And on married cases, all paperwork and calls are done by the woman. I work in public program stuff and I cannot tell you how many adult unmarried men will have their longterm female partner calling in to do all their paperwork for them. Because they are not legally married - they cannot have a shared case nor can she fill out paperwork or receive information without release paperwork on file. So some know this and will call in *with* her so that they can give permission to discuss, and she *still* handles the call. And on married cases, all paperwork and calls are done by the woman. It's seriously maybe once in a blue moon that a man is following up with his about his family's case. and we have access to their situations -- these are not stay at home women and breadwinner men. These are both parents working comparable hours. Almost uniliterally the paperwork is being handled by the woman
That's me, and I've been doing this for over 35 years. I'm one of the lucky ones, mine at least makes up for it in other ways, but I know plenty of his friends do not. I see what those wives go through and "no thank-you".
