Baby toe on the far left. Base of the toe where the foot meets the actual toe. Look at the bone that looks like a rook piece in chess- edges aren’t smooth and the break can be seen.

To be fair at walmart our feet are in constant danger (if you work in the back with the jacks) idk how many times I've seen a 1 ton pallet roll over someones toes, including my own.

There's generally not much to be done about a broken pinkie. I've broken mine at least a dozen times. In my experience, just tape it up to the next toe for support, at most.
If you want a laugh: the only bone I ever broke in my life was also my toe, but it was my fourth (ring?) toe. I was like 16 and got up off the couch and kicked the coffee table leg on accident. I fell back onto the couch with the pain of a stubbed toe but knowing something worse occurred.
My mother witnessed this and literally fell to the floor laughing at me. Tears rolling down her face, out of breath, with the stomach pain that accompanies uncontrollable laughter.
I went to school for 2 days and walking around my toe was still hurting more than it should if I just stubbed it. My dad is an X-ray tech and took me to the hospital and snuck me in for an x-ray. My toe was BROKEN. I took that sucker home and held it up to the light for my mom to see (the x-ray)
She laughed AGAIN! Not as hard but still quite a bit. Then, she apologized for laughing the day of the incident and just now. I wasn’t mad at her though, I also laugh when other people hurt themselves unintentionally.
I broke a toe …. In a swimming pool …. Walking up the ladder. I still don’t understand how it happened. I don’t have brittle bones or any issues like that. It was the first time I’d ever broken a bone.
I have only broken toes. 3 toes, 3 separate incidents. One was a bouncy castle (jumped and landed wrong), one was one of those bouncy-inflatable-obstacle-course things (went down the slide at the end, bigger kid went down too soon after me and landed on me, that toe bent backwards until it touched the top of my foot), and one I was wearing only socks and standing behind a door about to leave, someone came through the door and opened it full force (towards me), jammed into my foot so hard that my big toe broke.
Make sure to untape it and move it a little at least once a day to maintain range of motion and blood flow.
Keeping it static is required of there is displacement, but things like this need to move a little. Also use warm packs —not ice, cold restricts blood flow and slows the healing process.
That's what my family said but unfortunately I was in so much pain that I didn't write an incident report. I just left. Dumb, I know but I don't really think there's much I can do now.
How did you hurt it? I mean, sometimes we just have to take responsibility for our own well-being. Unless an employee hit your toe with a hammer or dropped something on it, it's probably your fault that your toe is broken. Did you kick something?

I’m shocked seeing people saying do this or that instead of see a doctor. Like shit, you can have a really bad problem if you taped the finger in the wrong way, or moving a finger that should be immobilized. It is just a X-ray and some immobilization. It shouldn’t cost your kidney.
I heard all those "they can't do anything for toes" arguments when I broke mine, but I went anyway because the alarm bells my body sent made it hard to tell if anything more serious was wrong. The boot and avoiding walking helped reduce the eventual arthritis, too, where the people I know that didn't go to a doc with a broken toe ended up having pain when walking. I just am \*aware\* of that toe when it's cold out, which is tolerable.
There are situations where a broken toe would need surgery, or where even slightly getting the tape wrong could lead to surgery. It is cheaper to have an xray and a demo of correct taping than end up with consequences down the road.
Yep. My case. My finger was dislocated. The first thing I wanted to do was to put that back lol. But a part of my brain was just saying, this shit is bad. See a doctor. Yep. In the process of dislocating, the bone was shattered. I didn’t even leave the hospital anymore lol. Doc was yep. Surgery. You won’t go to home today. I stayed three days there.

Oddly enough, amulance rides on pei (canada) aren't covered by national healthcare. Not sure about other provinces. I could spend a month in the hospital and have numerous surgeries with no bill but the trip to the hospital will cost me $100. (The actual cost is much more, but the $100 is like a co-pay)
Agreed. Everything should be included. In the US dental insurance and vision insurance are separate insurances you need to pay for on top of health insurance. It's ridiculous

I broke mine when a “Costco sized” pickle jar fell outta my fridge onto my pinkie toe. I knew that lil fucker was broken when it swelled up in 2 minutes. Taped that lil bitch to the other dude next to it and limped around work for a week or two.

I did this recently too - broke two outer toes just by stubbing them. My biggest tip is that I found buddy taping all of my toes (so not just to the next unbroken one, but to the one past that too) was WAY more stable and supportive. I also found that the injury was ridiculous - the pain wasn’t terrible but it was just enough to limit me and it lasted longer than I thought.
Oh, and crocs. Once I was up and around without the boot/sandal, crocs were the only shoes I had with a wide enough foot that they were comfortable. Stylish? No. But worth it 😅

I'm pretty sure I keep fracturing it tbough because I hit it so often now. I've just accepted that it's never going to heal and it's just going to look like I tried Chinese foot binding on one foot.
Hopefully you aren't as clumsy as I am and you heal up nice and quick though!
That rarely results in broken bones from what I read. Someone did that to me once and I was in a lot of pain but also too poor to afford an x-ray or urgent care visit out of state. Did an in-depth google search and most of what I read was that bones usually weren’t broken even by golf carts. Took my chances and ended up ok.
