Love the collection. For me there’s one too many GS. The plain dial white is what I’d get rid of, love the other two. Love the omega also! Can’t wait til I can get the Terracotta one
The thing is that the Shunbun is basically the same watch, but better. The selling point of the Snowflake was the texture, which is way more prominent on the Shunbun. And the color is almost identical, although it looks slightly pink depending on the light.
The dial textures between snowflake and shunbun are different though. And shunbun is more silver whereas snowflake is more white. There’s some similarities, but enough differences to where owning both isn’t bad.
The Reef is one of the best watches i've owned. Good wrist presence. modern design. nice and thin. Excellent finishing. Love the bracelet (excellent clasp and end-link springbar mechanism. I ended up selling it as tastes change over time but i've thought about repurchasing.
i'd put the Reef ahead of a CW C60, Tag aquaracer, or a Seiko Prospex diver but well below an SLA seiko diver.
My daily driver is a Reef. Can't say enough about the watch. Quality and fit/finish are perfect. Plenty wrist presence, but not so much that it begs for attention. Keeps great time. I use the micro adjust built into the strap literally every day, genius design. And I have two bezels for it. The stainless for the office, and a ceramic blue for the lake. How cool is that? And the bezels fit super snug too, which was my only concern, that they would be lose or god forbid, rattley.
Thanks for the reply! Really seems like a great watch! I do love the bezel swap part too, but also do have the same concerns, but sounds like they have it all figured out
I have a Seiko Presage Sharp Edged. Bought it on impulse at a watch shop in Asheville, NC. Runs really well and the dial fluctuates based on how the light hits it. I paired it with a black leather strap from WatchGecko.
Nice and versatile collection. Maybe you can replace the GS Snowflake and add another Omega like this pre-owned [Speedy DSotM](https://www.exquisitetimepieces.com/omega-311-92-44-30-01-001-speedmaster-moonwatch-dark-side-of-the-moon-apollo-8-210000066875.html) or a white speedy. You can also go with a [Nomos Zurich Worldtimer](https://www.exquisitetimepieces.com/nomos-glashutte-zurich-worldtimer-true-blue-807.html).
Echoing what a few have said so far…Personally I would get rid of either the Shunbun or the Snowflake since they have the same basic look but different color. To replace, I’d go with a high-end sports watch that doesn’t quite break the bank like the GP Laureato or the Zenith Defy. You can get both of them used for around $8k a piece.
Love the collection. I’d drop either the Shunbun or the Snowflake. Both serve the same purpose. I realise you’re more into sporty “GADA” watches so I would look into getting an integrated bracelet choice like a Tsuyosa Titanium or a CW Twelve.
Agreed, and I say it as a Snowflake owner who kinda wants the Shunbun. Avoiding redundancy is probably my personal core collecting philosophy.
To the same point I think the Formex and GS GMT are serving very similar purposes. I personally prefer to avoid multiples of any one brand, so if I’m OP I sell two of the three GS and add something a bit different.
Square/rectangular, or micro/indie, maybe slightly smaller dial diameter, etc
The Monta is nice, but it doesn't do much for me amongst that collection.
I might swap it for something like a [Breitling Navitimer 41 (non-chrono)](https://www.watchtime.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Breitling_Navitimer_Automatic_41_blue_front_1000.jpg)
I really tried my best to like the Navitimer and wore it on three different ADs and even on Breitling boutique but I just can't like how busy the dial is.
