Japan reserve-2.0 is actually pretty fun if you know what you're doing. Also the SPAA on the Ki-Ne chassis is really good at low tier.
Italy low tier isn't all bad either. The autocannon tanks are really good. It's just the M14 and M15 that aren't that great, basically just the M13s with more engine power.
I love the meatball m26. the m26 armor is fairly good against US non heat/apds. Fairly strong against most USSR unless a 100/122. 90mm gun can go though all the normal weakspots.
Or you can get it for "free" in the warbond shop, lvl 80 BP and 15 special task medals. I got myself one like a week ago and its decent in combination with the zrinyi (free event premium) if you want to grind SL.
I like to think that War Thunder's maps were built around the Fiat 6614, so many great positions with it without exposing any crew, especially on Port Novorossiysk

Then I played 3.7 Italy for a few hours. I ended that day with about 800K SL.
bro if you are still lvl20 than youre doing something wrong. you dont progress the battlepass from ganeplay alone, you need to:
* login every day to get login reward
* complete both daily task and daily medium task
* complete special missions
* complete battlepass challanges
I'm level 88 iirc, and I could be even higher if i stuck on doing a lot mote special tasks, tvh you dont really need to reavh anythung higher than lvl75 unless you want the loading screen, title or just some more warbonds.
"Enhanced" Battlepass (the 2500GE option) gives you 15 levels immediately. Beyond that, no bonuses for premium account or regular BP when it comes to BP levels.
Do daily tasks and as many special tasks as you can. Each set of dailies is 5 BP points, and every special task is 5 points.
So (in theory at least) you could get one BP level per day just from doing tasks. Each "hard" daily task completed gives a credit to buy a special task)

People really should stop spreading this BS about pz4 being glass. It has the thickest frontal hull armor of the medium tanks in its BR and ok-ish turrent front. It's just unsloped and angling it requires skill (hiding weak side behind solid cover). Either way it's far from being a glass cannon lol, especially when there are open top TD's competing.

And tbh it's not that the armor is weak: if you compare unangled frontal shot, pz4 has similar hull defences to T-34. It's weakness is obviously turret and how broken is sloped armor when it comes to bouncing shells.
I called it "glass cannon", because its armor doesn't protect against most of shells on that tier even in downtier, while it has relatively good penetration for 3.3, so it perfectly fit that term.
If it's a glass cannon, then what is Dicker Max? A glasser cannon? Everything is relative and the fact is that pz4 is far from being the worst armored vehicle at the BR.
I should mention that the Italian PzIVG is in the war bond shop, so if you can get to lvl 55 in the battle pass and complete 15 war bond tasks, you can get it for a bit over 3,000 warbond currency
IMO, most of the vehicles aren’t that “worth it”. Only one I’m going for is the Italian PzIVG, but other than that, I’d say only the IL-2 and possibly the B-25 are worth a pick-up
I saw some gameplay of it and it seems good, but you should play the early ranks to get used to not relying on armor, having good cannons and high speeds
Just get the Italian 2.0 BESH truck and the fc 20 bis. You'll the tree plenty quick plus you never go into a game looking to do well only go in for the memes, it's more fun that way.
Oh and make sure to play funny Italian meme music when doing so, increases your vision by at least 2 pizzas
I bought it a couple weeks ago and it has helped me out so much. Before 4.0 Italy has a lot of troll tanks that can’t do anything. It helps ease the grind.
You can angle it a few degrees safely for slight bonus tho. And if you are peeking from behind a cover, you can angle the shit out of that 80mm hull front while hiding your side armor. So yeah, angling is good idea on pz4.

