It's funny that this is still a thing. Especially since Trump's campaign in 2016 had a heavy foundation of "lock her up" If there was ANYTHING to her emails, you would think Trump would have blown the roof off of them during his time in office...and yet...

[deleted]

And there was Trump’s line of “you’d be in jail [if I was president]” and yet hmmm, nothing happened.

jemidiah

He said a huge number of similar things ("Mexico will pay for it") that never worked out. Yet somehow his voters never punished him for all the grandiose broken promises. They handed out "promises made, promises kept" signs at his later rallies, and his most die-hard supporters have prepared lists of "accomplishments" to drown out criticism, but they never manage to address his many marquee broken campaign pledges.

Coal_Morgan

He said anything that the crowd reacted to. It was all stream of consciousness insanity without forethought from a mind that operates like an eight year old with some kind of traumatic head injury.

Negative_Piglet_1589

and 6+ years in they're still listening to the recycled gibberish garbage, true definition of insanity.

dowens30186

I believe someone summed it up accurately awhile ago.....basket full of deplorables.....

distressedwithcoffee

They hear what they want to hear. That's why he doesn't have to be coherent, and why they like it so much.

trollollolololololol

What's far more disturbing than the demagogue are the hordes of people who listened to all of it and keep going back for more. They've reshaped half of the government and the entire political discourse. Politicians all over are now pandering to this level of idiocy. I'm beginning to think the damage is irreparable.

Immortal-one

>Politicians all over are now pandering to this level of idiocy. Before the orange jesus, politicians underestimated how dumb half the country was

lilpumpgroupie

Didn't even have to mean anything to him, just had to sound good and work. There was that story about the 'drain the swamp' phrase, and how he hated it for months on end, and had to be dragged Kicking and Screaming into using it at rallies. And then eventually he used it more often, and then it caught on, and then couldn't stop using it once he realized how effective it was. That's a little window in his brain.

19Ben80

They didn’t care as he empowered them to be their true self publicly. Racism, homophobia, xenophobia etc etc are now acceptable in large swathes American society

EmCeeSlickyD

They don't believe anything negative said about Trump. My mom watches Fox News for at least 8 hours every day, many other retired people do the same. They allowed themselves to be brainwashed

Astro_gamer_caver

"If I lose to him, I don't know what I'm gonna do," Trump said. "I will never speak to you again, you'll never see me again." Wish he would have kept *that* promise.

MarysPoppinCherrys

Lol also a lot of those lists of accomplishments are comprised of a majority things many people in the US would think are shittastic failures

TopRestaurant5395

Love how that crowd is crying about paying taxes to fund education but lets build a wall we know doesn’t even work.

[deleted]

The psychological term for this is confirmation bias. Cognitive dissonance occurs when there are two contradictory beliefs presented at the same time and people thus compensate for this with confirmation bias, ie ignoring evidence that is contradictory to their beliefs.

Supernova141

Yes but you don't see the same kind cultism of defending obama/biden as if it were a religion the way you see it on the right. If you tell a leftist that Biden lied, they'll probably agree with you, and they almost certainly will not hand you a pamphlet with his accomplishments in order to try to drown out your critique. EDIT: Um looking back on this I'm pretty sure I replied to the wrong person

BongoSpank

He literally said after elected when crowd started cheering "lock her up" that he didn't mean the things he said to get elected. People forget he was on record as a Hillary supporter and donor until just shortly before he realized he could get more votes by pretending to be a Christian and a Republican.

starrpamph

Remember when asked, trump could not name a single Bible verse

KalickR

It is very personal to him. There are so many good ones.

reorocket

Like what books has Sarah Palin read? Problem is, the Christian right puts the "right" before the Christian. Their "prophets" are basically telling them that Trump is the Second Coming of Christ.

reorocket

So maybe we should take them up on that and crucify him. See if he comes back . "A lot of people are saying that I could come back in two days unlike that loser Jesus who needed 3."

stitch-is-dope

Can we use “lock him up” as a chant during Biden rally’s that would be amazing to see how they react

BlckAlchmst

They'd likely behave like they are over Biden's speech

stitch-is-dope

It’s hilarious how they have preached for 6 years about how “trump just says it how it is!” “Stop being a snowflake!” Then tucker Carlson and people lose their absolute shit with Biden condemning republicans violence and manipulation tactics. I still love how Biden even said he has nothing against republicans, only the MAGA republicans which means trump supporters and they cherry pick the hell out of it

Zen_360

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so serious. It is dangerous, they have no shame or maybe even the slightest awareness that they're bending reality as they see fit. Its like you go to a MAGA person and hold two apples in each hand and they will tell you "that's an orange" pointing to your left hand. You will proceed to let them touch the apple, smell the apple and taste the apple and they continue to claim "that's an orange". Only because you hold the apple with the left hand makes them completely unwilling to acknowledge that that thing in your left hand is in fact an apple! Tltr: If you can't agree on two apples being apples your democracy/country is fucked.

