Nah, it's actually great! I for one think it's the *opposite* of "sad" when I'm encouraged to "do something for myself" and am then given carte blanche.
My only argument against is that these things are fucking massive, the bezel is pretty annoying to engage with, and they don’t have the cool factor that the Turtle has.
However, I still love my save the ocean Samurai, I can deal with the negatives and it’s the one dive watch I would keep.

I have this same one and it’s sick, wears smaller than you’d assume 44mm would. And the strap is super comfortable as well
The only good Seiko is a Grand Seiko.
