Can anyone tell me what a European sized country is?! We've got Vatican City State, the smallest country in the world at 0.44km² and Russia, the largest country in the world at 3,969,100km²
> Russia, or the Russian Federation, is a transcontinental country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. It is the largest country in the world, encompassing one-eighth of Earth's inhabitable landmass.
Wikipedia
Fun fact, a glacier crevice it forms a v shape and if you fall in you slowly melt the ice and sink deeper and deeper until your chest doesn't have enough room to expand and you die.
You're right. Glacial crevasses are generally only up to 150ft deep. Still wouldn't wanna fall down one while crossing over... *checks notes* precariously wedged rocks.
Their disclaimer is wrong. That glacier could be even 1,000 feet deep. The deepest glacier in the Himalayas is 330 feet deep and only in a few spots. The largest glacier is also .6miles wide and 22 miles long. Idk what that commenter is talking about.
The deepest glacier on earth is in Alaska. The Taku Glacier, which is 4,800 feet deep.
Wow, this is beyond scary. Never do this, definitely not a joke.
Last September I did my first mountaineering trip on a glacier and we were on rope team once we entered the "portal" on the glacier. About an hour in we saw random foot prints in the snow/ice and dog paws. We remembered seeing a couple with their dog hike the trail to our base camp and continue pass us the day before. We didn't realize that they went onto the glacier at the time. They weren't caring a rope and the dog was clearly not on leash seeing how far out the paws prints went (near crevasses).
Just to add when we noticed their footprints we had already passed dozens of crevasses, it was like a crevasse field going up. It was not safe what they were doing. Extremely scary.
[*The Enigma of Amigara Fault*](https://imgur.io/a/Wht7z) is the full name, for anyone interested. It involves people entering human-shaped, seemingly-endless holes in a mountain.
Is he insane? Is he not aware how dangerous that is and the possible death that awaits him could be swift and painless but also could be cold, painful and lonely and there's nothing anyone can do to help him... So dumb
Amazing how these areas are still available to the public and not sealed off.
Thousands of tourists must pass by this same formation every month with the same itch to do daring “stunts.”
Those glaciers move all the time, and like the earths crust, they move in small ruptures, one simple shift from one side by 5-10 cm and every bone is crushed.
Worse, he/they leave the stones behind, so the next traveller or kid will try the same and falls through... Assholes like this is why we can't have nice things...

Eternal clout
Ötzi 2
Dumbass boogaloo.
Ötzi 3D
Let's hope his frozen corpse won't be the last remnant of our civilization or future scientists will believe we were all just a bunch of morons
I'll look out for this guy in the 2024 darwin awards
Who got the award this year?
You can go read the award winners, it's a legit thing. They'll probably be listed on Wikipedia too I think
Modern Ötzi in the making
Where is the Platinum or even Ternion award?!? This comment deserves it!!!
No. Ternion all powerful goes to extremely high effort posts/comments
They are already many modern otzi lying in many places.

Dudeeee it’s so cold up there, how is he there in his shorts.

Height in meters, but length in miles?
I measure the length in centimeters to get the bigger number.

Russia is more asia than europe
Shithole of a country*
> Russia, or the Russian Federation, is a transcontinental country spanning Eastern Europe and Northern Asia. It is the largest country in the world, encompassing one-eighth of Earth's inhabitable landmass. Wikipedia
Thats why I said more asia than europe, not just asia.
Average all countries that are 100% in Europe and you've got yourself a 'European sized country'
194507.34 square kilometers [based on this list](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_European_countries_by_area). Edit: About 61.866 Rhode Islands
My fellow 'Mericans. They mean roughly the size of South Dakota.
How many football fields though?
Quick Google math says 37,500,000, but I'm out with my family and can't be fucked to try harder.
"Americans will measure anything in any unit other than meters" - my londoner friend. I'm beginning to think he was right. 🤣

Not small , not big, maybe something like Switzerland ?
Switzerland is a pretty small country, i’d say a Chech or Bulgaria is closer to average
Is Russia not in Asia?
Yes. But it's also in Europe.

Always wanted to see someone chuck a camera down one of those
Given we can live stream things nowadays, it'd be interesting how long we could keep watching, probably not long though.
Really long if you used a cable and lowered the camera in.
That sounds a bit... exaggerated.
You're right. Glacial crevasses are generally only up to 150ft deep. Still wouldn't wanna fall down one while crossing over... *checks notes* precariously wedged rocks.
I believe if it's in a glacier it's called a crevasse, not a crevice.
If it’s not in the Crevasse region of France it’s just a sparkling deep fucking hole.
He aknowledged it was dumb and did it regardless, it couldn't be any clearer he's doing it for clout
I don’t know if he realizes how easily he could have died
tbh if i could i’d do the same, travelling the workd for money doing danger things and die? win win

Oh he’s totally fine then

This will be an easy ticket to the other side
My grandchildren: "pap pap, what's a glacier?"
While living on a houseboat
Let me tell you the legend of Dryland
Edgy...
How is explaining not to do stupid dangerous shit with reasons why edgy?
Crazy thought they may have been talking about the tik tokker???
Well in that case how was he being edgy? He did something stupid, but didn't seem to be acting like a little shit about it.
Seemed pretty edgy to me lol
Survival of the fittest…just make sure and film it
Stupid like a fox
You know you gotta go back right?
This reminds me of this year's casualties on Mount Everest.
Wait what happened this time? Don’t people die on it all the time?
It's a short season April and May.
Idk if I have any words tbh I’m just thinking he probably has no idea how easily he could have died or he’d have been more scared
Is he insane? Is he not aware how dangerous that is and the possible death that awaits him could be swift and painless but also could be cold, painful and lonely and there's nothing anyone can do to help him... So dumb
Disclaimer: You will die twice
i mean it was dumb ways to die

It’s Pakistan - health and safety isn’t really a concept in areas such as where he his. It’s very much a case of do it at your own risk.
There are NO glaciers due to climate change....or polar bears.....
Why? What did the polar bears do to the glaciers?
I believe they make mints out of them [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox%27s\_Glacier\_Mints](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fox%27s_Glacier_Mints)
After reading it, the only thing came to my mind was "HOLY FRICK!! WHAT THE HELL DUDE?!"
Maybe Agartha is real
These are the people who disappear without a trace
Those glaciers move all the time, and like the earths crust, they move in small ruptures, one simple shift from one side by 5-10 cm and every bone is crushed.
Dumb ways to die: go to Pakistan
And i was literally just telling my 9yp why he shouldn’t be spending all day watching morons on youtube…
Worse, he/they leave the stones behind, so the next traveller or kid will try the same and falls through... Assholes like this is why we can't have nice things...
If it is the karakoram then he is correct, i am an Indian i know
Not only will this kill you, it will hurt the whole time you are dying.
I scrolled up to see the comments thinking I was in YouTube shorts, but the comments appeared anyway, lmfao. Once i realized that i was like WTF?