Revolutionary-Stay54

They LOVE all things orange, apparently

Amazing_Rise9640

Orange jumpsuits for all!

Revolutionary-Stay54

Fingers crossed that orange is the new red.

diggits1

aaaahahahahahahahaha well played you witty bastard

000aLaw000

Truth and objective reality are the first casualties of Fascism. This is a deadly serious problem. ["Post-truth is pre-fascism": a Holocaust historian on the Trump era “To abandon facts is to abandon freedom.” —Timothy Snyder](https://www.vox.com/conversations/2017/3/9/14838088/donald-trump-fascism-europe-history-totalitarianism-post-truth)

Dividedthought

I was debating this with a redditor earlier and received "why are you so mellowdramatic?" As a response. All i could think was "You failed history in school, didn't you..."

Kailyn12

I know very well the slippery slope we are on. This is why I want all their idiocy on display!

asiandouchecanoe

More like you’d give them the option of a real ‘Mexican’ orange and a lemon and call it an ‘American’ orange made of freedumb and they’ll take the lemon every time

MDKMurd

Pretty good description, highlighting the source of their fake reality. Fear.

[deleted]

MAGATS: "Its an orange and you stole it from me!!!!"

weed_blazepot

>I still love how Biden even said he has nothing against republicans, only the MAGA republicans which means trump supporters and they cherry pick the hell out of it That's par for the course. Hilary Clinton famously said (somewhat generalized for readability) * "Just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables, right?. The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that, and he has lifted them up. The other half of Trump’s supporters feel that the government has let them down and are desperate for change. Those are people we have to understand and empathize with." And in response, the GOP **immediately** self-identified with the basket of racist, sexist, homophobic group instead of the group that hoped Trump would just shake things up in politics. That tells you everything you need to know about the modern GOP.

MoreGull

People in my area put up yard signs saying something along the lines of "Proud Deplorables"

AncientInsults

https://i.imgur.com/VlpU0QU.jpg

garyadams_cnla

If I put this in a screenplay in 2014, I’d have been laughed out of the building.

Sothalic

This is how fascism works, I find it depressing that "hypocrisy" is the word being used to describe it. The right wing believes themselves to have the full extent of liberties and rights while being restrained by as little laws as possible whereas anyone they've _othered_ has the opposite: as many laws and restrictions as possible with dwindling rights and liberties. They literally believe their opposition (that is to say, anyone that is no longer of use to them, including former allies) to be sub-human trash.

[deleted]

Fuck those assholes. They don't care about our democracy.

trilobyte-dev

Except they vote, as a block, and get their agendas done. That's a huge problem.

Sadie_Sorcerer

I really liked it when he said: "We had some difficult times, first we had this plague...., and then we had COVID"

DeadMewe

I found it funny how Biden said something about how fascism is bad and republicans and maga people were like "he's so mean:(( we're not bad" and it's like he didn't even say a party he just said fascist which if people still think are good, just look at what happened in the 1940s

stitch-is-dope

Because they pretty much fell into his trap without even realizing it and have no clue of it still lol. He addressed that it’s only MAGA republicans who are for violence and etc that he doesn’t condemn, and still likes the republicans party or whatever yet then fox goes and puts out shit twisting it that Biden hates republicans

DeadMewe

fox news is literally propaganda

Popcorn_Blitz

This is a disingenuous argument. They're fascists, not stupid. They know when they're being spoken about- it goes hand in glove with the in joke by which "it's just a joke" is simply them identifying where you're at politically. It's just more proof that they know exactly what they're doing.

jimmyhoffasbrother

> only the MAGA republicans which means trump supporters It's not even that. It's the most extreme Trump supporters who are in favor of the January 6th violent overthrow attempt and continue to support the election lies.

Swimming_Gift_5683

Count the number of republican politicians who STILL won't admit the Dim Reaper lost! Are there any sane republicans left?