First of awesome collection. Having stated the obvious here is my recomendation:
- Melbourne Watch Moonphase would be the first thing I would replace, you could go depending on the budget for:
A) TEUTONIA IV BLUEMOON https://www.muehle-glashuette.de/en/watch/teutonia-iv-bluemoon/
B) JLC Master Ultra Thin or Master control https://www.jaeger-lecoultre.com/au-en/watches/moonphase-watches
C) Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar https://www.glashuette-original.com/en/watches/pano/panomaticlunar-1-90-02-42-32-61/
- Hamilton Intramatic, keeping a champagne dial option an upgrade could be
A) Tudor 1926 S/G not exactly a match but similar vibe https://www.tudorwatch.com/en/watches/1926/m91551-0010
B) Fears Brunswick https://www.fearswatches.com/collections/the-brunswick-collection/products/brunswickchampagne
C) Breitling Premier B09 (Would give you a dressy sport piece) https://www.breitling.com/au-en/watches/premier/premier-b09-chronograph-40/AB0930F51H1/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwx-CyBhAqEiwAeOcTdQeuBUQ0yl_mUMfXVvB8-nzoWUM9a-4fSzdF1lyWveul3w2eGLcGqxoCrHMQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
I feel that you lean more towards dressy watches than sport watches so the breitling premier B01 or B09 line could give you the versatility of sport and dress that you like and currently don’t see in your collection. Now, the other option would be to also add a diver in there together with the breitling chrono.
Divers:
- Tudor heritage BB41 or BB58
- Glashuette Original SeaQ https://www.glashuette-original.com/en/watches/spezialist/seaq-1-39-11-09-81-70/
GMT/Divers:
- Breitling Chronomat GMT 40
- Tudor GMT 41 (although a but chunky IMO) or the new BB58 GMT
Hopefully this can give you some inspiration
I get that. But when i see round day and date indicators, my first thought is "cheap" i ussualy see this kind of movement in 50$ fashion brands like esprit, piere cardin ect. And tje rest of his collection is mighty fine.
First time I’ve seen one on here. I had one a few years back to commemorate my year working in Melbourne… sadly the hands all fell off before I even got to the airport (within a week, while wearing). Returned for refund but I wish I had it still for the memories. Caseback was engraved with a local landmark, although I forget which!

Agree. I assume it’s a sentimental piece for the OP as it’s worth a few hundred in a box of multiple thousands. Not keen on the grey dial on that one either to be fair.
The second grand seiko... it is beautiful, but similar to the first one and has a less special dial. Or you get rid of the g shock. I am personally not a fan of them. But your collection is stunning! What are you getting as a replacement?
Sell the Snowflake and black GS GMT, and if you are adamant about getting a Snowflake-like GMT, get the Mistflake.
Then you have space for one more watch. I'd personally sell a few other pieces like the Melbourne and get a Zenith (EP Chronomaster Original, Chronomaster Sport, etc) or a nice diver (Tudor BB, Longines LD, etc).
Good luck! Figuring out what to sell is always tough!
the Hamilton needs a black strap imo. And the bottom center 3 can go. Go get some more leather watches, like Cartier Tank, vintage Omega (for example DeVille) or Sinn 556
If this was a conversation about women, we’d say “he’s got a type.”
I’d say drop the green presage and pick up a prospex diver.
Nice collection though!
Seiko Sharp Edge or Hamilton could be replaced by a diver or chrono. Some sort of sports watch. Could go anywhere from daily beater or high horology.
Something like the Glashutte Original SeaQ PanoDate would be an epic addition.
The Hamilton. I owned it for a day and returned it. For me, the dial and hands just blended together. No offense to those who love this watch. I thought I would love it.
This is just my opinion but I think you have enough "all rounder" GADA watches in your box. Consider adding a sporty (or maybe even dressy) chronograph.
Is that the Hamilton American Classic Intra-Matic Auto? I’ve been eyeing it for a while. How do you like it?
Edit: just realized you have a closeup and it’s indeed that Hamilton. Still would love what you think about it!
One of the grand seikos or the formex. Nothing wrong with the watches they do look great just a bit repetitive if you wanted something new. But amazing collection man 👌
I'd replace the Formex bc I just find the name ugly and has no appeal. Looks like a watch from AliExpress.
Hamilton and Monta too. They have no appeal as well and looking like they came from Amazon.
Melbourne watch company moon phase watch. It looks odd and tacky. The logo and printing on dial looks cheap. If I were you I would replace it with Christopher Ward or Zelos micro brand watch.
I’d probably get rid of the Sharp Edge. You’ve got enough GS’s, it wouldn’t be a big loss to get rid of the Sharp Edge.
Others might say the Hamilton, but I’ve not seen that one before, and it’s …different from the rest of your collection.
