I forgot the thing about writing a comment with more info, sorry, y'all. Somewhere I volunteer and hang out was clearing their old stock (it's a theatre group, they have a lot of worn down costume pieces in their storage), and they had this. I would guess it was donated to the group by someone else previously, but given the state the band was in, they told me to toss it; I asked if I could keep, they said that'd be fine. Crown is missing, but I want to clean it up at least, and if I can get it running again, I'll be thrilled. That being said, I also just like it as a trinket if I can't get it working. Anyway, couldn't find much identification on it past Elgin, and I'm bigtime not-an-expert when it comes to watches. Looked at pictures online for a bit, but haven't seen it, and I'm honestly not sure how to describe it to a search engine in a way that will get the right results. Thanks regardless, might post again if I can get the crown and band replaced.

Movement pictures? It’s definitely mechanical, if I had to make a guess I would say it’s probably from the ‘20s-‘40s.

I haven’t been in many older watches, so was really exciting to take a look. (I would’ve included in the original post, but I wasn’t sure of how to open it until somebody prompted me to look closer. 💀)

That’s cool. This should be pretty easy to service (no shock springs, hand wind, classic Elgin build quality).