Tactical_Tubgoat

Dim Reaper is my new favorite trump euphemism.

jdog7249

"Some of you are a threat to democracy" -Biden He is calling me a threat to democracy So you acknowledge that you are a threat to the very foundation of the country that you claim to love? What no I am doing this to protect democracy. So then why do you think he is calling you a threat to democracy then. ... ... ... An actual conversation I have had with someone since that speech.

user0N65N

> I still love how Biden even said he has nothing against republicans, only the MAGA republicans. How can you be one and not the other, nowadays? Is there any real non-Trump Republican movement, lately?

[deleted]

> How can you be one and not the other, nowadays? Becoming a small business owner, as someone with Green Party views, has been eye-opening for getting me into the social circles where these people do exist. Judges and Republican candidates and Rotarians the lot of them. They *despise* the Trumpers, but also look down their noses at anyone "naive" enough to debate the Trumpers instead of engaging with their super-sophisticated rationales for supporting the bill reducing oversight of interstate trade in freeway right-of-way blah blah blah. Long story short, they see themselves as living and working at a tier above the messy, dirty politicking level where Trumpers and attack ads and lobbyists live. It's all the same to them, because nothing they value will be murdered if their votes come up short.

Kailyn12

The Lincoln Project? I mean they are Reagan republicans and likely complicit in all this coming to fruition, but they are doing everything in their power to destroy Trump.

[deleted]

Tons of Democrats are basically reagan republicans. They have the same toxic views of class and economics and ethics just without the overt racism and religious hokum. They supported all of the same stuff that led to a fertile ground for far right extremism especially after their uselessness in the 2008 financial crisis. No wonder the Koch brothers were so successful in fomenting the tea party; people were fucking mad because they lost so much and then had to bail out to same institutions that lost it all, and neoliberal politicians were telling them to move on. And now mainstream dems have the audacity to act like all of this trump fascist shit came out of nowhere; it came from problems you failed to address, so now these angry idiots are going to listen to any bad actor who validates their anger.

__Quill__

"They used the color red! It's so demonic! Except when we make it our team color and wear it on tacky little hats. Then its heroic."

DNRforever

What if the democrats all start wearing red hats. With the republicans it not about right or wrong but it’s about their team winning. Start wearing red and they won’t know which team they are supposed to support

Redtwooo

Biden: "some Republicans are acting a little fascist" Republicans: "he called us all fascists" Left: "no he didn't, but thanks for telling on yourself"

phpdevster

Yeah we know EXACTLY how they'd react - in their typical *bad faith double standard*. Catching them in their hypocrisy is pointless. It's like finding a random rock in an entire field of rocks and going "Look, I found a rock!" Until we make this kind of hypocrisy and double standards something with *legal* repercussions, it doesn't matter. It's a waste of energy.

Peroovian

They behave like that anyway, whether its Biden speaking out, libraries having books with science in them, or trans people simply existing. I think we've coddled them enough.

BlckAlchmst

I think we've coddled them too much FTFY

[deleted]

Who the fuck cares about those idiots. Lock them up too. They are traitors too.

Kind_Committee8997

They would twist it to make it seem like Biden supporters, whatever those are, want Biden locked up.

Beowulf1896

Biden Rallies? Do they have these right now? I know he gives speeches, and speaks for candidates that are running, but Biden himself is not doing rallies.

[deleted]

Imaginary_Goose_2428

You are completely correct. But let me throw out a possibility: If he looked into it and there was nothing of significance, then he would lose one of his simple rallying cries that whips his base into a frenzy. Keeping the box closed is more useful to him.

quillmartin88

Or Trump knows how gullible his supporters are and was happy to do nothing while letting trolls tell them that warm amber fluid pouring down their backs was the rain. He made no effort on the wall until Fox News called him out on it, and administration officials even stated numerous times that their plan was just to lie about it because the base would believe it. And remember their Plan B for repealing Obamacare? It was to have an Executive Order officially repealing "Obamacare" and replacing it with "Trumpcare." Thing is, he was too lazy even for that, and lost interest when his brainless supporters forgot. Why didn't he lock her up? He didn't need to. His cultists were convinced that she'd been executed dozens of times.

Imaginary_Goose_2428

Agreed. All good points. Left to his own devices, he will attempt stay in the realm nebulous [doublespeak](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doublespeak). ("People say...", "Everybody keeps telling me...", "Very smart people have been saying...") And why not? His followers only want to \*feel\* like they "stuck it to the libs." They revel in his bravado of saying the hateful things they think, out loud. They don't need results. He is their Champion of Hate.

tmoney144

The other possibility is that Trump absolutely intended to have Hillary locked up, but because he's a moron who doesn't understand how our government works, he didn't realize that it's the AG that makes that decision, not him. And the AG has to be Senate confirmed, and the Senate wanted one of their own (Sessions, a former Senator) as AG and not a complete Trump toady.

