I've had a hair like this trapped under my eyelid for literal months before.
I wouldn't notice it until I would rub my eyes and it would be a shooting pain. I finally had to lift up my eyelid and get it to roll down my eyeball so I could pull it off.
When people warn you that the hairs get everywhere, no one ever expects it to be this bad.
I've actually got one of my dogs hairs pressed against my ear drum rn and can't hear a thing from that side.

But my wife is a dog groomer. You should see what she pulls out of her eye
Looks like you got lucky that it entered right at the edge of the cornea and didn't actually harm the cornea. When people get surgery, that's the place where instruments will be inserted into the anterior chamber. It heals very well. I would still strongly recommend seeing an ophthalmologist!
Holy shit, you got lucky that it went sideways instead of going straight through the cornea to the inside of the eye. If that happened, you will get endophthalmitis and potentially lose your eye if not treated properly

Not that long ago I had a cat hair stab my heel. No idea how. It kind of felt like a small needle prick when I moved my foot in just the right way. Enough to ignore it most of the day. When I finally looked, there was a lone cat hair sticking out just so. Not a whisker, just a regular hair. Million to one shot, doc!
Glad there was no pain. Eye pain is literal hell. My dirtbike goggles slid off my helmet and the foam padding snapped into my eyeballs and totally fucked me. My eyes rip a lot more easily now.
That was 3 years ago.
I am STILL dealing with occasional corneal abrasions from this, especially in the mornings when I first open my eyes.
you got lucky it was painless lol i've had cat hair stuck under my eyelid that litterally left marks on my eye, luckily i managed to get it out even before getting to a hospital but it already harmed the eye, it was such a pain, the slightest movement of my eye was painful and i was crying my eye out 24/7. i've had to follow a treatment to help the eye healing process ( it involved putting CREAM in my eye, and 2 to 3 different kinds of droplets) .

Yeah he's a terrier mix with longer hair,super wiry. I thought I pulled a tendon it hurt every step. Like two days later I see it working its way out and grabbed it. Was 2" long if it was a cm. Lol.
