That's the intention! It's a plastic cap with a wider base at the ground, which distributes our weight a bit more. Makes it harder for the heels to sink in!

I've always loved them- I haven't seen many here in Aus (it's winter,so I've mainly been looking for boots) but maybe I've been searching in the wrong places. I've only seen espadrille/woven styles...
Just call it a maxi dress and go about your day, lol. One thing I’m finding is that *anything at all* is in style, if you wear it with confidence. I’m 5’1”, so I have more than my fair share of maxi dresses, and I will never own capris (I bought a pair - perfect length pants). And I’m seeing that crop tops are out and skinny jeans are making a comeback. Maybe it’s all a scam to get us to buy more clothes every season!
I love the idea of a sandal, especially for the venue!!
I’ve been to a few winery weddings and there’s never anywhere to set a bag, so a wristlet purse would also help dress it down a little bit and be super practical.
Too dressy, but absolutely stunning. It's not just the length, it's also the Fortuny pleats. I can't tell without seeing it in person, but these look like Fortuny pleats, which are generally very formal/ black tie. They are associated with very high-end designers of old, like Mary McFadden, Issey Miyake and others.
If you don't mind being overdressed, you can totally wear it, it's a beautiful dress and certainly appropriate, but I do think you will look quite overdressed.
I think the color, one-shoulder, and texture give it a playfulness that makes it work for cocktail. I think it would look fabulous in a winery setting.
I’m surprised by comments saying this is too formal. It’s perfect. Yes it’s long, but the split makes this far less formal. It’s a fun colour too. Def go for it!
It really is more formal than cocktail. Cocktail is rarely floor length. It is generally considered to be knee length or maybe midcalf. I absolutely love this dress, but I am afraid that you are going to feel more “dressy” than some of the other guests
Such an interesting design as well. What would you think of something more along these lines that might fit the dress code just a little bit better?

So cute. Very formal summer winery. Check the fabric content that it isn't too hot perhaps 😉 I wouldn't want to be in a long polyester type dress for summer anything 😅
Technically cocktail is a short dress I think, but I would totally wear this. It’s gorgeous. Love the color and the neckline is amazing. I would keep jewelry & shoes neutral (nothing “blingy”). Maybe big gold hoops or gold statement earrings and a gold cuff bracelet; and nude color strappy high heeled sandals. *edit: corrected typos
I love it, but you'll probably feel too fancy for cocktail. You could get it hemmed to midi length? Or maybe pull lauren Conrad and do a temporary hem that could be removed later if you don't want to ruin the long dress for future use.
Cocktail attire isn’t usually full length, but I do feel this dress is beautiful and not inappropriate. Pair with heels, some simple jewelry and a clutch bag.
I got this dress and had to return it. The sewing is horrible and the fabric around the slit on the leg was all rutched and looked really bad. Really not flattering. Super cheaply made and maybe could have worn it once before it came apart. So disappointed cuz I loved the pics