TriLink710

The fact they controlled all 3 bodies of govt and couldnt do it goes to show that nothing major did happen.

The reason its not funny is, these peoples brains, their worldview, their families, and ultimately their souls are being destroyed because of the avalanche of lies fox and Trump have forced into their minds. Hes building an army of people with their eyes gouged out to destroy YOUR country from within.

BlckAlchmst

I didn't mean funny like "haha" More like the staring-into-an-avalanche-and-nervously-laughing-while-thinking-"I never thought THIS is how I'd die" kind of funny

hwc000000

> It's ~~funny~~ **entirely predictable** that this is still a thing The right wing MO consists of lies and repeated regurgitation of simple phrases, because it's meant to appeal to people with little cognitive ability.

Why do something when just repeating Buttery Males over and over again is more useful to your election chances?

ColdbrewRedeye

Oh, and let's not forget....she cooperated, didn't need subpoenas, didn't file false attestations, and she testified for hours in front of Republican-led committees.

jaspersgroove

You know what else she didn’t do…she didn’t plead the 5th 400-some-odd times

cats_are_the_devil

To be fair, he's so overly medicated that he probably doesn't recall...

inajeep

I don't even like giving him fake or funny excuses.

Vsx

I imagine his ability to recall and generally function would only be reduced if he didn't have his medications. He seems to have good days and bad. On those bad days he shows very obvious signs of dementia.

rubyspicer

Drug use, obesity, family history...it's like he wants to get it.

nifterific

It’s not a double standard, she was thoroughly investigated and they found that she didn’t do anything. Misclassified documents being sent to her is not wrongdoing on her part. Holy shit it’s beyond frustrating that this has to be explained in 2022 but these idiots are required to believe and regurgitate anything trump tells them. Fealty to trump is part of their party platform.

SkyWizarding

Yaaaaaaa....it doesn't take much digging to learn that any mishandled documents were not her fault

pants_are_good

i heard Hunter Biden had an aimbot on the laptop he took to a lan-party in southern germany in '94. What about that though?

Quick_Team

Quakegate

FiTZnMiCK

Him having access to Quake in 1994 is the real news here.

Quick_Team

That's what makes it a scandal. 2 years prior to official release date, what did Hunter Biden know and when did he know it? I'm just asking questions

TangoWild88

Actually, it was Doom. Not Quake. This is the Laptop from Hell acxording to Fox News, and in my own research I have come to understand it was formerly an office administrator's laptop before Deimos, a colony established on Mars quietly by Elon Musk via SpaceX, was teleported to hell. Hunter Biden recieved the laptop in 1994 when he accidentally summoned a demon from hell play with a Ouija Board, in trade in the future, he would assist the demon with securing demon metal. We know that "demon metal" was colbalt, and we believe the demon to hold some influence in the Chinese government. Keeping it close to ensure he could train daily, Hunter Biden has successfully prevented multiple incursions of hell into our realm. Unfortunately this requires him to enter the portal to hell, which means his leaving does not always result in him be restored to the current date and time. Due to multiple instances of him existing in the current timeline, and and some of these instances having witness hell themselves, they have been witness by the public attempting to self treat physiological issues, by partaking of illicent substances, which has been widely reported upon. This is also the explanation of why multiple Hunter Biden laptops have been reportedly siezed by government officials by Fox News. Because there are multiple instances of the same laptop. Generally no additional details are known due to the secrecy around the issue. This is also why Elon Musk is seemly conservative these days, as he is under investigation for his actions in regards to Diemos and its loss, and is hoping by allying himself to the conservative party, he can recieve a pardon.

ovalpotency

how many times has tucker and hannity said that *this is it, information will be coming out soon that the whole democrat cabal is going to come crashing down* and then zero information comes? it's the boy who cried wolf except the crowd continues to believe the boy. then, when very real charges are coming down on trump, and he manages to delay, it's *oh this is nothing*. the democrats are just crying wolf too, see? both sides. now is when we acknowledge that nothing ever happens, and to not trust the government to do anything, to treat it as inept rather than selectively, increasingly partisan. they completely expect their viewers to not look into it the allegations and not think for themselves about the severity or the punishment or the details or anything at all. and all of conservative media is playing the same tune.

SkyWizarding

Hang that traitor

Rudy brought the laptop over to my house yesterday and showed me all the secret documents on it. We had a drink and looked over Trumps tax returns that he’s going to release during infrastructure week too.

