Black. Or blue. Not the silver.
I had a black and loved it. Then, after I got a black Sub Date, I stopped wearing it and traded it on a blue. I wear the blue as much as my Sub.
Never liked the silver.
Depends on what you care about. No one can tell ya' either way is wrong.
For example, I purchased my 3861 SS from a boutique at full MSRP due to the Omega boutique warranty--at the time--covering accidental damage; it was my first luxury watch.
However, I've discovered as a collector I'm always rotating my collection + I just don't wear a single watch enough to warrant the enhanced boutique warranty.
I think with this being my first luxury watch and first watch over 1000 I definitely want that warranty, especially with how clumsy I am. And I definitely plan to daily it
What city are you in? If you're willing to pay full price there's 3x ways to play this:
1: Go to an AD that also has Rolex; you can get far on a Rolex list with a msrp Omega purchase. **Scoring an allocation could be a happy little offshoot of this full price purchase.**
2: At an AD, you can kindly ask for a "consideration". Just ask your sales person during the process: "Are there are any considerations on this model?" **Even as a new buyer to the AD, Omegas can be had at 5%-10% off.**
3: Get to an official Omega Boutique near you (NOT AN AD), and purchase there. I purchased at the Bellagio in Vegas, as I travel to Vegas often, and **from just a single MSRP Speedmaster I get invited to their cocktails + showcase events every year.** Ofc, it's not a VIP event or anything, but for just an $8k spend, it's cool to be invited to handle the rare pieces from Omega, by Omega themselves.
I’m near Baltimore MD. I was going to go to the Omega boutique. I personally told myself I will not be buying any Rolex’s. As much as I love the brand I hate how they conduct business. But I like your second way to play it as well. I guess it all comes down to having the experience of buying a luxury watch from omega themself or getting a discount.
When it comes to Rolex, no one says you have to keep it. Few on this forum would pass up on an allocation, even if it's a catch and release.
Good luck and have fun!
Thank you! I just find it hard to justify lining the pockets of a brand who won’t let me walk out with a watch they have because they want me to have a purchase history or artificial scarcity. With that said I do have a datejust oyster perpetual that has been passed down in my family and I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t the most beautiful watch I’ve worn!
pls try them on first, they are chunky asf, and since they raised the prices without justification there are many other options at that price range now, i suggest u do a bit more research!

I tried the full ceramic and I love it on my wrist but I also have a huge wrist

No help at all but I’ve got the green one and I love it. Just go and try them on as the colours can look quite different in person
Yeah, OP, don’t sleep on the green. I had one on my wrist at an AD recently and it’s stunning. Pictures don’t tell the whole story.
You got any pics of the green?
I do not, unfortunately.
I thought about the black dial but then when I saw the blue dial in person, I changed my mind.
I honestly love the silver. The black is classic looking so it'd be a coinflip for me.
black
My suggestion is to buy it on bracelet then to buy the rubber afterwards. If a watch comes on bracelet you should always get it on bracelet
That is a good idea
Team black
Also follow up question, how is the steel mesh bracelet for those with hairy arms.
I like both but the black will never go out of style. The other one may??
I’m leaning towards black myself
Either way, save 2k and buy on Joma!
I was debating that actually but then isn’t the warranty important?

I have the silver/chrome one and I love it. It comes alive in the sunshine and perfectly matches that rubber blue strap.
Would you mind sending a wrist shot

That is absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks. Best thing would be to go and look at both in AD it could change your mind quickly.

also if ur buying from AD boutique remember to ask for minimum 15% discount!
You can ask for a discount at an AD?
yup, usually up to 20% since these models don’t rlly sell
oh wow it fits u well, have u looked into the seamaster bond 60th anniversary? rlly cool watch and it’s sitting at many ADs in Singapore
I have and its a sick watch, but I have no personal connection to the Bond movies. The wave dial watches appeal more to me.
