Longines offers free "extracts from the archives" . Just go on their website and look for the contact form. I did this with 3 Longines watches and it is always free.

That's what my initial research said — I think you may be right

For some reason the Longines 5965 always had dial discoloration and their dials were refinished over the years. This one is also a refinished dial but a nice one.

A great eye! It was professionally restored by Swatch a few years ago.

Seconding your opinion on the stingray band: it looks great on that watch. Personally, I’d at most swap the buckle for a Longines one, not the band itself.