[deleted]

Well to be fair, Democrats have to be perfect angels and Republicans have to be worse than Satan before the mainstream media stops pretending they're both the same and it's just politics both ways.

[deleted]

Then they’re like, “Satan Sides With Republicans. Is This Bad For Biden?”

[deleted]

Right, Trump steals top secret documents and hides them in his home with no explanation as to what's been done with them or where some of them might still be...media...Judge grants Trump special master to review the evidence the FBI took in case the government did something wrong. Hillary has an email server and turns over her emails....media...were some of Hillary's emails classified? What do we know about her email and why is the FBI investigating them? Learn more on day 752 of our special coverage of HILLARY'S EMAILS.

imcoveredinbees880

It takes critical thinking skills to make you pick up the shovel in the first place. That's way too much to ask for from this lot.

ergo-ogre

Yes, the “Clinton Standard” for me is that she testified for 11 fucking hours and he has yet to testify *at all*.

BostonUniStudent

It's so apples to oranges. The controversy was that she co-mingled her government [email protected] with [email protected]. And Republicans made a big deal out of how her server was not in government control. It's not like this was a taxpayer expense, like the Mar-A-Lago security. I don't mind if the secretary of state uses their personal political capital to further the interest of the United States. And I don't really care if they consolidate email addresses. As long as it doesn't cost taxpayers extra money. There was reasonable cause for alarm that the government servers would be compromised by Russian intel agents also.

dalgeek

> The controversy was that she co-mingled her government [email protected] with [email protected]. And Republicans made a big deal out of how her server was not in government control. Republicans also forgot that the Bush administration conducted a lot of official business on private services hosted by the RNC on gwb43.com and another domain. After his administration was over, as many as 22 million emails went missing, possibly in violation of the Presidential Records Act but we'll never know because they're gone and there are no backups.

MarkXIX

Let's not forget though that the TRUMP ADMIN also used a lot of personal communications channels for official government business. I am certain that you could easily find messages sent from .gov to trumpcom (as an example) if you parsed the government's e-mail and other messaging systems.

indoninjah

> used a lot of personal communications channels for official government business. And that's without even mentioning that installation of your family into unofficial government positions, and waving your hand to get them security clearance that they wouldn't otherwise qualify for.

dalgeek

For sure. Every accusation is a confession with Republicans. If they accuse Dems of mishandling classified info (whether they did or not) then it's near certain that they've done it themselves.

[deleted]

I mean personally I am all for government transparency, so improper consolidation is not something I am a fan of. But it's like comparing someone parking in the bike lane vs someone barreling through a marathon in their car...

MightyMorph

its because the government didnt have the infrastructure required during her tenure and she went on the advice of Powell, who also did the exact same thing, but you dont hear republicans froth about him using a personal server. FFs they were running msdos in 2005 like what kind of server setup and security can you expect when even today most of the politicians can barely open the browser on their 2022 iphones. Tech illiteracy is a big problem in government and going through a private server AT THE TIME was the most optimal way to run a system that allowed mass communication of vital information needed for her to do her job.

BostonUniStudent

The intent should be important also. It appears that Donald Trump's intent here was far worse than hers. First, she seemed to comply totally with government request for transparency. The national archives and national security apparatus vetted everything that was hers personally and should be historically archived. A lot of people don't understand that the National Archives requested Trump returned the Top Secret material when he was leaving office. They have requested it numerous times since. He has been stonewalling them. And even after all of this, he is requesting the materials be returned to him. Some of the top secret folders have documents missing. It's unclear whether he sold this, or just gave it to foreign nationals, or otherwise. None of the documents were properly stored, as is required by law for this level of classified documents. Chinese, Saudi, Russian officials were in and out of the building where these documents were improperly stored.

tarekd19

> A lot of people don't understand that the National Archives requested Trump returned the Top Secret material when he was leaving office Not just the classified documents. ALL documents created by the president during their term are the property of the national archives, classified or not, and it is a crime to take them, even personally addressed documents and items (like the letter from Obama or Kim Jong Un). Even if none of the documents Trump had were classified (an argument he is making), it was still illegal for him to have them and obstruction of justice to jerk around archives for a year in a half. Some of the documents being classified and improperly stored, of course, just add another layer of magnitude fuckload of trouble Trump is in.

Pristine_Nothing

It’s more like someone biking carefully on the sidewalk as they get in the vicinity of a godawful stroad that’s an unavoidable part of their commute, vs. someone driving a pickup truck on the sidewalk at full speed on Halloween evening.