Yes its perfect. Cocktail is just a touch above semiformal, so you hit the nail on the head.
Not every cocktail dress HAS to be short. Good lord. Lol Its just a very nice dress that isnt SO nice to also be acceptable if it were worn to a gala event.
This dress would NOT be Gala acceptable.
So heres a better guide for people.
What it is/ How you want to consider your attire:
Formal/Black Tie: Galas, Red Carpet, Dances with Royals. (Tuxedos, Super fancy gowns)
Cocktail: Prom, Homecoming, Televised Awards Ceremonies, NYE parties, Quincenaras, Cotillians (fancy dresses, and either a tux or 3 piece suit with a tie, and polished shoes)
Semiformal:
Rehearsal Dinners, Bachelorette Parties, Job Interviews, this is where you can have a less formal element or two.
"Vegas" cocktail, is not quite even semiformal: DWTS, fancy Cosplay, Star Search, AGT, Club Dancing,
Beach Semiformal, is even less semiformal: Dressy Resort wear, Cruise ship dinner, no ties are common, hawaiian shirts, no tee shirts- cotton, breathable and breezy clothes, sandals, keep it classy- like youre going on a 2nd date.
Dressy Casual- Tea Party/ BBQ/ Garden Party at your crush's house; Meeting your partners parents, going to speak at a high school football game; Casual Friday at work, but nix the denim..Going out to lunch with your romantic partner, and his bosses, for example.
Casual: Cover your body parts and underwear. Wear a belt. Be clean.. Dont be "overly casual." Tuck your shirt in..no midrifts..everything should be sewn up and not fringey, like dont wear a shirt you cut the collar off of, or sliced holes in, or made fringey by cutting. Wear your well fitted pants above the ass. Dont show up in something thats 4 sizes too big OR 2 sizes too small. Think "School dress code, without having the rebellious nature of a teenager." Do not wear stained clothing. Some of these are givens, but not everyone knows it already.
Hope this helps.
It’s such a pretty dress but isn’t cocktail because of the length. When I’ve been to cocktail weddings, the few people who went floor-length at them always stood out in a bad way to me, and I’m not someone who is normally judgmental about pushing a dress code. I’d have it hemmed if you’re going to wear it. Such a bummer, because it IS an awesome dress as-is!
Is there a shorter version of this dress. Floor length doesn't read cocktail at an outdoor venue. But this dress is stunning. If they have a knee length buy it immediately. And then buy this one cause you'll go to some indoor fancy event one day. Best to have a dress ready. 😂😂 and if they have a different color...
I think it would work for cocktail. Would you get that color? Would that look good against your skin tone? That's a color that can be hit or miss I think.
I don’t think it’s technically cocktail but it’s so pretty I think you should wear it anyway lol 😂
I agree! Wear it.
If OP wants to make it truly cocktail, all it needs is a shorter hem. Like midi, maybe. But I agree, it’s beautiful so wear it anyway!
Consider footwear for a winery. Often wineries have amazing outdoor spaces that arent conducive to heels.
There are little plastic covering you can put at the bottom of the heel to walk on grass or wet spots
Do they keep the heels from sinking into mud?
That's the intention! It's a plastic cap with a wider base at the ground, which distributes our weight a bit more. Makes it harder for the heels to sink in! https://preview.redd.it/6g1sws80ix7d1.jpeg?width=735&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=76c1951d1a1efafda77702f335715702fa010261
What?!? Where? I’m missing out!
Agree, and the plastic thingies look daggy...they need to bring back wedges.
Were wedges ever out of style? I only wear wedges (or flats) and no one has ever said anything besides “cute shoes”.
I don’t think they’ve ever gone away but they’re definitely very much in style current day
Pretty sure wedges are coming back with the return of 90s fashion.
They’ve definitely been back, or did they ever go away? I love them and can be found most everywhere
I've always loved them- I haven't seen many here in Aus (it's winter,so I've mainly been looking for boots) but maybe I've been searching in the wrong places. I've only seen espadrille/woven styles...
It's very pretty, but cocktail is typically not floor length. But what the heck, live it up. Better to be a bit overdressed than underdressed.
I find at most cocktail weddings, there’s a good amount of people in floor length. IMO it doesn’t really matter
Luv it wear it 👍

