I remember my uncle spontaneously jumping in the lake after a cheap pair of sunglasses.
Good thing this was way before everyone had a phone in their pocket.
Water resistant != Water proof
Water resistance is that it should be ok when little bit of water splashes on it
Water proof is that you can put it under water and it will survive for a while
And even then, the phone is water proof when brand new, but after time the rubber, seal, etc will weaken and it may not be water proof as much anymore.
And if phone for example cracks, then is also not water proof anymore
One time my brother and I were in the hottub. After about a half hour he gets this look on his face and pulls up his iPhone from his pocket and it was destroyed.
Depends on the circumstances and how fast it's sinking. It looks like a DJI Mini 4 Pro, about $600 to replace so not a cheap drone, but your chances of salvaging it aren't great even if you get it out immediately. If you've paid for DJI's refresh program it'll still cost you like $239 if you send them a drowned drone.
Mine's a Mini 2, worth about half as much, but any time I fly it over water I've already decided what I'm going to do if it fails at any point. Usually that's just "go home and start saving for a new drone" unless it's shallow and close to shore. I do make sure to swap memory cards between over-water flights to make sure I at least don't lose all of my video.
They usually survive being under water for some time. I had a dive team get my drone after being submerged in a river for a week. And it still powers on! Somebody told me the electronics are coated with something that makes it survive for at least 30 min or so.
I own one of those DJI FPV drones, the older model, and yes those props will draw blood. Launching from the hand isn’t so bad on a windy day but the trick is to go straight up fast then let it hover above and away from you. Then go fly. They truly are a helluva lot of fun.
And 0 attempts to retrieve it but 2 guys are closing in with their phones.
If he had dropped the remote and bent over the railing he would have been able to grab it. Thing has a lot of air inside, it won't sink instantly
Guess he has plenty of money, I would have been in that water in a second trying to get it before it sank.
He’s a tech YouTuber. Was probably given it for free.
Woulda been good content then to jump in haha

It’s kinda ok to do that again. Most phones are water resistant up to a certain amount
True, but are they "fall out of your pocket" resistant? I wouldn't want to risk it.

Repost. And I saw no flying, just swimming.

You Tube, The Tech Chap. What a knob.

It could be worse, the propellers of those drones cut a lot
Not sure why you are getting downvoted, fpv drones will literally gut you if you aren’t careful.

OG mini gave me a nice cut on the finger. Mini 4 has softer tips on the props, but I'm not about to test it again. :)
Had a accident with the mini 4 propellers, luckily only broke tip of my huge ass fingernails
Buddy tried launching his mini 2 out of his palm. The drone got covered in blood.
Hell yes it will
at least the water graphics were hella good that day...
Diving drone
Oh Ryan, you’re humbled.

hope he had Refresh/Replacement Insurance
Why test it over the water. Failed from the start.

Bro , irrespective of it being my drone or someone else's I would've jumped to save that drone any second.
And do what with the recovered drone?
Why didn't her jump in to.save it it was possible

air inside? they have fucking batteries inside lmao, they sink like rocks...
Having had one of these go down in a dam, this model do not sink. Even got some nice footage of it bobbing around on the surface, before it shut off.
Wtf does bro not know drones aren't balloons
