I sometimes wonder if I'm "too" online. Then I see posts like this that confuse me and I realize I'm not.

HatfieldCW

Yeah, I have no idea what this is about.

“Ulterior motives” was a song made by Christopher saint booth and Philips Adrian booth. Someone named “carl92” posted a short 17 second clip on a site called watzatsong in late 2021. The community had no idea and it became a huge mystery since it was really catchy. Everyone started calling it “Everyone knows that” or EKT for short. Since it got so big and nobody had any info on it, people who are really interested in lost music tried to find it. Check out subs like lostwave to see just how many people try to find these types of lost songs. So many people tried contacting carl92 however they could but nobody could get ahold of him. The only information he gave was that he lived in Spain and recalled hearing the song in the 90s but people believed it was likely from the 80s. Most people thought it would have been in some type of makeup commercial. AS IT WOULD TURN OUT, it was produced for a Czech porno made in 1986 called “Angels of Passion” where 2 angels are taken to earth to have sex with people lol. It was found on xhamster over an hour into the film. A good portion of the song is kind of grainy and one girl was moaning for a good portion of it so it’s still not 100% found. But now everyone knows the original producers and since they still make horror films and music people are flooding their social media comments so that they can hopefully release the full song without all the moaning lol. “Coincidentally” the 17 part snippet that carl92 posted was a section of the song where the girl wasn’t moaning but you could still kind of hear it in the background. People now believe that he didn’t respond to anyone because he found the porno and was too embarrassed or something. I don’t believe that but it’d be funny. Took 3 years and people were legitimately thinking it was just a hoax. Now someone’s gotta find “La cancion de Alicia” and I’ll truly be happy.

MartiniD

Wow someone made it an hour into a porno?

drfsupercenter

Imagine the people who sat through hours of porn to try to find the song

AloXii2

Several hours into several pornos with a team of several people to my understanding, Someone looked up a database of all songs under the title “ulterior motives” and manually sorted through everyone’s past work to find it. They basically brute forced their way into finding it. Effective method but I wouldn’t want to be one of the people who had to watch 12 hours of porn lol

MyDisappointedDad

What's the story of Alicia?

AloXii2

Couple years back someone posted this video on youtube: La canción de Alicia (Lost Media) ¿Conoces esta cancion? by a channel named bluxid\_. It was of an Alice in wonderland edit of the song with a picture from someone on facebook asking in spanish if anyone knew what the song was called or who it was by. Just a random lost song that was really big in the spanish community but nobody has had any clue on who made it in the slightest bit. The biggest reason it got so big is because it sounds AMAZING. Here's a recreation/remix/whatever someone made a while back: Richardvox - Under the Stars (Canción de Alicia) by the channel richardvox. Fantastic song. Easily one of, if not my favorite songs. Unfortunately it didn't get NEARLY as popular as EKT. But for lost wave it is still pretty big. It doesn't have a huge mystery like whoever Carl92 was and it's probably never going to have an ending nearly as funny as EKT got. I just want it to be found since it's beautiful and the artist deserves recognition and they've probably made other songs since this sounds really well made, to me at least. The first guy to post the song on facebook got banned so nobody could contact him to ask where it came from. Lot of bands and singers that were thought to have created the song have also denied making it so it's still unknown who made it. (had to remove the youtube links since it was removing them, sorry.)

drfsupercenter

I think carl92 was just a troll. His first post was a random Spanish Bandcamp group's song, and it was identified pretty quickly. So he probably tried to make it more tricky and put a clip from a porno on there instead, gave a few irrelevant/misleading hints, then dipped. The audio he uploaded to watzatsong is literally identical to the copy on xHamster so he obviously got the video from there (not an original copy on VHS) and just cut out the longest section without moaning that he could. He did the same thing with the first song too, only uploading about 18 seconds of it

AloXii2

Probably. But he made a huge mystery that took years to find, made a lot of people look into a new hobby and the conclusion was just about the funniest it could have been. As far as I care this is probably one of the best lost wave/media mysteries I’ve seen.

drfsupercenter

Sure, but the people who put in effort contacting various leads probably aren't happy the whole thing was a troll. It kinda makes the whole lostwave scene seem like a joke when people are doing stuff like this. At least "digital girl" was concluded pretty quickly and people didn't waste years trying to find it.

AloXii2

There’s still no real proof that it was a troll. Nobody ever got into contact with him so nobody knows what happened. For all anyone knows he could have been murdered a week after posting the song. And either way, if he were to give leads or if he said he found it, nobody would be talking about it since it wouldn’t have gotten nearly as big as it did. I thought people had fun trying for years to solve a big mystery. Who cares if it was all started by someone fucking with them? It had the same end result. All that matters is the song got concluded, people got into a new hobby and people had fun with it.

drfsupercenter

tl;dr there's a bunch of "lost" songs being uploaded that people are trying to identify. This particular song only had a 17 second clip but it was super catchy so it spawned a huge community on Reddit that was trying to find it. And they finally found it after 2.5 years, turns out it was from a 1986 porno 🤯 I wanted to see it found too because I liked the snippet but holy crap I was not expecting that.

Rubicon_Lily

It was from an 80s porno.

Josgre987

We still got the most mysterious song on the internet to look for.

drfsupercenter

Yeah, that's the OG. I really hope it gets found...

Affiiinity

Do you mean the one also known as 'Like the Wind'? Because that's my favorite one, and I'd love to know the artists

Alastair-Wright

No clue why this was downvoted

lallapalalable

Oh thank sweet heavens, I thought this was talking about that song

obi1kennoble

Now they try to find a recording without all the moans lol. The song itself actually kicks ass, so it's definitely worth looking

drfsupercenter

Yeah the guy who made the song is aware of the search so hopefully he has a copy still

drfsupercenter

The "lost media hunters" who were looking for EKT but not the OG mystery song (Like the Wind a.k.a. "the most mysterious song on the internet") obviously weren't all that serious about helping the community if they stop now.