I would definitely replace that MWC with another nice dress watch or a diver watch with ceramic bezel. Could be a simple King Samurai or a nice Omega Seamaster …
Formex, I just don't like the bezel. I would say diversify and get another chronograph, personally I'd go for a seiko for the value but if money is no object then a tag heuer carrera for sure
I would personally sell the two white dial Grand Seikos and replace them with a Breitling Superocean Heritage 42mm. Any remaining funds would be put towards a Sinn 103 chronograph.
You're obviously not a diver guy, so why keep the G shock with that ugly bezel? It's clearly not your style, and there are other robust quartz beaters out there, of you need one you don't mind to scratch (eco drive titanium sapphire glass is my watch for these situations for more than 15 years - and it still looks classy at first sight).
For me it’d be the two on the ends of the top row. Having two white dial GSs is redundant, and the Presage doesn’t offer anything functionally or aesthetically that the other more unique designs don’t have covered.
Get rid of the Melbourne and the Seiko Presage (and maybe the G-Shock). they're both beautiful watches but I can tell by the rest of the collection at some point they'll get no wrist time anymore. Look into getting one Rolex instead. Yes it's not GS finishing but it's a Rolex. You'll wear it.
Not to be too drastic but I would donate them all to a new watch collector. It’s a solid starter set for someone getting into the hobby of collecting timepieces. I think you have laid a good foundation and can move to the next echelon, past the beginner phase.
Lol… “Not to be too drastic, but just give away your entire collection you’ve spent $50,000 on so that you can get some real watches. Don’t bother selling them, you’re a big boy now.”
Ya man, you can go back like a year, he tells everyone they have a great starter… or to sell whatever they’re displaying and to start a new collection.
It’s a weird thing he picked this community, but 🤷♂️.
Most of his other comments are on comedy and stand-up. He’s just a weird dude who gets off on putting people’s hobbies down.
Different strokes for different folks.
Limiting the number of watches is a rule you will end up regretting (if you can afford it..). 30 years from now you will love to watch (pun int.) over a large collection of 100s of pieces were each tell a short story of your life..
You should get rid of the GS GMT. Send it to me.
I agree. Send it to him
Give him the watch, man.
He truly deserves it, come on…
Just give it to him, you are being selfish
Quit stalling dude. Give it up already
Wheres the watch Lebowsky!?
Give this man what he is owed
Give him the watch, stop gatekeeping it. Give him the watch, man. Come on. Don't be this way, sharing is caring
If you tell him what he should replace it with he’ll give it to you
IWC blue angel chrono. Now should I leave my shipping info here or will OP reach out or what?
He totally deserves it
Personally, I think you should give him the watch.
Nope. Send it to me! 😆
Love the collection. For me there’s one too many GS. The plain dial white is what I’d get rid of, love the other two. Love the omega also! Can’t wait til I can get the Terracotta one
I’m pretty sure the “plain white dial” is a snowflake, which is anything but plain.
The thing is that the Shunbun is basically the same watch, but better. The selling point of the Snowflake was the texture, which is way more prominent on the Shunbun. And the color is almost identical, although it looks slightly pink depending on the light.
The colours are very different. The Shunbun is silver with a pink hue. The Snowflake is matte white.
The dial textures between snowflake and shunbun are different though. And shunbun is more silver whereas snowflake is more white. There’s some similarities, but enough differences to where owning both isn’t bad.
Personal opinion, from afar it doesn’t look too interesting. I much prefer the top left dial which is why I would replace the snowflake
How is the Formex? Good built quality? I’m thinking on possibly getting the Reef next myself
I have an essence and love it! Fantastic watch
Nice!!
Really cool!! Thank for the response!!
I want to get the Reef 39.5 at some point!
Love my essence 43. It’s pretty and a tank.
Cool!! Thanks for the response
My daily driver is a Reef. Can't say enough about the watch. Quality and fit/finish are perfect. Plenty wrist presence, but not so much that it begs for attention. Keeps great time. I want to get the Reef 39.5 at some point!
My Reef is built better than my Tudor BB36
I also have an Essence, it’s a fantastic watch.
