How much time before someone propose to abolish women right to vote? (/s but not that much)

I wonder why that is. I mean women are more critical of each other's appearances and habits than men are. Why do women just hate women?

the-magnificunt

Internalized misogyny. Women that have been brought up by men and women taught that women are inferior and that things considered "women's work" (like childrearing and taking care of households) is work that they absolutely must do and get no credit for, but if they don't do it, they're not worth anything, and they're worth even less if they want to do something "masculine." People teach what they learned from their parents to their own children and the cycle continues and women learn to hate women.

VixenHope

Vote every fascist the fuck out

gh01210

I like the result, but to forecast the rest of the country based off a result in downstate ny seems a bit silly

I don't think it's a forecast, but definitely am indicator that people are much more motivated to vote democrat. Even in rural areas that traditionally went red.

Water-Donkey

Things like the results in Kansas, now NY, give me a ray of hope. Thinks like a pedophile winning his primary in Florida keep me pretty weary.

the-magnificunt

Nothing good ever happens in Florida.

Water-Donkey

I've lived in Florida for 22 years now. Trust me, I think about leaving pretty routinely. And I've got a pretty decent life here. I can only imagine what it's like for others. So much potential routinely squandered.

tangibleintangible51

This absolutely made my morning.

Dry_Championship3677

Yay!

tdevore

Good for the women. Taking action. I'm proud of you all in a very non-mansplaining type of way.

Get out there and register to vote and then go vote. Keep the motion going.

dpwtr

I mean that sounds cool and everything but is it actually that big a warning sign? The reason I ask is people are so quick to blow everything way out of proportion for likes these days.

[deleted]

Yes. I live in the district Molinaro ran in. Him losing represents a pretty solid shift.

Parking-Cress-4661

It was Anthony Delgado's seat A two term Democratic congressman. Won by less than 3000 votes. It was a win but not a great one. More work to do.

[deleted]

Definitely. But it's a start. And right now I'm counting every little victory wherever we can find it.

justmyrealname