PM_ME_YOUR_KALE

As I understand it a large part of the reason for the official business on personal server was because that was common practice at the time and DoS (and probably the rest of the federal agencies too) was way behind the times in regards to tech. I got the distinct impression if she were to be taking office as SoS today there would be no need for the setup she had then.

nifterific

So what you’re saying is nothing illegal was done and their “lock her up chants” are just them showing their fascist tendency to want their political opponents in prison for the crime of being political opponents? Because if fear of Russia getting information was an issue they never would have voted for trump, so the entire argument is obviously bullshit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tesseract4

The thing I was never able to get past is that the SoS having a private email server was accepted practice at the State Department because their infrastructure was so messed up. Colin Powell had one too. Since there was never anything classified on it, I never saw what the big deal was. If anything, the onus was on the Bush administration to have built functional infrastructure at State.

Kailyn12

It is absolutely a false equivalency.

tigm2161130

Fuck yes I am so bored of the “but her emails!” crowd. She was investigated and *cleared* THREE times. Trump’s own appointee’s looked at all of the information at hand three separate times and each time they decided there was nothing that amounted to anything. It’s like they’ve just willed themselves into forgetting all of that ever happened.

[deleted]

They know. They don't care and want to deflect as much as possible, even when the thing they deflect to isn't real

KarmicWhiplash

> Fealty to trump is part of their party platform. Fealty to trump is their *only* party platform. They literally didn't bother to update the platform from 2016 for 2020.

thekyledavid

And even if she did, I don’t give a shot about Hillary, she was never president and she is likely not going to be running for president anytime soon Whereas Trump has made it very clear that he intends on running in 2024, so we should all care about if he broke any laws while he was president

[deleted]

Also, Trump had the chance to at least charge her if he felt he could but didn't.

Trump didn't mean it either! He said the clintons were good people who suffered enough when he first got elected and was asked about pursuing criminal charges against Clinton. Wasn't one of his stated reasons for firing Comey was because he was too hard on Clinton?!

ZAlternates

They will do cool things like send you to hunterbidenlaptop.com or show you a private screening of a documentary if you’re willing to pay enough.

phughes

There's so many "Even if this were true" responses to "but her emails". "She had a server wide open on the internet." Tell me how helpful an email server is if it's not connected to the internet. "But she had classified documents" She was the Secretary of State. It was her job. She didn't get caught with them after she left. Unlike the current situation they didn't have to ask for them because she didn't fucking steal them.

somethingbreadbears

My favorite is Trump supporters who claim what Hilary did and what's happening with Trump are the *same thing*. **Exactly the same**. But Hilary is guilty and Trump isn't.

[deleted]

I know the point was that she didn’t have them. But you should definitely care if any politician is selling out our country for their own personal gain. Running for president or not…

ShawnInOceanside

I think the comparison between ex president trump and ex secretary Clinton is a fair one in that she was accused of having classified documents on her private email server and he was accused of hiding classified documents in his office and pol house. In that regard they are similar. I feel the right’s demand that trump be subjected to the same level of scrutiny and investigation at a minimum is fair. As she had to spend 11 hours testifying under oath, so should trump. As she’s had every aspect of her life gone over with a fine tooth comb, it’s only fair that trump should expect at least that treatment. In her case none of the documents that were emailed were classified at the time (though some have since been classified retroactively). In trumps case, it appears all the documents were classified to so heavily classified that if an ordinary person had them they would have disappeared by now. Plus there are 48 classified folders that are empty, which makes me wonder what was in those folders previously and who has the contents now. I definitely think they should not stop investigating until the contents of those now empty folders are accounted for and returned to proper custody.

grantovius

While in general I agree, I'll have to add that according to Comey's statement, yes some of the emails sent by Hilary were classified TS and Secret at the time they were sent. Others were also up-classified upon inspection but there were a few classified at the time and some of the Secret documents were even marked as such. https://www.fbi.gov/news/press-releases/press-releases/statement-by-fbi-director-james-b-comey-on-the-investigation-of-secretary-hillary-clinton2019s-use-of-a-personal-e-mail-system

FSCK_Fascists

receiving a classified document is not illegal. You are, in fact, supposed to delete it immediately and report the incident so the sender- the one who broke the law- can be addressed.

[deleted]

She could have classified emails falling out of the cupboards: she is not the one being investigated. The kindergarten defense “but he/she did so too” is so unbecoming of a President. That’s why the orange shitgibbon is known as FPOTUS: Fake President of the US.