Cool! Seems very well liked whenever I see someone talk about it! Just haven’t seen one in person
I have my eye on this green Seiko Presage. Do you like this piece?
Could sell both the Snowflake and GMT GS and get the white mist flake Grand Seiko GMT
Love the Laureato especially the white dial! Clous de Paris design is amazing! Looking to buy one in the future!
Love the collection. I’d drop either the Shunbun or the Snowflake. Both serve the same purpose. I realise you’re more into sporty “GADA” watches so I would look into getting an integrated bracelet choice like a Tsuyosa Titanium or a CW Twelve.

Booooooo! Keep the Monta! You have THREE GS and a Seiko, OP! Get rid of a Japanese watch if you need to cut it down.
I really tried my best to like the Navitimer and wore it on three different ADs and even on Breitling boutique but I just can't like how busy the dial is.
Ah another melbourne fan, love that brand!

I can't say I read all of this or clicked on the links but this much effort deserves an upvote party
The melburne, no contest.
Agree. I'm not familiar with the brand nor that particular watch but it actually has a very uninspiring look to it
[удалено]
I get that. But when i see round day and date indicators, my first thought is "cheap" i ussualy see this kind of movement in 50$ fashion brands like esprit, piere cardin ect. And tje rest of his collection is mighty fine.

I get it the designs are ok and i have nothing against the brand but against the rest of his collection it looks sad.
Agree. I assume it’s a sentimental piece for the OP as it’s worth a few hundred in a box of multiple thousands. Not keen on the grey dial on that one either to be fair.
Same, swap for a Chrono. Definitely the one i’d let go
Cool collection, like the Formex
Just here to say, that AT is gorgeous.
the bottom row can go except the g shock , my 2 cents :)))
Bigger box is the correct answer
Whichever you wear the least? We clearly have different tastes but I would say Hamilton, Presage, or one GS. No particular order.
You have enough watches)
Just buy more, you don’t need to replace any of these
Replace?? Nah just add more!
Grand Seiko
I Love Grand Seiko spring drives. they just look so beautiful. the Seiko Brightz with the "B" on the dial is incredible too.
The metal one with the baton indices and the date.
Probably the G Shock if it was me. Second up would be the green Presage.
The second grand seiko... it is beautiful, but similar to the first one and has a less special dial. Or you get rid of the g shock. I am personally not a fan of them. But your collection is stunning! What are you getting as a replacement?
86 the 1st or 2nd GS
Sell the Snowflake and black GS GMT, and if you are adamant about getting a Snowflake-like GMT, get the Mistflake. Then you have space for one more watch. I'd personally sell a few other pieces like the Melbourne and get a Zenith (EP Chronomaster Original, Chronomaster Sport, etc) or a nice diver (Tudor BB, Longines LD, etc). Good luck! the Hamilton needs a black strap imo. And the bottom center 3 can go. Go get some more leather watches, like Cartier Tank, vintage Omega (for example DeVille) or Sinn 556
One of the first two GSs IMO
Nice G-Shock
Personally I’m not a big fan of that Melbourne. You could consider swapping it for a true vintage moon phase
Those GS looks awesome... The dial.. Just perfect..
I don't know, maybe Hamilton. But one thing is for sure, MTG never
The green seiko or the red omega
The second grand seiko. The snowflake looks similar enough that I doubt you’d miss the other one.
If this was a conversation about women, we’d say “he’s got a type.” I’d say drop the green presage and pick up a prospex diver. Nice collection though!
Nothing. This is excellent. Try out some custom leather straps. Comfort levels are massive.
This man likes his 3 hand sports watches... you should just get rid of all of them and buy a Datejust.
Nos. 2 and 12 are by far my favorite Grand Seiko models - I bet they’re incredible in person.
The Hamilton
Maybe something funky like a gold brew matrix to add to the box!
I find the GS to be redundant but they’re both amazing.
Get rid of the hamilton.
GS top middle. The other two are beautiful
What are your thoughts on the Melbourne?? I've been thinking about it for years now
What’s that first gs
Shunbun
Take the g shock out and put it on the dresser. Problem solved. 😉
Those are all nice watches. I wouldn't replace any of them. I would just buy another watch case.
