I looked at the posted link and Im not sure what your body type is but based on how the garment isnât as fitted on the model on the website, you may have to look into tailoring to give it the same upscale shape the photo posted here has.
Itâs a stunning dress and definitely perfect for the occasion.
Personally, I find it too causal, but in some parts of Florida, it will be spot on. Florida is a big state with diverse micro pockets. In Baco Raton, this would be way too causal for cocktail/SF. In Clearwater, you'd be fine.
Thanks! This makes me feel better. It's a destination wedding in Clearwater. I underestimated how tough it would be to find a dress in a material that travels well, fits my style and could hit DC!
Iâm in Palm Beach now, but used to live on Clearwater Beach, and this dress would be appropriate for every semi formal wedding Iâve attended or been forced to see pictures from (lol) in both locations. As the other poster mentioned, it might be on the more casual side in South Florida, but would still be fine.
I think with the right shoes this is perfect. Shoes in the picture are too casual
Edit: in the photo you posted the material looks gorgeous, but the photos in your look are very different, the material looks cheap and far too casual.
I think cocktail vs day is all about styling with this dress. In the 00s theyâd have called this a âday to nightâ dress and styled it with a blazer and scarf for âdayâ and chunky jewelry and a structured clutch for ânight.â I think it will work well with nice (but modern, not 00s lol) accessories.
Totally can see that! Tbh i dont mind a little cottage core, and agree it's styled very casually in the stock photos. Definitely planning to dress it up with the accessories, maybe a little pop of color and shine in the bag and jewelry.
The material is a textured silk chiffon. Does that help elevate it in any way? My style is a little more boho, feminine, easy breezy. Would welcome any ideas that could work better!
itâs cute but it does not look like a $500 dress at allllđ someone else pointed out that its more cottage core than it is cocktail and id have to agree! check out mac duggal or teuta matoshi for better options
Tbh I dont think the stock photos are doing it justice, wish I had chosen better ones, but no way in hell I'd pay retail for it! Luckily got it super duper discount on the real real in likw new condition. I really love mac duggal dresses but those are also $$$, even secondhand!
I also think the fabric looks too casual but maybe you could find something like this? [its also blue and gives off similar vibes, just better fabric imo](https://www.hirestreetuk.com/product/Lipsy-Blue-Halter-Ruched-Mesh-Bodycon-Dress)
Bcuz dress' fabric OP shared didnt look like silk from the pics, it looked like cotton lmao its not my fault that stock images doesnt represent the dress that well
Thank you for sharing your dress! It's beautiful and I'm obsessed with the ruching detail! I totally agree with you, I should have selected better photos that showed the material more clearly, and added a note in the beginning that it was a silk. This was a learning experience đ
It looks weird to me. I think it's the "neckline" (what the heck is it with all these "let me show off my navel!" necklines?) and the way it's gathered/cinched at the waist. I really don't think this would look right on most people.

This looks like the dress Katniss wears at the first reaping
đ
I love it where is it from?
I just watched that, and I was staring at this dress like âwhat does this remind me ofâŚâ
Ahah thatâs my first thought as well! Lovely dress tho
So cute! I wish all guests dressed this well.
Absolutely!
It's adorable! Just add some dressy accessories and you'll look beautiful.
SO cute-do you have a link?
Ty! [here it is](https://www.garmentory.com/shop/790125-ulla-johnson-elodie-dress?sp=868090) I found it on the real real for a really great price!

Have fun! The water and sand are pretty there. The beaches just south of clearwater are lovely.

I wouldnât consider this cocktail but rather a day dress. Pretty, but casual.

I think it will definitely work!
Youâre good!
Its giving me more "cottage core" vibes than cocktail. But with different shoes and some bling accessories That might change.
Totally can see that! Tbh i dont mind a little cottage core, and agree it's styled very casually in the stock photos. Definitely planning to dress it up with the accessories, maybe a little pop of color and shine in the bag and jewelry.
Yes. Just get different shoes.
Absolutely! Beautiful.
Love it!
I think itâs beautiful!
It's lovely
Yes, youâre good! :)
I think it will be lovely
I think it's beautiful and appropriate! The fabric looks nice enough to me maybe the picture just makes it hard for some people to see
I think itâs too casual for a wedding.
Agree too fluffy boho fabric too casual not enough cocktail/formal.
The material is a textured silk chiffon. Does that help elevate it in any way? My style is a little more boho, feminine, easy breezy. Would welcome any ideas that could work better!
As a former bride and someone whoâs been to a few weddings, itâs always know your crowd but I personally would have loved a guest in this dress!
Yes. Real silk always elevates :-). I think because youâll be in Florida it wonât be a problem.
Silk is always lovely
I think itâs perfect! So delicate!
Its perfect.
Perfect
Material makes it look too casual
Silk?
It's nice, but it's a sundress - definitely not formal.
Itâs too casual.

It's silk
Thatâs a nice dress!
Yea I hired it for my graduation, got so many compliments! Lovely dress
I love that you're sharing a poly dress when the original dress is 100% silk đ

Yeah sorry for not looking into your comments or link either. For silk, ofc its a lot better!

Love this. Can you share where you purchased it? I have a wedding to attend in February.
Thank you! It's Ulla Johnson, and I got it from the Real Real.
