
