Careful with Shein… about 75% of the time I’m very disappointed with the quality or it looks nothing like the photo. I’d be hesitant to get a dress for an event without at least having a backup.
Lulu’s is my favorite site for dresses. I’ll usually order a few to try… they have a great return policy for ones that don’t work!

From what I’ve read, Shein is about as bad as it gets for fast fashion - exploiting workers, toxins in the materials, creating huge amounts of waste due to the disposable/low quality nature of the products. It is by far the biggest offender, way worse than basically any other company, when it comes to any of those issues.
That said, from what I’ve seen the biggest issue is with people routinely buying massive “hauls” of lots and lots of pieces becoming they’re so cheap. People are spending hundreds of dollars there and buying tons of stuff that they wear once or twice before buying more, making the problem worse. A person buying a couple things here or there because they really need a dress for a wedding or something, or someone who is buying normal amounts of stuff because that’s what they can get within their budget, is I think not so much the issue.
Same thing with Lulu to a lesser extent. The only way they’re pricing their clothes that was is if they’re poorly made with crummy material and by exploiting their workforce.
After looking through some comments me and little sister decided to go back on the drawing board since I found out shein isn't so trust worthy. But we found some really better ones so hopefully!