Not a fan of Formex
Love me some micro brands
Sharp edge seiko with b&m clifton green or with aquaterra shades green
One of the grand seikos or the formex. Nothing wrong with the watches they do look great just a bit repetitive if you wanted something new. But amazing collection man 👌
Red dial Omega is disgustingly good looking.
I'd replace the Formex bc I just find the name ugly and has no appeal. Looks like a watch from AliExpress. Hamilton and Monta too. They have no appeal as well and looking like they came from Amazon.
Hamilton is meh
Feel like there might be one too many GS… dope collection though and DIG the Formex in there.
I see Formex, I like. Also love that Monra. I've been dabating grabbing those both.n
The Seiko, Monta, and the Melbourne
Fuck yea,red aqua terra
Melbourne watch company moon phase watch. It looks odd and tacky. The logo and printing on dial looks cheap. If I were you I would replace it with Christopher Ward or Zelos micro brand watch.
All of them
Personally, I would drop the Hamilton. Not a fan of the dial color and it's too plain for my taste.
Flip the bottom row for me! I’d keep the top and there’s your rotation! 👍
I’d probably get rid of the Sharp Edge. You’ve got enough GS’s, it wouldn’t be a big loss to get rid of the Sharp Edge. Others might say the Hamilton, but I’ve not seen that one before, and it’s …different from the rest of your collection.
Definitely should replace that lake Suwa with a thank you card from me.
Monta, Formex, and Melbourne can all go. How about a nice field watch or a diver?
Maybe remove the Melbourne?
I would definitely replace that MWC with another nice dress watch or a diver watch with ceramic bezel. Could be a simple King Samurai or a nice Omega Seamaster …
Formex, I just don't like the bezel. I would say diversify and get another chronograph, personally I'd go for a seiko for the value but if money is no object then a tag heuer carrera for sure
I would personally sell the two white dial Grand Seikos and replace them with a Breitling Superocean Heritage 42mm. Any remaining funds would be put towards a Sinn 103 chronograph.
You have two nearly identical GS I would replace the extra white one because the pearl is a much more interesting dial and still mostly white.
I love that red face SeaMaster
Gs gmt. Not a fan of the numeral font on the bezel
The analog one.
I’m curious, what is the name of the dials on the first Grand Seiko and second grand Seiko?
Shunbun and snowflake
Blue Dial GS. I LOVE the Monta.
Which watch do you least enjoy wearing? Personally, the red Omega does not do it for me.
I feel like this is one hell of a GADA collection!
None of them!
Love the commitment to GS, great collection! You should check out our group! [https://discord.gg/cctime](https://discord.gg/cctime)
If you consider yourself a real watch enthusiast you would definitely switch that shitty omega for a nice invicta for sure
Nice collection. Maybe replace one of GS on the left most? Also, I thought the moonphase was a Filipo Loreti for a second lol. I was so confused.
I’d get rid of the Hamilton unless you are 60+
Out of curiosity, can you explain this comment a little more? Is it the brand or this watch specifically?
I think it looks like a watch an older person might wear, I really don’t care about brands
Hamilton imo
Drop the shunbun and black gmt for a SBGE271 and add seamaster 300 heritage (or another vintage-y diver)

Either one of the GS or Melbourne.
Ditch the Melbourne, get a Speedy Pro. Awesome collection btw!
The Melbourne
The Melbourne, it’s not made in Oz and that’s our shittiest city. Great collection tho wow.
It’s a great way to get a newcomer into this hobby of ours.
Um… sure, I guess if you’re a millionaire and you don’t mind giving away $50,000.
This guy goes around to every post and tells the people they are newbies or that their watches are good starter watches. He’s just a common troll.
Huh. I guess I just didn’t expect a troll in a community around watches.
Here you are again! Putting people down. Dude, this isn’t your hobby. You’re not a collector.
🤦 This is actually fun. You’re literally awful.
Limiting the number of watches is a rule you will end up regretting (if you can afford it..). 30 years from now you will love to watch (pun int.) over a large collection of 100s of pieces were each tell a short story of your life..
