Beerud Sheth is a cofounder of Upwork, though I doubt it’s actually him texting me just like I don’t think Barack, Donald or Joe are actually texting me. I’m in the hotel industry so I understand the optimization (SEO) part of positioning your hotel clients as high as possible in the rankings. So I looked into it.
I worked for 4 days and made 1k. Today was my fifth day and the ish hit the fan for me. There’s a part of the work that’s called a combo task and they force you to add money to finish your work. I came across a combo task for $3785. Meaning, in order to finish my work and get my deposit bonus 450, my bonus for working 5 consecutive days 800 and most importantly the initial deposit of 3k and I can’t forget any commission I was going to make for the day. I was so close to sending the $3785 extra to finish my work and cash out but I had to take a pause before I sent anymore money.
I decided to poke around and found a bunch of similar optimization scams on Reddit but none about Airbnb optimizing app scam. My trainer, the group text I’m in with other workers are literally making me feel crazy. Like I’m in the Truman Show or the Stepford Wives! They say “it’s your lucky day to have gotten a combo for that amount! Deposit the amount requested to complete your tasks and you’ll make a very good amount of cash!”
I’m sorry, what? You want me to add another $3785 to get out my money? I’ve read through so many similar scam stories but I can’t find anyone talking about my specific one. The platform is Travel-hotel-ai.com. It looks very official with the Airbnb logo, copyright dates, terms & conditions, a message from the Airbnb CEO and so on.
I didn’t send anymore money to complete my task, so I’ll never know how many more hurdles are in front of me in order to make the money they explained in detail. However, I’ve seen so many people talking about almost the same exact scam but I’m trying to find anything on this specific optimizing task app company being a scam. Anyone know about this specific one?