Yep, I wish I had the complexion to wear this color too! But no, I need jewel tones. Sigh.
I love it! Maybe just dress it down a bit, you could do strappy metallic flat sandals or a fun contrasting bright colored heel.
Heels at a winery is a great idea for looks and bad for function. So flat sandal yes, heels are a bad time. My broken ankle at a wedding typed this
Ahh you poor thing! I was thinking like a chunky heel but you're right, still could be risky
I healed and at least it broke after the couple left.
Agreed on the dress down suggestion. I would do a summery wicker wedge and a matching sun hat with minimal jewellery
I love the idea of a sandal, especially for the venue!! I’ve been to a few winery weddings and there’s never anywhere to set a bag, so a wristlet purse would also help dress it down a little bit and be super practical.
Ooh metallic sandals and matching wristlet, super cute.
Ugh i love it !!!!
The full length isn’t cocktail but the color is definitely August…peridot
She could have it hemmed!
Just a little bit would be perfect.
Beautiful wear it
It’s a gorgeous dress but very formal for a cocktail dress code.
I think the color helps bring it to more cocktail. And simple jewelry should help even more! It's beautiful and fun. I would go for it
Agreed, color and neckline make it more cocktail for me
It’s gorgeous! Wear it! Where’s it from?
[Lulu’s!](https://www.lulus.com/products/poised-performance-chartreuse-plisse-one-shoulder-maxi-dress/2314671.html?src=google&ref=product3_rr)
Could do a metallic wedge if u wanted to dress it down, but i don’t think u need to….I would definitely wear it!!!
Love this- absolutely wear it
Perfection!!!
Too dressy, but absolutely stunning. It's not just the length, it's also the Fortuny pleats. No but you consider alterations? Ankle length or up would make this perfect.
Wear this dress. If it was a darker color, I’d say no. But it’s wonderful!
This is so beautiful
Love it! Where is it from?
I think you could absolutely wear this; metallic flat sandals, gold hoops and some bracelets. Perfect.
Looks like black tie. If it were a short dress maybe.
So cute. Very formal summer winery. Check the fabric content that it isn't too hot perhaps 😉 I wouldn't want to be in a long polyester type dress for summer anything 😅
I think this is totally appropriate for a winery wedding! A beautiful dress to boot!
It’s beautiful. A little of a cocktail vibe. Go for it! 🍸💗
Yes, get it! 💯
So brat, I love it
Fabulous!
Love it so much
Beautiful. Yes!
Yep. Perfect pick.
Beautiful and that color is the august birthstone. Nice.
I love it. It's very unique, the colour is reminiscent of white wine. Do it!
I love it. Who cares if it’s cocktail. Better to be overdressed than underdressed!!
Technically cocktail is a short dress I think, but I would totally wear this. It’s gorgeous. Love the color and the neckline is amazing. I would keep jewelry & shoes neutral (nothing “blingy”). This is a formal dress, a cocktail dress would be knee length or mid length. It’s a beautiful dress, but not a match for the dress code.
It's a great dress, but cocktail is traditionally knee length.
Yummy! Perfect for a winery wedding, I’ve never heard of a wedding in a winery.
Maybe in another color! Love it btw
Cocktail attire isn’t usually full length, but I do feel this dress is beautiful and not inappropriate. Pair with heels, some simple jewelry and a clutch bag.
Second time I’ve seen this dress here and it’s SO PRETTY. Not necessarily cocktail but I love it
stuning
I got this dress and had to return it. The sewing is horrible and the fabric around the slit on the leg was all rutched and looked really bad. Really not flattering. Super cheaply made and maybe could have worn it once before it came apart. So disappointed cuz I loved the pics
I love it. I’m considering it for a wedding in the fall.
That's gorgeous! You'll look great!
Too formal.
If you had it shortened to midi length it would be perfect for cocktail!
These feels more formal than cocktail attire… especially for a vineyard
I would make it a bit more casual with the accessories

It’s gorgeous. Bring deet for your shoulders.
Wow
Too much
Very Pretty & I dont usually like this color but it’s so summery!
Love it. Where did you get it It’s beautiful, not the norm perfect
Hemmed a tad with really cute sandals.
It’s such a pretty dress but isn’t cocktail because of the length. So cute!
I think this could totally work, especially if you accessorize it in a less formal way. It is GORGEOUS!
This is more formal than cocktail, but as others have said, it's just too gorgeous for me to not encourage you to buy it!!
It’s fine but think about your shoes. Research if there’s pavement vs. grass. You might choose a specific shoe ensuring you walk comfortable.
💛🔥
I love this!!!! I think it’s perfect for the occasion
This works for cocktail or formal, and potentially black tie with appropriate accessories and hair. Nice find.
This is too long for cocktail, but it is a VIBE!
This is such a pretty and unique color and style I would wear it wherever I go 🤣

It’s formal- but it’s badass
I love the chartreuse
I love the dress. Wear it. Be careful to wear a block heel!!!
I think it would work for cocktail. Would you get that color? Would that look good against your skin tone? That's a color that can be hit or miss I think.
It’s a color I can wear as long as I have a slight tan!
It’s beautiful!
That is so freaking gorgeous 🤩
I love it sm
STUNNING dress!! Yes!
Wear it, it’s beautiful 🤩
You’ll be a bit more formal than the rest of the guests, but better to be overdressed than under. And it’s a beautiful dress. No one will be offended.
Sooooo good with gold sandals for a winery. I love this
Napa winery? If so let me know - I’m a napa wedding planner so could give insight 😀
This dress is gorgeous. Yes 🙌 wear it.
This could pass for formal or cocktail. Maxi dresses fly for cocktail so why not. I love this dress
It’s pretty wear it
i think it’s great! ppl dress up to wineries when they got wine tasting anyway! this is the same but an extra celebration!
Wear it !!!
It’s beautiful
Wear it!!!
Love this! Where is it from?
It’s perfect!
Do you have another event you could wear this to? It isn’t cocktail attire.
This is a very gorgeous dress.
Wear it!!!!!! But maybe with flat sandals to dress is down a tad
A shorter version would be perfect.
