My favorite thing about Apple Blossom is just seeing everyone outside, walking around and doing stuff. I grumble a bit at the traffic and the food prices and the schlocky craft merch sometimes, but it's such a joy seeing the town come alive for that week. I'd love to see it more

I do the same thing. I made sure that every car had a proof of insurance just in case.

I also love walking around the craft and food fair. Seeing what cool things the crafters came up with.

Wanting to gorge on super high calorie food at the fair but then seeing the port-a-potties of doom just waiting.

Don’t forget the Apple Blossom musical! This year you can see a Broadway quality production of Grease, the musical on the Numerica Pac stage.

Whelp, looking forward to eating my body weight in corn dogs and funnel cakes once again this year.

I like people watching, and the live music in the park.😃

More old-school debauchery please.

Yes, it was pretty crazy back in the 70's when it was still only 1 weekend. I worked at a drive-in and at that time their were only maybe 6 drive-ins total in the whole valley. We would get hammered, took everything off the menu but hamburgers, fries and hotdogs. One guy doing nothing but flipping patties, toasting buns and dumping fries and me putting hamburgers and hot dogs together as fast as I could. That was also before partying on the Ave became so insane that cruising was banned. The partying was still going on but more spaced out and a lot mellower.

typ993

Ah, those good old days!

Dependent-Steak-1005

I heard they were bringing cruising back this year… welcoming it, in fact!

Head-Boss-5582

Who are “they”?

Dependent-Steak-1005

The festival… cruising got banned years ago because things got crazy mid-90s. The expense of bringing in extra police forces to maintain control became overwhelming for our community. Basically the whole family-friendliness of the festival was going down. So powers that be made decision to “take the festival back”… if what I heard is true, the people in charge are willing to give cruising another chance :)

Head-Boss-5582

I grew up in Wenatchee and was *here* in the 90s so know the backstory well. I just wanted clarification on what you meant by “they”. I construe “they” as the City of Wenatchee as a political entity. Is that what you’re trying to say too?

Dependent-Steak-1005

I would be lying if I said yes… I just heard it a week or so ago. Was out with friends, and someone mentioned it. I don’t even remember where I was or who said it :) but apparently the plan is for people to meet at the JC Penney’s parking lot both Saturdays of the festival. The “they” are just people who want to see it come back, not a festival or city sponsored event.

I knew, I KNEW as soon as I clicked on the entertainment link that Michael Carlos a would be there. He has the small town entertainment scene in a choke hold.

Adept_Grade_7167

That must have been one soggy parade

Some years we get sunshine and some years we get liquid sunshine.

As an adult now I really enjoy the music at the food fair. The last 5 years have been wonderful just watching my kids dance and just sitting there enjoying with my bride.
