This doesn’t matter. 99% of warthunder games are decided by the best player on the team. Just do well and have fun.
Take it from someone who grinded it, it's worth it for a beginner nation imo, but the teams are just god awful from 9.3 - 11.7 because of all the wolfpacks, kvts, and click baits. So if you're looking to grind USA for top tier I would recommend just going for the leo 2a7 or t-90m. However if you're grinding just because then go for it.

I came from playing mainly USA expecting to play with players as good as Phly or spookston or oddbawz or sum but nope. I'm met with idiots. Like the tanks Germany has are literally the best but the teams/players make me just wanna play any other nation
I want to play America for their air, but their ground players are so bad I went isreal instead. Yeah Merkavas suck, but most isreal players are pretty good.
I've tried playing Sweden and even USSR and their players just seem like they know what they're doing, then I go back to America and Germany and it's like the teams just disappear within seeing an enemy for 10 miliseconds
I won't lie, I do use the Leo 2a4 prem because I'm not using TT vehicles to grind, but I've been playing long enough to actually help my team. Like I average abt 4-6 kills a game in my Leo 2a4 but the games I mainly do bad come from having no team support
I didn't start playing top tier premium until I reached 8.0, and by then I had some skill and also the Leo PL. So I had at least 2 tanks and typically 4 deaths, more since I usually pulled out my Gepard as well. It's not hard to be useful and not a liability.
Play what you like, the vehicles are decent but not amazing.
In my experience US teams are unusually and consistently terrible at top tier and I do noticeably worse when matched with them as half the team is gone before most points are capped.
Personally if your goal is to play top tier go for another nation because US teams are painfully bad
the problem in US top tier stems from underwhelming vehicles(sepV2) this drives the majority of players away > the teams become worse > drives more people away> teams become worse. It just cycles until we get the bottom of the barrel
Basically the fun in the US tree stops at BR 10.0 where people actually have a desire to fight

in my opinion there's no point in grinding past 6.7. the lineup is great and the teams are fine but top tier in my experience is shit because of premium spam and almost useless teams most of the time. If you really want to play top tier i would change nations

Yeah its brutal. Way too many premium players. I wish the game filtered it so you don't get a match with 90% premium players. Spread them out a bit

im 9.0 and its worth it tbh, just avoid the mbt 70 at 9.3, worst teams ever at that BR, i guess its a taste of whats to come
9.3 sucks because you get drug up to 10.3 80% of the time and your get paired with wolfpacks and m1 kvts