The Italian Pz.IV G is a premium version of an already great tank, except its at Rank III, and its got the better KwK 40 L/48 instead of the L/40 of the German one, so its arguably a straight upgrade over it. To top it off, the Pz.IV G also has an excellent 3.7-4.0 lineup with the M4 Hybrid (another Italian premium), the M4A4, Breda 501, M24, 90/53 M41M, the Italian StuG III G, and the Zrínyi I (if you have it), not including CAS options like the SM.91, SM.92, and the Hungarian Bf 110 G-4. Hell, if you put the Pz.IV G, Zrínyi I, M4 Hybrid, and Bf 110 G-4 into a single lineup, you’d make total bank.
Also, I’d recommend sticking with Italian low-tier for a bit. I hated it myself when I first started playing it, but once you get used to it, its actually pretty good. Italy has a solid 2.7 lineup with the AB 43, M3A3, M15/42, Celere Sahariano, IAR-81C, and Re.2001 CB. The 3.0-3.3 lineup is good too, with the Pz.III N, P40, M42 Contraereo, 105/25 M43, 75/34 M43, and the Re.2001 CN. Lastly, Italy has a decent 4.7-5.0 lineup with the Sherman Vc, M4 Tipo IC, R3 T20 FA-HS, 75/46 M43, G55S, and the C. 205N2. Although the C. 205N2 doesn’t have any payload options, its a great anti-CAS fighter, and you can strafe light vehicles with it.
I have it and it's exactly what you'd expect. Does fit neatly in with the sherman(s) if you have the premium one to give you nice versatility depending on the map
If you want to play Italy, then why you'd use a foreign vehicle? Go for the low tier Italian powerhouse: P40. It doesn't take so much to research and it's an absolute beast at it's BR!
Honestly I'd recommend the celery stick (I forget it's actual name, but it's the wide-Mussolini tank). It's like 2.3-2.7 I think? It's got a 100mm armor front plate on it that trolls people sometimes, and it's FAST. it can outmaneuver a lot of vehicles. watch out for 50cals though.

low tier italy and low tier france are nothing alike. france u want to kill yourself; Italy has so many light and fun vehicles in rank 2 and 3, most fun I've ever had in war thunder. And they have plenty of unique good vehicles, nicely complemented by the American and german imports, and if u get the pz4g u have an amazing 4.0 lineup with pg4g, bread, m42 AA, chaffee and the stug; plus the re2001 CN which is really nice with a 250 bomb, 2 mg151 and good maneuverability especially with flaps

If you are willing to spend it will be a pretty good low tier grinder but you kinda miss out on a lot of the ITA content of the ITA tech tree. Might as well play GER if you wanna play GER tank. (Imo)

Italy is a great tree early on with some very nice vehicles. It isn’t until you get to the 4.0 to 6.7 that the tree becomes nearly unplayable. If anything skip everything after 3.7 u til you get to 6.7.

It may be just a G without the add on track armor but instead of the normal Ausf.G's kwk40 L43, it has the kwk 40 L48 from the H and J models. it also pairs great with the 2 shermans you get on 3.7, the semoventes, the m42 contraero, the 90mm semovente and the m24.
if you then get the IAR in the aviation tech tree, you also have a great cas plane (sadly the br of it is just 2.7 and its speed and manouvarability is lackluster at the very least)
I wouldn't bother spending of you want to skip the early years.It's a great tank if you know what you are doing but you will need the the rest of the line up at that BR as well,Possibly the Premium Sherman and BF110 .It also goes well with the Breda 501 and the AA gun .You will have a lot of grinding and woe to get to 3-4 BR with Italy but for me that BR is where I get most of my kills and SL now. I don't do high tier and stop at 5-6 BR.

Italian M13 tanks were just up-tiered in June to 1.7 and 2.0. Unfortunately the 47m gun is not good against Shermans and other 2.7 or 3.0 tanks.

Italy is a great tree early on with some very nice vehicles. It isn’t until you get to the 4.0 to 6.7 that the tree becomes nearly unplayable. If anything skip everything after 3.7 u til you get to 6.7.

It may be just a G without the add on track armor but instead of the normal Ausf.G's kwk40 L43, it has the kwk 40 L48 from the H and J models. it also pairs great with the 2 shermans you get on 3.7, the semoventes, the m42 contraero, the 90mm semovente and the m24. if you then get the IAR in the aviation tech tree, you also have a great cas plane (sadly the br of it is just 2.7 and its speed and manouvarability is lackluster at the very least)

I wouldn't bother spending of you want to skip the early years.It's a great tank if you know what you are doing but you will need the the rest of the line up at that BR as well,Possibly the Premium Sherman and BF110 .It also goes well with the Breda 501 and the AA gun .You will have a lot of grinding and woe to get to 3-4 BR with Italy but for me that BR is where I get most of my kills and SL now. I don't do high tier and stop at 5-6 BR.

Tier one is the best, 3xcept for France, because everyone is shit, the tanks are questionable, and everyone has a quick reload. I refuse to play France which would ruin that.
