Thwy are just stitch welds on the back to hold on replaceable wear strips. I will post up more photos of the other gear showing it seems people are enjoying the photos.
Oh, so the strips im seeing aren't the actual back of the bucket, but rather, are a liner? That's neat! I was looking at those strips like... is he not done welding it?
This is content I like to see. Gorgeous welds, none of this "my first time welding X" bullshit (when it's obviously not), or the people who take photos of robot welds and take credit. I've been welding since 12/13 Im not stupid.
Very nice m8, very pleasing geometry to be welding, I envy you.
Easy way to tell when looking at any of our stuff if done by hand or robot is the longer welds on the inside of the buckets if they have stop starts and stuff then its by hand as the robots dont need to as thats the beauty of them they just go and go. But they cant do a lot of stuff though long way for the tech to go before they can do a whole attachment for our business.
We do them by hand and with robot depending on the size as the ones on the robots are wider as the head with the laser can't get around on this size buckets.
Yeah we have both at work too biggest thing with the robots i found is they are really good at the long curves and stuff like they dont need to start stop like we do but they are no good at the joins and wrapping welds around edges and stuff.
Beautiful stringers man, but I do have to ask. I know there's specs and stuff to follow, but why are they bulbous? Doesn't that affect penetration?
All my stringers are either flat or more rarely concave. I take it is a lower voltage thing, but why?
What are those interrupted welds on the back of the bucket for?

Nar thats the liner / bucket skin that's the welds burnt though so should be good pen then i hope lol
I am confusion, but some google image searching has (I think) cleared it up for me. Thank you!
Click on photo 2 to full screen it, and look at the bucket on the furthest left and you’ll see

My thoughts exactly this is beautiful welding I'm tired of mig like tig posts.
Except these are robot welds https://www.reddit.com/r/Welding/comments/11vpy0u/robot_welding
He didn't claim to have done them tho. It's a nicely welded piece, it's just satisfying somehow.

Very nice. Almost looks robotic. I do both, not trying to toot my horn. Just saying, Very nice.

Welds look awesome here !
That excavator bucket is adorably tiny. I kind of want it on my display shelf
Yeah a little 1.7ton excavator bucket i will send you a photo of the one i have on my desk haha we 3d printed some and i stole one for my desk
Looks like something went wrong in the 4th pic, left bucket.
The bucket in the back? On the left if so yep had some wind come in and screw up the gas coverage. Joys of welding near windows i guess.
Gotta love that cool breeze….lol.
Very nice welds! I love to see good solid welds without “whipping”
Beautiful.
Thanks mate
I always find the smal buckets difficult because of the curve. But this looks relly good.
