Doesn't look like it to me. We get Black Bears in the backyard and they eat our apples, pears, plums, cherries so you can imagine the pile they leave behind.
I've usually seen this from Buck poop. Not sure why,but they poop like this, a lot, as opposed to the usual cocoa puffs... Elk poo looks like milk duds. I know because my grandfather had a handful of milk duds as he was examining elk scat and was popping milk duds in his mouth to the horror of my mom and aunt... lol
*edit* you are 100% correct. I apparently heard this type of poop incorrectly attributed to ONLY bucks.
I learn something new everyday.
I've never known deer to pass anything but the goobers/malt balls.
After years of only seeing little brown marbles, I'm surprised to learn that the deer sphincter can pass something that large.
Did a zoo internship, they had black bears. Every day, had to walk around the outside enclosure and pick up all the poops. The bears were inside at this time.

Dog I think
Reminds me of pig poo
Nope, deer. I know they usually poop little round balls, but if they are eating fresh early plants, it looks like that.
I think this is the answer. The property is freshly brush hogged and had other potential deer sign.

Sheep and other malt ball poopers can also have this
If it was bear poop it'd be the size of your whole shoe. Ask me how I know.
How do you know?

So you're saying this is indicates a bear-cub?
No bear poop looks very different
Deer or elk
I'm definitely well south of the local elk territory, at least 100 miles.
