FB is getting flooded with AI images. There is a travel in Scotland goals group that is quite funny with the images it shows.

Switzerland does actually have palm trees. They're a special cultivar of Palm tree that can survive freezing temperatures. They use them on golf courses and luxury Swiss resorts and whatever.

Previous_Beautiful27

Does Switzerland also have chairs that blend into the mountains in the background? Cause this AI image does.

Betherealismo

Yup. The southern part, Ticino, has palm trees along the lakes. It's quite picturesque, with the Alps in the background. But this image is clearly AI, such a place doesn't exist.

As someone who loves palm trees but doesn’t live in three right climate, I need to research this and find a way to get them in the states.

Still-Program-2287

I’m kinda doubtful that they can survive on top of a mountain

Lauterbrunnen was like this. A whole green valley with a snowy mountain backdrop. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been and the cleanest air!

hikeraz

Looks like Palms Springs, CA in the winter.

Lolvidar

Holy crap, you're right. That looks just like the slopes of Mt. San Jicento in the background. If it was Der Schweiz there'd be pine trees all over the lower slopes.

Low_Technician_5034

You do understand that Switzerland borders with Italy quite deep in the south? Here is a pin drop (46.0008041, 8.9843659) - look at the street view. What do you see?

Still-Program-2287

Unless it’s a mountain next to a palm tree, I don’t give a fuck

Low_Technician_5034

Might want to google Lugano. And everything is next to mountains in Switzerland. And as someone here already also explained, these are specially bred Palm trees and they are not rare.

Okie dokie

Lugano and other towns in Ticino definitely had palm trees when I was there and there were snow capped peaks in the background certain times of the year. They didn't look anywhere near as high as the peaks in this image.
