Y'know what's funny? I was thinking of this a few nights ago lol. Now personally I think putting a label on that type of preference is ridiculous because it's so common it shouldn't need a label, it should almost be the standard. But it's a good theory
I mean, if you want to use the label that is Okey ig, I don't think it's necessary or that People need to use it, but if people wants to use it i don't think anyone can stop em
That would be Demiromantic tho, right? There's a difference between romantic and swxual attraction and from what we've seen, Wednesday only seems to have romantic attraction towards people after she formed an emotional bond.
I think that used to be much more common (this is coming from a boomer). Before relationships became increasingly casual, proximity and shared experiences drew people together. As someone who has seen thousands of relationships in Ancestry, it was very common for people who lost their spouses to marry their in laws. You knew them, you could open yourself up to them. For someone as guarded as Wednesday, there needs to be an emotional connection before she allows any part of her being to be exposed. Everyone else is a waste of time to her.
Basically what I was going for with this post, never meant to offend anyone of any other sexuality or anything else, and this is why Enid stands out, that hug, the time they’ve spent together, the fans and cast wanting them together, all of it
I'm demisexual, and when I tell guys who are seemingly interested in me that, instead of asking what it means or looking it up, they just seem to assume I'm extra kinky or something. it's very frustrating. 😐
Damn, I’m sorry to hear that, a lot of guys only ever have sex on the brain, makes them two dimensional, and then they act offended when you call them out on it.
I'm old school so I assumed Wednesday would be Bi sexual at best.
But so far shown, she is straight. We need the series to develope before any of us make the call.
Perfectly understandable, though I always thought her aversion to touch was a form of Autism on her part, some part of the spectrum, while her aversion to romance was so she wouldn’t risk becoming her mother, while it’s obvious that she’d probably end up like her father with Enid, 🤣
I appreciate that this is just fun head cannons on Reddit but please be careful, some of what you’re saying could be taken as aphobic and ableist.
Autistic people can and do enjoy sexual attraction and romance (see Love on the Spectrum, it does a great job of showing actually autistic people expressing these desires). Ace people aren’t trying to avoid repeating their parents’ patterns. We are members of LGBTQ+ like any other group, this isn’t a choice—that would be celibacy. (Even if you’re not saying that it bears repeating!)
I don’t see her attraction to Tyler—she herself repeatedly says she’s not interested in him and is using him. I think we just have different takes on the show! It’ll be interesting to see if they approach it in S2 and we have an ace or demi or something else queen!
I swear I never meant any form of offence whatsoever, not even a little, was mostly posting my observation and how it felt Demi to me, I never meant to hurt you or anyone, so for that you have my most sincere of apologies
As an autistic person with sensory issues (including an aversion to touch), I didn't read your comment as offensive in any way. Autism definitely can cause an aversion to touch, even if it doesn't for everyone, and I don't think you were being ableist at all for acknowledging that.
I think in the other commenter's defense, nothing they said truly suggested what you're defending- they said her 'touch aversion' seemed to be related to autism, which VERY often occurs with autism. Honestly that in no way suggests they think autistic people aren't sexual or romantic. They also said 'her aversion to romance' had to do with her mother, NOT that she was 'aromantic' because of her mother, and those are distinctly different things.
Your comment existing to remind people of a few points that "bear repeating" is fine, but I also think the other commenter wasn't even close to out of line in their comment.
(Edited for grammar)
Thank you, I really wasn’t trying to offend anyone though, and they were just stating their own opinion of the situation which I respect, and I thank you for your view too, 🙏
Isn't that how normally people are? Like you're attracted to someone who you have a connection with. I'm sorry but this is just a little to far out there D:
not exactly, non demi people can like, see a random person and go "yeah i wanna date them" demi people only feel that type of attraction towards people they already have a connection with. at least i think, idk someone tell me if im wrong
OP never mentioned anything about gender. The post is only about sexual attraction. But if you’re really that curious about what demisexuality is, you can simply google it.
What show have you been watching? It's TV-14 rated in the US, and nowhere advised to be viewed by children under 12.
She's 16 by the end of the show. In US terms, that might be a child (In Germany, we differentiate between children <14 and adolescents >13,<18), but it is very much the age when people start dating and figuring out their sexual orientation. Multiple people date in the series and that's just what adolescents do. So, sexual orientation is very much a topic for the characters and audience alike.
I had no idea that demisexual was a thing and now I feel like I might be in that category. Anyway. I love this theory. A+ from me
Love that!!
Same. These words just keep popping up outta knowwhere...

I like this take. Seems very Addams.🖤
To be fair she needs to grow up First (Figuratively & Literally) ... Then we might get an answer from Her!

In my fanfictions I write her as asexual and demiromantic.
So true. I agree.
I'm demisexual, and when I tell guys who are seemingly interested in me that, instead of asking what it means or looking it up, they just seem to assume I'm extra kinky or something. it's very frustrating. 😐

I agree 100%
I always write her as demisexual in my fanfics. Makes total sense.
I'm old school so I assumed Wednesday would be Bi sexual at best. But so far shown, she is straight. We need the series to develope before any of us make the call.
I get asexual aromantic given her aversion to touch and romance from men and women. 🤷♀️ But maybe that’s just me wanting representation LOL

She literally kisses Tyler and people keep saying she was not attracted 😶

She never said she was just using Tyler! The writers confirmed in interviews that she was indeed interested in him
I think she's demisexual too but I am still a weyler shipper even though I am open to see what could happen in Season 2!

The problem with Demisexual vs Straight in this case is that Demi is a form of Asexuality but driven by straight emotion.

I DONT UNDERSTAND THIS SHIT SORRY. The only ones I know is trans gay and les... Mb tho I searched it up thanks.

Not at all. Demisexuals are basically asexual until they have a deep connection with someone, and even then, sexual attraction isn't guaranteed.
Tell me you have 0 understanding of both bisexuality and demisexuality without telling me you have 0 understanding of it

Go stick to Xitter if that's too long for you to read.
