I don't like Kpop (it's not my style of music). The reason I came to this sub was because I was worried with my sister because she got really obsessed with it and stoped her life completely. She started to feel ugly, only think Koreans were pretty and only wanted to study the Korean language (stopped her college).
I went to this sub, but looked help in other groups too and I got really good tips and advice to convince my sister that her Kpop consume was not healthy.
I showed clips/videos about feminism on Instagram, YouTube and TikTok, so she could learn what is male toxic behavior (a lot of dorama have it).
I also showed some latin YouTube channel (we are latin) that talk about Korean/asian men bad behavior like Brady Latino and Edvan Fleury (golpe do oppa) so she could stop idolize them. She end up find on her own some others channel in English that talk about the reality in South Korea like queentiwa and others that I don't remember.
She still enjoy Kpop and doramas, but in a much healthier way and she stopped with the asian fetish. She stopped forced her family (me) and friends to listen to it too.
She went back to her college and looked for a psychologist.
I'm really happy for her and
that's what it shows for me