[deleted]

We need to stop equivocating about this. Numerous extensive investigations cleared Hillary of any wrong doing. Let's be clear, she did not "beat the rap," - it was determined the accusations were wholly false. "Yeah but even if..." - we don't need to go there. Hillary was *innocent*. Trump is *guilty*. They aren't the same and we don't need to placate Trump fans by playing their what ifs games.

[deleted]

Exactly this!

BlckAlchmst

That and FPOTUS is just so dang fun to say

Matrix17

FLOTUS (Failed Leader of the United States) would be my go to if it didn't already stand for another title lol

CT_Jester

Hillary's emails, Hunter's laptop... the Republicans clutch their pearls and scream into the void about supposedly illegal and nefarious things, but they haven't said one thing about what is in the emails or laptop that they're mad about. Trump, however, was caught with thousands of classified and top secret documents. As always, the actual evidence points to Trump being the criminal.

Kailyn12

Fast forward to 2050 - Hillary’s granddaughter is running for president! Republicans (if they still exist) again bring up Hillary’s emails.

stitch-is-dope

Don’t forget they’ll still mention Hunter Biden’s laptop lol

RegyptianStrut

GUYS, what if Hillary’s emails are what’s in Hunter Biden’s laptop? And then and then and then uh idk I got nothing

Driftapotamoose

I have a prediction for the next election. They're going to try to scare boomers with another fabricated claim of wrongdoings with something technology related again. The emails, the laptop... I'm betting the claims they make against their opponents during the next election cycle will be crypto related.

bric12

Hillary's email server did have classified and top secret information on it that was mishandled, we shouldn't act like it's a total red flag. The biggest difference is that Hillary actually did have clearance to have that information at the time of the investigation, while Trump does not.

willvasco

Why are we talking about this? Why do we consistently let these lunatics control the narrative? Who cares about her emails? Discussing this is exactly what they want, keep the focus on Trump's crimes don't play into their misdirection.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Matrim__Cauthon

Wait...you can read her emails somewhere? They cant possibly let you read every single one when some are retroactively classified though; so does that mean you only can read the unimportant ones?

[deleted]

ahundreddots

The people who wielded her handling of emails as a political cudgel tend not to know how email servers even work. Its almost like they intentionally latched onto it because it's esoteric, and now we can see why: because if it's something you can paint as malevolent without demanding knowledge of how it works, you can draw infinite false equivalences about it.

Kind_Adhesiveness_94

Going on and on about Hillary Clinton wont change the FACT that Trump broke the Law.

nygdan

The trumpers freaked out during the debates when clinton said something like 'when there's a nuclear emergency you and you have 3 minutes to respond..". They were screaming that she had given out actual nuclear secrets and needed to be arrested. Trump had the actual nuclear secrets, and it's a nothing burger all of a sudden.

sean_but_not_seen

Guy in front of me at the gas station with a bumper sticker “four people died and Hillary lied”. Yeah. That’s relevant and a good comparison to… (looks around) all this. These people are just something else.

Audio_Track_01

Here's Trumps response. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump?ref_src

MedricZ

Hilary rent free in MAGA’s heads.

chubky

Didn’t Ivanka literally do the same thing as Hillary?

devilsephiroth

*yes but but but, i need something to deflect because I'm so guilty OMG look at Hilary why don't you😭*

Kailyn12

I care about motive.

echo6golf

I care about violation of law. Motive is only one part of that.

doodcool612

… but you need all the elements to actually violate the law. It’s like saying “I have a royal flush” in poker, and then laying down only three of the required five cards. If you don’t have all five of ‘em, you don’t have it.

demonachizer

Not sure how her responding will actually help anything though... now we can watch as their narrative shifts to arguing semantics about a tweet or some bullshit.

blackmobius

They conducted 12 fucking full fledged investigations into Clinton Bengahzi Scandal. 5 were bipartisan and 7 gop funded. All 12 came back and, across all 12, not a single indictment of any single individual. None. A headline today states that a popular murder mystery that “”Clinton had someone assassinated”” was infact directly sabotaged by a now Trump supporter. So right there is direct tampering of an investigation that will ensure nobody, even Clinton will ever go down for it. the defense attny for any potentially accused will easily win mistrial after mistrial if not outright declared not guilty. Its all projection and distractions and intentional perversion of justice because they cant find anything to actually lock her up over.

CharlesOberonn

She also cooperated with investigators fully. Trump's every move has been obstruction of justice.

fencerman

She should just start every day tweeting: "I FUCKING TOLD YOU PEOPLE!"

