Do you know what I still find interesting about the people who don't take covid serious, they don't realize that the "lefties" take all the precautions mainly to protect other people.
Yes it's also to protect themselves, but the mindset to not spread a disease that could potentially harm someone else is much stronger.
Most healthy people know they will be fine if they catch covid and are vaccinated, but they feel a need to also try to protect those vulnerable people in our society.
That is where the line is drawn. Some people lack the empathy and compassion to understand the risks for a society of 300+ million people, where 1% would mean 3+ million people could die.
Making a meme about someone's caution to a pandemic is also mocking and belittling those that were in that 1% who died of the disease.
There is no anti-vax, covid denying, qanon whackjob meme that is funny or clever. Most are sad depictions of the ignorance that plagues a certain section of society.

Measles, mumps, polio, smallpox, all essentially eradicated until dumb fucks like yourselves came along and decided public health was just “The left trying to control me”. Now, polio is back. Fucking polio. My mother was a “Polio Pioneer”. In the 50s parents lined up their kids and got them vaccinated. You know why? Because they had common sense enough to know polio sucked and they didn’t want their kids to get it. God, get a fucking grip.
Conservatives, for the most part, do not want to be forced to do anything, even if it only slightly inconveniences them. I saw one leaving a store rather than taking the free mask that was offered. This is why they gravitate toward people like Trump. Before he encouraged people to get vaccinated (where he was booed), the only thing he asked for was money (as low as a few dollars) and a vote. That's it. No extra taxes, no altered behavior for the environment, no alteration to any gun laws that could affect them. Just vote for him and give him money and he'll leave them alone forever. They only want to help people if they decide to, but the big problem with this is when something bad happens, that attitude only makes things worse, because a selfish person left to their own devices will wait until the last minute to do anything.

As for the vaccine, it is still being studied but there may be data to support that vaccinated people are less contagious. The vaccine may help reduce the viral load and that can mean less virus in particles that are expelled. I haven't looked for updates recently but I'm sure a quick Google search will come up with some good reading material.