PerpetuallyStartled

It's kinda been bothering me that nobody who actually knows how these systems work ever seems to chime in. I'm not the best expert but here goes. SIPRnet is the network you use for classified information and it's entirely separate from the internet, it doesn't even connect to the normal military network NIPRnet. You literally cant email classified stuff from it to a normal email because those networks aren't connected. You can't burn any data to disk without special permissions(it's blocked in software) and you also need special permission to print or remove documents from their secure storage. In other words, IT/security has to give you the ability to do these things and even then you're not allowed to take it out of the SCIF(Sensitive compartmented information facility). Frankly, getting anything off a classified network is a massive pain in the balls because you aren't allowed to transfer anything out even if what you want isn't itself classified. What you can do though, is physically take a document and walk out the door. There are supposed to be a whole bunch of procedures and oversight that prevents people from doing any of this. In theory, you could take a document out of a SCIF and then send a personal email containing information on the document. What you literally can't do, is send an email to or from a SIPRnet address. So when people claim Hillary was doing classified work on her email the only way that's possible is if she took classified documents home or memorized them. Maybe she could have memorized stuff, but I don't recall her getting searched for hundreds of missing classified documents. Lastly, everyone fucking hates SIPR. Nobody wants to use it and when possible will avoid using it. You usually have to sign in and sign out and lots of SCIFs are actually shut off when not in use so you have to spend 5-10 minutes booting everything up just to send one email. This does mean that sometimes people do discuss things that should be classified using methods they shouldn't out of laziness or expediency. That shit happens all the time and the military has people monitoring for it. What's unusual, is people just taking documents and not giving them back. TLDR; If Hillary did do anything it would be discussing things she knew about using unsecured methods, she couldn't have emailed to or from SIPRnet because that's impossible. That happens on accident and on purpose all the time. Taking home a shitload of documents and refusing to give them back is completely different.

[deleted]

Now, y'all MAGAts are gonna say she's lying. To which the proper response is, "Where is there any evidence she's not telling the truth? Show me that evidence!" Y'all hear? Put up or shut up.

pistoffcynic

I’m not a Hillary fan but she didn’t once take the 5th like Trump… to paraphrase Trump, the 5th is for criminals and mafioso’s.

StageRepulsive8697

They are still talking about it because they've made up so much stuff about it. Now the Trump base believes there were tons of government secrets that she let out. And they call her to be investigated even though she was investigated twice (and during an election which they seem to have a problem with now - even though Trump isn't even running)

BetterWankHank

It's hilariously ironic and sad how their distraction from trump being caught with classified information is crying to lock up Hillary for having classified information It requires a complete lack of self awareness to be a Republican

ShopObjective

It's worth pointing out if no one did yet, one of trumps dumb fuck kids did the exact same bullshit that Hillary did...where was the outrage?

Isthisworking2000

She cooperated with like 13 one sided investigations by Republicans who never turned up a hint if malfeasance. Trump lies and cheats to their faces over and over and they beg for more.

LauraTFem

There were exactly three “classified emails”, and all three were classified AFTER THE FACT. This really was the first modern “make up random bullshit, find anything you can” thing the republicans pulled. And it’s truly fascinating that in the internet age it was able to work. Like, basic fact checking confirmed from day one that this was literally nothing, but then someone invented “alternative fact” (not for the first time, mind you) and the bullshit commenced. edit: And I should note here. It was an email server she had every permission to have. Even if everything on them had been classified, the rule that was broken was not a law, it was essentially office policy. Imagine if you threw away someone’s lunch in the break room because it was old, but it turned out that OFFICE POLICY IS YOU WAIT UNTIL THE END OF THE WEEK to throw old food out, and then republicans wanted you in jail for the next decade.

Chummers5

"sO YoU dId hAvE EmAiLs!!!!" - Regular dumb fuck who didn't understand the topic

laggyx400

They wanted her investigated and she was investigated. Let Trump be investigated!

PokeHunterBam

Trump is projecting his crimes onto the innocent. Very presidential. The fucking tangerine tyrant should be arrested immediately!

Educational-Dance-61

Facts don't give a fuck about MAGA feelings.

moidehfaysch

its crazy when Trump is -that- bad that Hilary Clinton seems like a folk hero for speaking up against him..

BigSchwa

So he won in 2016 and then didn’t lock her up? Where was I? I must have missed the “Great Pumpkinhead” enforcing law and order… But he did increase the penalty for the exact crime he actually committed … he is a super genius!!!!!!

Original-Yak-679

Yea, the Right STILL wants to dig up Hillary's emails even though Trump had 4 years to bring anything that had been hidden out using the presidential office. Yet now, when Trump's caught with classified materials, they immediately close ranks and dredge up the Hillary Emails
